I literally just stumbled upon those two pieces of jewelry. Lucky find! I hope you followed the link to see some of those Memorex commercials. They were novel and the slogans have certainly endured.
I just loved listening to you tell the Memorex/Ella story, Billy! This stirred up a lot of memories for me. Firstly, the arrival in our house of the 'tape recorder' - being able to hear one's voice play back, it was wondrous at the time. Secondly, being introduced to all those artists you mention by an elderly neighbour - we used to pass his house on late-night walks and see him dancing by himself in his living room with the volume on full, quite a spectacle! As we got to know him (I was in my early twenties at the time) he invited us in to drink whisky and dance! It was just great, he was so enthusiastic and loved having young people around to share his love of music. Anyway, I really appreciate you taking the time to talk about things of the period, other than knitting. I know I always say this but that really is a stunning outfit, it looks so good on you. I really like the beret. Can't wait to see the finished bedjacket, I would definitely go for a satin ribbon - maybe you can find some vintage ribbon on ebay? Finally, many congratulations lovely Sophie! I know Sophie has been a regular guest but I remember watching her in one of your very early episodes, it's been a while! Thanks Billie, loved this episode.

It's just those hormones, dearie! Other than sleepless nights, are you enjoying motherhood so far? (They used to tell me, "Sleep when your baby sleeps." Not all advice was welcome, but that was sound.)
Yes, I've been trying to do so, but not always possible. 😂 My husband goes back to work tomorrow, so that will be the real test!

I made a similar bodice template, to my own measurements, when I made a blouse and it's the best fitting blouse in my whole wardrobe; far better than shop bought blouses. I haven't done one for knitting but it would really help me with fitting issues.
Do you still have it? Wouldn't it work for knitting, too? Now i need one for sleeves!!!
Yes, I still have it. It is just a bodice without sleeves - I haven't tried it out as a guide for a knitted sweater but, in theory, it should work!

I love love love your swizzle stick sweater. It’s so cute. What you do that’s very often not done by others is choose the exact right yarn for your pattern, which makes all the difference. People do the same thing with Fabric all the time, using the wrong fabric for a pattern and then they don’t like the result because it doesn’t drape right. Does the pattern actually tell you to make the collar in two different yards, one light, and one dark, or was that your own take on it? It’s adorable 🥰
ROL --- had you seen the "Epic Fails" episode you'd know that initially I had not chosen the "exact right yarn" --- far from it! But alas, my friend gifted me a gorgeous yarn and a star was born. In the thumbnail, you can see the original was 2-tone. Evidently, I knit my collar slightly differently since my colors are showing in a different arrangement. Glad you like it. Thanks.
