If you don't mind a suggestion from an old body work guy every time you bare metal paint with weld through primer it will hold off the rust and as the name suggests you can weld through it no problem your local body shop supply place should be able to get it for you great job by the way Regards From Liverpool.

Heath my friend I would humbly suggest spray liner inside and out on the floor. You can still put padding an carpet down but it will completely seal the floor top and bottom. I recommend the Rihno liner products. Both the spray and roll on I have used. They work great and dry pretty fast.

I was so glad to see you wearing a face shield for grinding. As a retired pipefitter i know what it was like when we were young, we all thought we were invinsable and didn't need safety gear but as I got older I think I got wiser and realized that my health and safety were very important to me and my family.

As a young 17 who eloped with a man whose Dad was a body man, I was determined to deep my sons out of body work; just as determined, it seems for fate to make it happen. 4 times now, once in Gainesboro TN when my 51 year old son was born, again in Rhinelander, again in Minocqua where he died in a 100 year old highway removal garage. My son is now being narrowed into bodywork and I'm 77, here in Iron River MI. Sad that I have had to fight against the toxic job for so long.

I have watched every single one of your videos and look forward to them every week, I don't always comment on them , but I always put a thumbs up. One thing I have mentioned quite a few times is , when the weather is bad , even rain and sunshine, your vehicles and equipment could all do with some sort of shelter. Maybe when the weather breaks and you have finished your trail up the mountain, you might find some time( plus funds) as I know wood is very expensive at the moment and it would have to be a big shelter as you keep accumulating more equipment. Anyway whatever you do, I will continue to watch. Xx

Dear Heath, I don't know if your interested but over here in SE London it seems like we are having no winter at all. Every day the weather is like either the beginning of autaum (fall) or the first parts of spring. It is nowhere near the normal low temps we should be having at this time of year There has been heavy rain storms but not as many as there should be for February. There has been no snow and not even sleet. In late March to early April the farmers start to turn the fields and get ready for planting by late April. If we are going to have a winter over here it had better be soon and quick as it will be to late to have one soon. Sorry this comment was long but I could not shrink it down any more. have a great day....

@jakobrebeki Well, those activities, yes. But we have other industries such as snow mobile builders, ski resorts, lots of winter festivals, ice fishing contests, ice sculpture contests, winter clothing manufacturers, etc. Another problem is that without the hard freezes the insects that hibernate under tree bark are not killed and wreak havoc on our orchard and lumber industries. For the rest of the year, with low water tables, farmers, ranchers, resorts, public parks, home gardeners, orchards, and arborists. And this is just Minnesota. The states around us are going to have a repeat of the problems we have had in years past. It's going to be rough.

Have you considered putting a heavy coating of rhino lining on the floor of the truck and then covering the foot areas with rubber floor mats? Putting carpet down will keep the rust process going instead of preventing it. If your heart is set on carpet just get rubber floor mats with carpet on the top side to cover up those rough areas. Also the Rhino lining allows you to hose out mud and dirt when necessary. Just a suggestion you may have not considered.

Yard hydrants are 2-3 feet long underground in addition to being that tall above it. You bury the bottom with gravel, etc surrounding it.
When you shut it off air enters the top and the water drains all the way to the base, out into the gravel and trickles into the soil.
