Note: It is not so important what brand of watercourse paper or what brand of waterproof pen, or what brand of waterbrush you use, but the sketch will work best with Speedball Elegant writer medium tip pen 2.5 black pen. Other watersoluble pens will work but usually don’t give the green and pink colours that bleed out of the Elegant writer when water is added.

I just want to say I ended up getting some elegant writers and waterbrush technique and absolutely love it, it feels so effortless and fun with minimal set up, I'm absolutely stoked! Thank you Allan for the tutorial, everything he said is exactly true, the tissue and how the color changes when you lift up the water, so fun!

Thanks for demonstrating this wonderful technique! I watched the 90 min lesson as well. Problem Im having is my Elegant Writer lines/strokes are not really disappearing under the wash, even if I flood it. Is this a function of my paper (weight)? It detracts from the final rendering.
