After installing the track chains on my Bobcat 435 Excavator I was able to get a jump on a project I thought I'd have to wait un til summer to get to.!

Faith, Skill, family, marriage, love, property...so awesome for the world to see...
So great to see there is still goodness/ joy/ hope in the world. Best music online !
You've accomplished so much Heath. I pray you all have a good week and are all safe on the Ranch
Back in the 60s when I was a kid and growing up I loved Saturday mornings and the cartoons and then came Sunday, which was even better because the “Wonderful World of Disney” came on. And now, all these years later again, I look forward to Sunday evening again. Of the many, many channels I watch yours is number one. It is so enjoyable, wholesome and fun, and I learn a lot. Please be careful and keep up the fantastic work.
My Sunday night used to mean HBO and the Sopranos now it’s Red Poppy Ranch.
Too bad it couldn't be both.
Thats a sad sunday 😂
@@kaurkoop for you perhaps. Me I loved the sorpranos and love red poppy ranch.
Heath, the one thing I have learned after all these years is once you set your mind to something, there is no stopping you! Stay strong and healthy young man 🙏❤️🇺🇸. Use the technology available but be proud you have the determination and vision of the pioneers 🥰🙏
i really like the idea of a sugar shack you got the land and its on a hill which is great all you need is the pipeline everything runs down hill to your Sugar Shack. all you need is the trees to put out . look forward to seeing those videos .
Wow! You can really see and appreciate how steep the incline is on the higher part of the property, great job!!
Trail was looking pretty good. Plenty of space up there in now for you.
That excavator is amazing. I can't imagine you ever doing without one now. A touch of somberness in Today's video. All the way from the music to your narrative, just something in the air I guess. Thanks for taking us along.
When you said, 'I need to get back to work' I relaxed back to enjoy. I'm not a big fan on how the inside of a motor works so I've been pining. I'm back in my personal comfort zone again, watching you build your family's life on the homestead. You thank us for coming but I thank you for being here 🙃💜 Happy New Year.
The path you are creating makes me visualize a Robert Frost poem "The Road Not Taken". In my view a certain calming of seeing you do this gives me peace of mind.
❤ the ever changing footprints of Red Poppy Ranch. It looks great wide so sun can hit that road so it's not icy...
My forestry school recommended no more than a 7% slope for a logging road and no more than 15% for very short distances like a switchback. That is what you should strive for on your road to the top. You should lay it out first with surveyors tape and a long measuring tape. You can gauge the slope using the height of a person at the end of a 100 ft. tape.
Nothing stops the incredible one man Heth Construction Company...!
Heath the drone seems to be a great way to check out everything on the property and to check out the animals from the comfort of the house and not wasting time traipsing to all areas of the property by foot in the bad or even good weather.
Beethoven's Ode to Joy comes to mind watching this Poppy vignette..
Johnny Cash's song "One Piece at a Time" comes to mind watching the Ford truck build process.
Judith'B I love old westerns and the earlier Colonial stores by Zane Grey. I like to look at the set decorations on the old westerns, etc to see what the mercantles, and cabins used in the blacksmithing, farms and kitchens. I look for these items at swaps and flea markets because those items could make a big difference if the world goes sideways someday. Its been mid 60s here last week, snow and ice is gone, and I am cleaning the yards, burning leaves and branches, dead logs and other stuff. Pruning bushes back and will start on the fruit trees soon. I need to move flagstones and build a walkway, and fill holes with dirt. Hard work makes me feel better and clears the cobwebs!!! I really enjoy watching your progress!!
Heath .. It’s going to be so AWESOME . To see you use all your property .
Retaining walls with some footings and some water ways would increase safety for the spring thaws.
you are making good progress - ditches for drainage and gravel should help a bunch and once you complete switchback and up and over to back 40 you will finally have access and can build a nice airbnb cottage which should be a nice summer project - don't be afraid to take out more trees and give yourself some elbow room - winter may end up being best time to address and build a road but it will be a work in progress for a while - be patient and persistent - the gravel and sand will help with drainage and lock things in place
Wow...can't get over how good that dirt looks.
Now you need a log hauler to bring all the wood down the hill in long logs
You can run that slash through the chipper.
Either use those chips as fuel or for smoking some good meat.
Heck, city folks buy them chips by the bag.
I Envision all the trees on the hill tapped and a Labyrinth of pipes coming down to the Sugar Shack.
You ever think of putting a quonset hut over those tanks?
Would be pretty quick and give you some much-needed cover.
That dirt looks absolutely amazing! So dark! So fertile!
Cheers from just over the border in WY! Trail is looking great!
No kidding about the old days and the hard work it took. Keep up the awesome work
One good thing with Heath working so high, is we get to see Busted Wagon place, it is sad they no longer make videos!
Beautiful view from the top of hill 🥰
Great video today. I can’t wait until you get the drone out to show us. If you can will you tell us which direction you are going while flying the drone. I like to get my barring straight. Thank you in advance.
sure is some nice dirt there.. here in south flordia our undeveloped land is literally sand, and has sea shells in it
Awesome progress Heath, love your work mate👍
Great video
Gosh I love the snow ⭕️❤️
This is genius! As the snowmelt comes off the mountain, it will now hit the trail and the path of least resistance will then be to go down the trail, thereby leading the water away from the house and shop, AND it is even causing the land to settle on the trail even further. Genius. Did y’all start with this as one of your goals?
Looking forward to the drone footage. As always, love the music!
Both the truck and your road up on the hill are coming along really good. One thought I had in looking at all of that rich dirt you guys have, much like our land here in Southwest Minnesota. I don’t know if there would be a clear area or one you could easily clear for a large garden space? 😊
this guy is amazing all the stuff he does. Is the lack of board and batten on the back side of the shop a concern?
Very nice work with the road.
Have a nice day, best regards from West coast of Norway
You need to take a leaf blower to the burn pile you get the center glowing red with the extra oxygen from the blower and it doesn't take you as long to get it done
Excellent progress Heath. Well done.
I miss busted wagon also. Thank goodness for Red Poppy and Maple Mountain ranch!!! Thanks for another interesting video! Love your videos! 😀👍❤️🚂💨💨💨💨💨
As a dump truck driver, I’m liking these warmer temperatures. Makes loading and dumping loads easier. When it’s below freezing material tends to stick in my box
As someone who plows snow in the winter, these warmer temperatures sucks, lol!
God bless you all!🥰🙏🙏🙏❤️🤍💙🇺🇸
😊
Sow Buckwheat along your new trail. it has deep stabilizing roots.
Bee's love buckwheat and buckwheat makes good pancake batter!
A lot of wood burners have at least 2 years firewood stored so you have too worry should some emergency arise. Even 3 yrs. wouldn't hurt.
Two years is great! Running out truly sucks! If you have some sort of family emergency, you might not be able to go out and cut more.
The trail is coming along very nicely and Heath you make it look easy but I know it’s a lot of hard work
When are you going to tap your maple trees and make you own maple syrup? It takes time but the end product is so much more worth what you can buy.
Nice looking trail so far
Love seeing the doggy 🐕 coming up to bug ya on the hill lol
Outstanding and awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
Nice work Heath, I have a JD 35 excavator and Its amazing how useful and powerful they are its done everything Ive asked of it on our 10 acres. With the little experience I have your 5 ton seems about perfect for what you use it for, its the goldilocks size, no to big not to small, Juuuuuusst right!
Awesome work heath England UK ❤
Pioneers utilized the technology of their time, you are utilizing the technology of your time.
I would totally buy a Red Poppy Ranch maple syrup!
I second that statement.
My goodness that looks like rich soil
“Cedar brought me some snack”.
Bro is low key trolling some people. 😅
😂😂😂
❤ your late & chickens are there to wake you up 😂😂
Bless their little pea pecking hearts!😂
You mentioned a Core Support is hard to find. Have you tried LMC Truck for a core support. I have a 1992 Step Side Silverado that I get parts for from LMC Truck, just saying!
Here we are , just across the border in N MI and we're in the middle of a heat wave. Expecting an early ground thaw.
Thanks again for your time making this video watching from Reno NV.
So mud load on that excavator is going to be tough to clean off!!
Great video!
Next build project needs to be a log wagon. Even if you just weld up rights on a old hay wagon
Awesome work man :)
Long time viewer here - love this channel. One question I have is why you don’t strip the topsoil first and save it for other projects? Keep up the great content!
I'm not real sure your "girlfriend" was impressed with your wheelie...lol 😂😅 Youre definitely getting the new landing and trail underway there, looking good! Love ya'll ❤️
I think all of her attention was on the dog!😂
Texas here
'this is how you show off to your girlfriend'
Love it - from across the pond x
I wait all week for your show! ❤
Such a slow moving machine!!
Wow Heath! What a winter project! The weather is perfect! You’ve accomplished so much! Which of your family members can run this equipment?
This is a good question.
Love it so much keep it up as always 💘
I laugh everytime he does the wheelie. I've seen about 3 or 4 operators lose their jobs where I work for doing that though.
Aaah noooooo... there goes them trees again... Heath the Woodchuck...
Naaaahhh... I'm just teasing...
Tongue Twister:
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? He would chuck, he would, as much as he could and chuck as much wood as a woodchuck would if a woodchuck could chuck wood.
Outstanding video 🙏🏼
😂 I loved that part when you were showing off to your girlfriend ❤. I felt the love vibes between you two. Lovely job you are doing Heath. 👍🏽
The bushings on that mini are destroyed! U need to replace those asap.
No snow on the roofs? wow
Just a sidgeon on the shop roof.
NOW, IS THE TIME TO BE PLANTING A FIRE WOOD PLANTATION FOR THE FUTURE
Maples put out a lot of helicopter seeds that plant themselves. I live in Central Minnesota where you can't walk 10 feet without seeing a maple sapling.
Whatever happened to the bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs in the shop?? I thought that was going to be your winter project!!
Oh it’s another video about a vehicle 🙄 is it the SKIDSTEER next week ?
flat land is great except I doubt you'd have so many acres for the price. Flat is also a bit boring.
Cedar needs a carport. With a steep pitch roof.
You could heat your shop with wood.
What?
I think I would try to keep my ride out between the downed trees and home. I would avoid cutting down trees between the excavator and home.
I wish states would pass laws to keep people from destroying farmland just to build another house, city people should face high fines for destroying farmland especially when disturbing virgin ground not stripping the topsoil before digging and just digging mixing it all together 🤬😡
I'll bet a big CAT bulldozer would be a great machine for cutting in a road quickly.
Having seen a bulldozer roll down a steep hillside and kill😮 the operator, I'm not too sure about that one😢.
Do you take a handy talky or cell phone when in your out back in case of emergency.
Heath ur always coming up with new projects, lol ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was wondering what the Red & Sliver 4x4 truck was going to be for. Is that another project?
Does your drone have the ability to lift any of the cameras, that you routinely film your work, so you can reposition your cameras easier? Plus give you more opportunities to fly your drone 😁✌🏼🙏🏼
👍🏻🙏🏼👍🏻
lol Ruby wants a piggy back lol
I’d separate and save all that beautiful, dark topsoil for your wife’s garden
Hiiiiii 💖💖💖
You call that Brush? Ha!
Poor camera!
Why do you not have a fire going?
If I knew what I know today I would have sold this land and moved away. just saying
