I'm going to watch the next video to see how this spine turns out - it's so cool. I love the washie tape. Now I need to buy some alcohol inks, lol. So cool, I am anxious to watch the next one; but it is 4:24am, time to get some sleep. Thank you for always being so inspirational!!
You are the Queen Robin!! I've known you for a long time and you never cease to amaze me. I am 73 and have been a working artist since the age of 18, I know when I see great talent! Thank you for giving so much of yourself to all of us. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and stay well. ♥️🍗🥧♥️😘💕💕💕
I love how y9our little book is turning out! I didn't think your glueing method was going to hold all of those papers together. I guess I was wrong! Lol! Take care, Robin! Stay safe!!
Robin, I know this one is a bit older and I'd watched some of the other Jeninne Oliver ones that you showed from her book, but I think this series is one of your BEST!! So....I'm not only rewatching them, but laughing out loud at all your excitement and hysterical giggles! Your exactly right, it's reliving our childhood once again! Thank you so much for this experience! Your the best! ;)
I am super excited about this series you are doing, Robin!! And I love all your work of course :) I am playing along and started 2 journals ... one will be an altered engagement calendar ... and the other was a smaller vintage book cover with antique red marbled paper. It was an unfinished project where I had adhered a vintage rusty metal ceiling tile to the cover and added a copper mesh spine. No guts of the book were ever created, so I will figure out how to get all the vintage yumminess I have into this book. Thank you for all your magic and inspiration!
I love how everything came out! I wish I had time to do it with you now but I plan to rewatch it and do it in January when I have more time. Great job.
Wonderful! This is the first video of yours that I am seeing - it appeared in my suggested feed. I love what you have done here!! I normally handcraft fairy houses and diorama, and doll repaint projects from time to time.
That bundle is a great deal. I hope you get lots of people signed up! I am making a folio for my sister. I used the glued spine technique to assemble a calendar section with note pages alternating. It seems to be holding up well so far.
Thanks Carolyn! That's good to hear about the your glued spine. I just checked mine today and it really is amazing how well it stayed together so now I'll add reinforcement with fabric, more on that next week.💜
Funny, I was making tape last nite using scotch tape and the caramel alcohol ink to make aged looking tape for my journal. It really looks authentic!! BUT OMG loving the washi tape technique today. I will be making my own in a very short while but wanted to acknowlege this fun, great video lesson today. I still have my roller stamps in many, many different shapes, I have a wood stamp of the tree of life that will really look great on the tape and lotsa alcohol ink!! I think I might add a little of the gold, bronze or copper alcohol inks for a touch of shine. I am not able to start the 3 journals yet because I am still working on your/my manilla folders project which is okay because I am loving every minute of it. Almost done.....I think. I have a hard time realizing when a project is finished. I keep going back and adding or changing something. Also I get sidetracked and will see something like today and I have to stop and play. Belly dancing? WOW how cool is that!! What a creative life you've had!! Sorry for rambling but really excited after today's video. Thank you. Sue
Susan I have a big smile on my face. I love that you are excited, I certainly wasn't expecting the washi tape to be that much fun but I'm already thinking of other mediums I can use to make more! have fun my friend!
@@robindudleyhowes One reason I am so excited is because I love incorporating mixed media into my journals. I miss using my paints, sprays, inks, etc. when junk journaling. Whenever I can find a mixed media technique I can use I am gung ho! Artymaze is another artist I follow because she almost always adds some mixed media products to her journals.
I love how you create. You are always so excited about your current project. You are fun to watch. Love the washi tape. I have a lot of those plastic mailing packages I've saved. NO idea why I save them. They just seem to have lots of "use" left in them. I will definitely use them now to make washi tape. It came out GREAT! Just beautiful The book binding came out great too. I've NEVER seen anyone do this. But I know they make books with glued in pages. So I've always wondered if we could do it. It's a great way to put pages in and not have pages separated like with sewing them in. So the "page spread" is together. Thank you for the great video!!! Austin, TX USA
Wow thank you so much I really appreciate your enthusiasm! I save waaaay too many things but you know they always get used and I feel I'm giving the earth some justice.
Yowsa! Robin, I can't wait to start this washi tape!! I have some of those paisley blocks in my stash and they have never really worked for me, so I'm excited to see how you use yours. ;) I'm really excited for this yummo project. Thank you Robin.
This is so amazing! I don’t have any of the bottles of ink just ink pads but I’m so going to get some so many ways to play with. 😍 You are so cool 😎 💃 🦋. Ty and stay well.
Oh my gosh this is great!! I came to learn how to do this book and I've yet to finish because of all the stamping and painting I'm doing on the washi tape!!! I had gotten some of those wooden stamps like the paisley one your using and I had stamped some on fabric but that's where I stopped. I was kinda bummed because I ran into a creators block with different ways to use them as they don't stamp like traditional rubber stamps and I know they're used for pottery alot🤔 I'm so glad I started watching!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!👍❤️
I hope you come here 🥰 if I may give you some tips Go to Stockholm and Gotland 💜💜💜 Gotland is an island soo beautiful From middle age it’s like come to an other country 💜💜🙌🏼🙌🏼 I want to come to USA Take care 🥰☀️☀️☀️☀️
Hello fellow bellydancer! I have been dancing for a few years and took up sword this past spring! ❤ I have the book and the course through Jeanne. They are great. This is so fun to watch you create through the book. Your course looks amazing. Gonna try to get. Love making journals too.

Just so you know, I’ve been a subscriber for a very very long time, and just today I received the first notification of your video. UA-cam is crap! Same thing happened with a bunch of other channels I have been following. I love your work! This washi tape technique would work with a ton of different things. I’m thinking one could take some label papers and do the same thing. Or even printer paper that can be cut into strips or torn and glued on the back. This is so awesome!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much. I agree there is so many possibilities with this tape. As far as youtube I know that now it's not enough to just subscribe you have to click the "bell" icon and then right next to that it says "all", click that to get every notification, hope that helps!😀💜
@@robindudleyhowes my bell was clicked to all. But as I said today was the first time I actually got a notification. Now I have to binge watch all your videos. Love playing with paints and inks too, it’s fun. Got a few of those wooden batik stamps too but hardly ever use them. How do you clean off the acrylic paint of ‘m? Have a wonderful day Robin, stay safe ❤️
Hi Robin! How are you doing? I keep hearing LA County Covid19 cases are increasing. I live in the Riverside County and we're not doing good either. I just got tested for Covid19. Thank GOD I tested negative. On a lighter note, I just signed up for your classes! Yay! I can't wait to get started. I'm enjoying watching you glue your journal. It seems like so much fun making your own washi tape. I shall give it a try. I want to follow with you but I'm so behind on things. It seems lately if its not one thing it's another. Where did you get that wooden swirl stamp? It's so cool! Tfs Take care and GOD Bless
