Your style le is definitely that of an architect or draftsman. Most Artists generally draw the scene, then come back and hatch, then shade. You do all 3 simultaneously as you move along the page. Outstanding! Thank you.
Brilliant evocative representation of a dark mysterious forest - love it!! You mentioned in an earlier video that you would be open to suggestions - if that is so, regarding your city-scapes, I'd love to see more on how you approach the embellishments of your tower buildings, things like the cranes, antennae, ladders, doors, windows, walkways, aerials, balconies, vents, plant rooms, control rooms, communication dishes etc. Maybe a special on these ancillary parts of your work? Apologies if I've gone too far, but I love your detailed touches.
No, no! You haven’t gone to far! That’s exactly the discussion I want to hear! Perfect, you got the right point! Our drawings should be (sometimes) more, more of just the lines and perspective! Let’s keep it up! I will answer for that topic in a video within the next days! So excited about this topic! 👍💯
Martin, Thank you so much for your tutorials! I keep watching your videos and thinking what a great find! I hope you hit your first 100K subscribers in no time, because you truly deserve it!!!! Elena
Vielen dank Hr. Lachmair!
Thank you for demonstrating your forest technique. It is so helpful! I drew along with you (had to pause the video several times because you draw so much more quickly than I’m able to) and got a result I’m really happy with!
Hallo Martin! Mach bitte weiter so - Danke!
vielen Dank für dein freundliches und detailliertes Feedback das ist sehr hilfreich für mich und auch sehr motivierend liebe Grüße aus Österreich, Martin
Thank you very much for the tutorial, I really liked it. the only thing I would like is that the angle of the camera was a little closer to the picture
OMG, I'm so excited I just noticed you added a link to Amazon with your favorite tools just in time for Black Friday deals too. 😂 I'm off to Amazon to shop your list. Thanks again!
I really loved your video ! This is very good technique and so meditative, I very much enjoyed drawing along with you this beautiful little forest. I will definately try this again and again, thank you so much for sharing ! 😇🙏
I never tried this way. I always start outlines of trees and went into details. But still it is hard for me to draw trees and forest. Your way is intriguing me to try. Thanks for the tutorial😊
@@MartinLachmairArt Thank you for your quick affirmation reply. 🤠. I'm not a 'fantasy' sketcher, but I do like how you do what you do showing me ways to improve. Thank you for sharing your knowledge & skills.
Thank you so much for doing this video, I can’t wait to give it a go! Can I ask what make your brush pen is? It seems to have a nice point on it! Thanks again 😊
What ink are you using in your brush pen? I have that same pen and use the ink cartridges that came with it. However it seems days later I still can rub my finger across those areas of the paper and the ink rubs off a little. I am wondering if you experience the same issues?
Hi! Well I use the empty original cartridge to fill it up with ink that’s waterproof and useable for fountain pens. Like for example “sketch ink” by rohrer und klingner.
Martin... teus desenhos são excelente fonte de referencia para mim.... procuro me inspirar nas técnicas de alguns artistas, procurando formar talvez um estilo proprio, juntando um pouco da aquarela mais tradicional, ao line&wash e do traçado à grafite e nanquin.... misturando um pouco de Charlie Evans, Peter Sheeler, Matt White, Paul Clark e Martin Lachmair....hehehe Martin... your drawings are an excellent source of reference for me... I try to be inspired by the techniques of some artists, perhaps trying to form my own style, combining a little of the more traditional watercolor, line&wash and tracing with graphite and ink .... mixing a little Charlie Evans, Peter Sheeler, Matt White and Martin Lachmair....hehehe
I accepted your challenge and enjoyed sketching with some Pigma pens I had on hand. The shadow areas ‘in the forest’ make it work but I struggle with the transition areas where the forest of trees ends on either side.
Thank you. I intended to include a photo of the sketch - but it doesn't look like UA-cam allows attachments. I'll find a way to do it (I hope). @@MartinLachmairArt
Ihre Art zu zeichnen, egal was, ist bemerkenswert. Schön dass sie dieses Video nicht beschleunigt haben. Darf ich fragen welche Tinte sie für ihren Brush Pen benutzen?!

I imagine we could use a waterbrush filled with ink (your choice, and even different dilutions) for shading perhaps?
Absolutely, I did some of my other pictures of cityscapes that way 💯🖋️👍
