- Join me in making the biggest lure I've made so far. We will build this huge wooden 12 inch glide bait from scratch. I love handmade lures, swim baits, and rainbow trout. This project lets me combine all three! Check out part 2 of this build here: • Making a 12" Glide Bai...

I have one word that will help with shaping these big baits.
Spokeshave.
You know, I don't own a spokeshave but I just might need to get one. Thanks!
Found your channel about an hour ago... it’s fantastic. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Christopher!
a real nice video and a great lure... Congrats really well done...
Thank you!
I made a beautyful 15" wooden glide bait and went fishing. Then with the first cast I wake up with a smile. But this dream was quite relaxing. By the way, your vid ist excellent.
Many thanks!
Glad to say that Solar has never changed keep it real baby
I am in a country called Korea.
I dream of making a lure.
I don't understand your language.
I'm getting a lot of help from the video.
I'm rooting for you.
Thank you for your support!
Bravo magnifique travail !!!! Belle réalisation très soigné et très professionnel , j'attends ta prochaine vidéo
I appreciate it!
Very beautiful! It's a pity to use such lures as you do for fishing, you want to put such things in a showcase and admire them.
Thank you! Well, since I make lures, I have a lot that don't get fished too often. I can always make more.
They would clip the adipose fin off Triploid Rainbow trout stocked into some of the loughs here in Ireland. It makes sense here because the Rainbow is obviously not native so I suppose they could make sure trout were not reproducing and the stocked fish were in fact sterile triploids
That is interesting; I've heard from other people that the no longer do that here. I'm sure it varies from fishery to fishery. Thanks for watching and for commenting!
@@zimmtex no problem bud 👌
Hi from Spain again. Around minute 39, you have on the tanke a little red sanding tool. Can you talk me where I can buy one of those? Thank you very much!!! 39:41
Sorry for the late reply. You can get one of those sanding sticks here: amzn.to/3lhgiZe
@@zimmtex Thanks a lot. In U. S. Amazon is 25 $. When I Went to see in Amazon Spain is 75€. Jajajajajjjjajaa. I’ll try to found it in other places. Thanks.
very good job :)
Thanks for the visit
💯💯💯💯💯
Thanks!
Great videos; I subbed! How long did it take to completely finish the Swimbait.
Thanks and welcome to the channel! Hmmm, not sure exactly how long it took to make this lure. Recording does slow me down quite a bit, but I'd guess it's maybe in the ballpark of 12 hours of working time. Of course, there's a lot of waiting for epoxies to dry and whatnot, but you could get it done in three weeks. Between work/school/life obligations.
Wow! I was expecting like 6-8 hours.
@@coco5475 That is probably possible, especially if you have made one before. It always takes me longer to make the first one.
Excellent video!!! What wood do you use?
I usually go with poplar because it has a nice grain, it is easy to work with and is reasonably durable. Thanks for watching!
Just bend the dorsal nail.
I appreciate your input and thank you for watching!
It's such a shame Marlin used to make videos like this but decided to go jazz funk and ruined his channel . Thank you for keeping it real and not trying to be a media lovely .
I don't know where this channel will lead me, but I am happy doing what I'm doing right now. Thanks for watching!
👍👍👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💚
Thanks!
Good job wish i found you chanel earlier
Welcome and thanks for watching!
Poplar?
Yes, I think poplar has a nice even grain for carving and it is reasonably dense which makes for a little bit more durable lure.
4h from upload and I'm the first viewer... I think you tube don't like your channel for some reason 😖
Well, I guess it's because I'm relatively new. Not sure, but I appreciate you checking it out. I'm uploading part 2 right now!
