    Hi Martin, I love your videos + learn so much from you. I especially appreciate the way you draw + sometimes paint trees. A perfect blend of realistic + abstract. You know, I get so much from your instruction, I would like your videos even without music. I can’t just turn off the sound lest I miss an important detail from you. Thank you again!

    Dear Martin,
    I discovered your first video on UA-cam last week and I was immediately very excited! I am particularly charmed by your style and the way you create beautiful drawings.
    I will definitely watch all your previous videos, because I will learn a lot from them and especially apply them to my own drawing work.
    I have already secretly started with a first attempt. The nice thing was that my wife asked me: who made this drawing? What a dynamic style that sketch has! And she couldn't believe I made it (i.e. copied it) ;)
    I am currently at home with severe Postcovid complaints, so I will try to find peace in studying your beautiful work! I wish you lots of success and inspiration! Kind regards, Anton.

    I tried figuring out how to make splatters with a nib. The only way I could make bigger splatters was to basically ruin a nib so that the tines almost criss-cross and I have to slide them at least twice. There must be a better way… you make it look so easy and you get nice big splatters. Try again another day……..

    this video is wonderful as are all your videos.
    You made me want to try this technique.
    Could you give me some advice on which nibs to buy and especially the brand of soluble ink you use.
    Is this ink also good if I put it in a fountain pen?
    Thank you so much for everything you do 😍

    • @MartinLachmairArt
      @MartinLachmairArt  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi, thank you for your. friendly feedback! There are lot of different nibs on amazon, like these from the company "Brause", I would recommend to try different ones: flexible ones like type 66 and harder ones like type 513. For fountain pens you may use only those waterproof inks which are special made for fountain pens, like "Sketch ink" by Rohrer and Klinger.

  • @ScheherazOdd
    @ScheherazOdd Рік тому

    I love your style! It’s different from other ink and watercolor artists on UA-cam, which is great! I haven’t managed to watch all of your videos yet, so pardon me if you have already addressed this, but could you talk a little bit more about how you simplify things when you’re drawing from a reference? How do you decide which shadows to simplify in a tree, for example? That’s what always slows me down when I’m drawing… Trying to add too much detail. Some of my pen “sketches” end up taking weeks to finish, which is ridiculous. Thanks for posting these videos!

    Hallo Martin!
    Leider bin ich noch nicht so gut wie du was die Malerei angeht, aber ich merke dass unsere Mal-und Zeichentechniken sich ähneln. Ich nehme keine Zeichenfedern, sondern verschiedene Füller, deren Federn bearbeitet habe. Für die meisten Striche nehme ich einen unbearbeiteten Lamyfüller. Die anderen drei Füller sind Billigfüller so um die 3€. Bei denen habe ich die Spitzen der Federn dünn, bis sehr dünn geschmiergelt. Teilweise auf Schmiergelpapier und auf einem Wetzstein, den man eigentlich zum Messer schleifen nimmt. Das funktioniert sehr gut. Der Vorteil für mich ist, ich kann auch unterwegs mal schnell ein Bild anfertigen, ohne Gefahr zu laufen, dass mit der Tintentopf umkippt.
    Ich nehme auch wasserfeste Tinte, die fülle ich mit einer Einwegspritze aus der Apotheke in die Füllerpatronen fülle. Ich glaube INK Lotta.
    Dein Video ist übrigens sehr gut. Deine Arbeiten sind sehr überzeugend und ich schaue sie mir immer gerne an!!!
    Du bist ein lieber Mensch, das merkt man sofort! Mach weiter so!
    Dein Fan Georg
