- I hope you guys appreciate the effort i put into this video, this is by far the hardest and most frustrating video i have done thus far. enjoy the video my fellow lure nuts.
music credits from 16:35 to 20:27 goes to Sibi994 (www..com/user/Sibi994) for the beautiful symphonic rendition of Moonsorrow's Jotunheim - Навчання та стиль
Seriously a work of art man. That was awesome to watch.
throw that at some snook lol
Lawson Lindsey Fishing ,would you throw that at a school of big jacks?
Where can I buy that spray gun.so useful???
THE MAN LAWSON LINDSEY!!!
Cool stuff Mikko. The idea with not cutting thru entire bait is just awesome. Will definitely use that in my next bait! Thanks! Cheers
Stunning work, and well done at answering everyone who asked how you joined the sections, (I was going to do the same). Thought it may have been asked so had a look and reading through them all answered all my questions.
You've now inspired me to have a go at making a multi jointed rat, if I can get somewhere near 1/2 the detail you put in I'll be happy.
Cheers for sharing your skills.
I am amazed at the surgical precision you possess. The attention to detail is astounding. You make it look so very easy. Cheers
The carving process is beautiful. You are not wood working, you are making love to it. Very inspiring!
As Always, Beautiful work and thanks for posting! One of these days I hope to be back at it, but till then it is an inspiration to watch your videos.
Thanks,brad
thanks brad much appreciated :)
You have done an amazing job! Love to watch your talent!
The music turns carving scales into an epic adventure. Sounds like you are saving the world with your swim bait!
I've watched your Chanel and blog for a long time, one thing I didn't realise was hoe primitive your wood tools were... So even more kudos to you! Great to see the whole process, super video. Thanks for posting.. Best wishes from England
Just watched my first video of you making a shad lure, you truly are a master at lure making.
Very nice work, your knife control is amazing. Lots of detail which shows in the end product. You are an artist my friend. Thanks for the video
Artisan and craftsman. Kudos to your work, sir.
Amazing!!!! Everyone should put that much pride into what they create... Beautiful work!!!
Nice to see you back doing your thing Mikko . After watching you for many years I still haven't seen any one as good and believe me I have seen them all , bravo .
hey thanks a lot hearing stuff like that gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling for sure haha.
The chaos on the workbench when pouring the resin... glad to see im not the only one using all the space on the bench 🤣🤣🤣🤣
To See A Fish Try To Get Your Lure While Your Testing It Out Is Cool To See!!
I Made An MS Slammer Type Wakebait I Tested It Out With No Hooks And A Fish Tboned It Hard
Beautiful work as usual my friend! I absolutely love the profile of your bait. Keep up the great work brother!
Can't believe I sat through that whole video! Well worth it though. Nice work!
Very cool...love to watch you work, you have so much patience.
Amazing work as usual. Always inspiring.
Amazing. Looks so difficult but you make it look so easy. Very nice.
If u don't like sanding. Just rough sand the blank. Then start by sealing wood with epoxy or poly acrylic to give u a perfect finish to paint on
you cant really carve any details after that though
Love the lego mold idea! Nice work sir
Its because of solar baits and a few other bait makers and painters that i finally took the plunge into the bait making and painting world. Thank you for teaching and showing us if it wasnt for you my baits would be no where near as good as they have been turning out so far. Especially with a cheap $ 10.00 modified makeup air brush.
Thank you i appriciate that
So detailed! Quality work
Great Looking Lures!!
Another awesome tutorial, I picked up a ton of tips! Thanks man!
well this was not really meant as a tutorial but i'm glad you got something out of it ;)
Amazing work as usual!
Son obras de arte ; más q un señuelo, admirable el talento q posee . Cuanta dedicación le pone a cada una de sus creaciones. Felicitaciones!!!!
You never cease to amaze me!
thank you Richard :)
Awesome video. I had to watch it 3 times because the music kept putting me to sleep!
Amazing work, brother!
Man what a great video, can’t wait to see more 👍glad I found your videos 🐟
These are just works of art.... super
Great music and bait as well
This is awesome. Thanks for the video
very awesome man! wish I had the patience for stuff like that.
Awesome man! shoot me some pics of the glide for sure
Wow that’s crazy dude! Great job!
Your art is beautiful thanks for sharing it with us!
Man that is awesome, u have a gift dude. Wish i could do that lol
you're a great master
great work and awesome video
sure would like to try that shad glide bait on the big sam and toledo bend
I've had some swim-baits for quite a while, I've got them all prepared for painting. Then everything came to a halt, how on earth do I clear coat them and seal them at the same time without getting it on the strips of Kevlar? So they've been put away until I can find out how to do it correctly. I'm hoping to sell them so I need to know that they're 100% sealed and no chance of it peeling or chipping off! Am I worrying about nothing lol or should I make key fobs out of them lol? You're the best to ask, I just hate taking up any of your time as I know that you must be busy! If that's the case I will understand 100% if you don't reply.
Yours look so perfect and even more important they look so Life-like in my opinion. All those scales carved separately... Now that's got to be dedication. Definitely deserves 'BIG THUMB'S UP ALL DAY & NIGHT'👍😷👍🏴
Hmmm!!! I have a feeling no one else knows the answer to my question! Or it's a Big Secret, one of many.
It is a long video to watch but I enjoyed watching your craftsmanship.
Beautiful
Awesome scales details
long time no post ... hahaha your video is always welcome! beautiful piece! congratulations! thanks!
thanks for watching :) Rodolfo
Looks Awsome!!
Great piece of work - I love the music, very restful
Wonderful labor! Great to see your next movie how to do a swimbait. :))
Can I buy from you such Swimbait?
26:04 Thats A Great Way To Line The Holes Up I'm Gonna Do That On The Next Bait I Make.
Holy Shit bro!!! Never thought I’d idolize anyone. Killed it bro! Straight talent!!!!!!!
Awesome video, great work. What compound did you use to make a transparent tail? Is it hard or soft?
Thank you!
You mean I sat through that entire video and did t see it finished painted and all together. Hahahah. Well looks awesome
This was the time where I was still experimenting with the full build video format. However I do have a separate video where I paint a shad that was released little bit after this video. If your interested
You are so skillful.
That fish is a work of outstanding master wood carving skills to say the least, in fact it is so great I am lost for wordsAll the bestPete.
thanks peter much appreciated
genius, enjoyed the vid, thanks
Your work is beautiful at this level it's even art. I have a small question what kind of wood do you use? Cordially.
Looks good!!!
I love your work. I have made a few lures but not with the detail that you have accieved. I am going to make my first one here soon. I have poplar and oak around (for when I use my lathe) but can you tell me what wood that you feel is the best for what you do.
Thank you for your videos.
Your lures are amazing.
saintsfisherman it really depends on what type of lure you want to make.
Incredible
Lol its me again but really loving the work as always! Your video quality has gotten alot better not saying it wasnt good in the past. Also your more recent videos with the shad and the bass have been particularly informative and inspiring as those are prey fish here in the states.
-S
Also just a tip: If you use mold release spray or even just cooking oil spray before you pour the second half of the mold it would separate much more easily
ahh never heard of the cooking oil method, i will have to try that someday. Also thanks for the nice words, i have tried to put little bit more effort into these than what i did before.
Awesome video you rock
This is awesome going to have to try to make one! Just Subscribed to you.
You have those abilities because it's what you were meant to do
I watched the whole thing an it was a cool experience. What was the black pen you were using it appears to apply the ink very smoothly? Thank you.
Amazing video
I also see the finished lure and see how it will swim when I'm making lures
Amazing work. Waaaooooww bravoooooo👍👍👍👍👍👍
I feel the pain with the band saw thing
Thx for the video! Do you also weight the belly of the baits? or do the the hook hangers and hooks add enough weight for that?
You have to add weight on these types of lures for stabil gliding action.
awesome job! God bless keep it up
would you swim in a swamp with gators and snappers to retrieve this lure if u snagged it ?
Do you have a video that shows how you remove those large sections of material? I see you have taken the how bait down a millimeter or so below the gills and pectoral fins. How do you do this? Thanks so much for these excellent videos!
I carved them with a knife like everything else in the video.
@@SolarfallBaits incredible craftsmanship! Do you have any tips to keep the surface uniform as you carve away all that material? When I try to remove a large area like that I end up cutting some areas too deep.
Can you make more videos on u making these swimbaits, I am wanting to get into making my own and would enjoy watching you make these so I can learn how my self.
im currently making a new lure build video so i guess you are in luck because it also is about a swimbait
how long do the scales take. Great video Ive always loved carpentry and grew up crappie fishing been getting into bass fishing and here in texas we have the monsters...Big Bait Big Fish Im inspired to make at least one of these. I hope to craft something as beautiful as your lures.
its really hard to say. it really depends on how big the scales are and how big is your lure + the material and experience matters too. I've never actually taken time to see how long it takes for me but we are usually takes couple of days.
I am still really new to the craft and I love you work but I have some questions. Is this technique or the hinge technique better for beginners and which one is better for action of the bait? Where did you get the template for the facial features? Could this style be used for multiple body segments?
Thank you for any and all help
for beginners the screw eye to screw eye or the metal pin option is way easier to get working well compared to the door hinge. The template for the facial features is just a skech i drew out prior starting working on the lure. pretty much any shape could be also made into a multi segmented version.
Hyvää työtä Mikko
Epic Lure man. I'd pay Top dollar for one
😃 “I know what I’m doing” - every journeyman carpenter ever, just before they loose a finger (or hand in the case of one guy I know) to circular a saw.😅
I really love your work...! What angle do you cut the joint ..?
I think for this one it was 35 degrees
Like for work!I liked the video!
Very impressive. You have true talent. Gotta ask about your tail since it is an insert. I assume it is from the same resin. You gluing it in or pinning it? Also I have seen some of your other videos that used clear tail and fins. What clear resin was used? Thanks.
rhallman1000 its glued in and i used mr boat epoxy to cast those
Great work, but my advice is to bend the wire like screw for screweyes :)
Who does your epic score? Sometimes the music overwhelms your narration.
BTW, on those scales you carved? I think you missed one.
R they available for purchase? Would you be willing to make more of the gizzard shad? Love your craftsmanship
Sorry i dont sell these anymore.
crazy cool bait
thanks man i do like it how it turned out too ;)
great video would have loved to see more of the jointing process after the halfs were cast . how the screw eyes were connected/ fixed in place . would have thought 2 eyes connected by a pin in the second half would be best . any reason why you choose not to use this method ? thanks in advance
Screweye to screweye is just more easier to use for me and i have a huge stock of them so it just makes more sense to use them. I dont think the action will be any different compared to the pin method either.
thanks for the reply great work
thank you bro
Hi, What type of wood do you use to build your lures?
TheRibo64it Maple
New Anglo word .... "Awesomeness".
How can i buy one? ? Ur a true craftsman. Man of men. true inspiration
I mostly sell these on ebay once in a while
I'm in the process of carving my fish and have done a little reading about casting molds. I just learned that the feather lite resin floats in water. Do you add weight to the bait? Or are the hooks enough to keep it under water? Thanks for the video! You are great at what you do!
feather lite is fairly buoyant so you are going to have to add some weigh inside in order to make it swim better and also sink at a desired rate.
SolarBaits do you have a video on how to balance/ desired sink rate video?
i do, its called How to weigh a jerk/glide bait.
SolarBaits thank you so much! I hope you keep making more videos.
Every accident starts with I know what I'm doing lol 😂 but seriously I do the same but we shouldn't ....😂
Creative man :-)
What wood did you use? Awesome video as always!
yeah i forgot to mention that haha, i used maple here
*I like watching how lures are made, it give me a better understanding of them. Do you sell your lures? Thank you.*
Thanks for watching mike, yeah i do sometimes sell them. Mostly through ebay
@@SolarfallBaits *Thank you for replying, I will check eBay out.*
@@mikebledsoe2315 i usually announce about those things on my instagram, so if you have it i have a link in my about page in my youtube profile.
@@SolarfallBaits *Cool i will follow you on IG. Personally I'm looking for a 4" 1oz squarebill swimbait like the Black Dog Baits Shellcracker; maybe we can do busine$$. If not I understand.*
Where do you sell your baits? Also, do you do commission work? I’d much like to hire you and your beautiful craftsmanship for a swim bait or two.
i mostly sell on ebay ( solarsellsbaits) or at my own facebook group solarfallbaits finland. i dont do any hired work, just dont have any interest in commision stuff anymore.
The Michelangelo of lure building?
Or was it the angelic music?
Maybe both
