Looks like someone else loves the sari silk and lace so I read your reply. Hopefully you will be able to find. I love this project and I am so excited to have some of the Red Lead stamps you have and the magazine on hand as well. I have shopped at Red Lead for many years. Great stamps!! Thanks Kathie. I think you’re referring to bark cloth, It was used quite a bit from what I hear for curtains and maybe even tablecloth and bedspreads in the 30s and 40s
Me again...I found sari silk with lace on Etsy - Oliver Twist Fibers. It's white. For anyone who is interested.
This is an excellent idea to make a journal with fabric swatches and cardboard, bc I like to recycle stuff as much as possible.
I'd also Love to win your handmade JJ, especially one that I've watched you make over the past few months! So FUN! Can't wait to see all the elements put together.
Thanks, yes I try to use up scraps and recycle as much as possible for obvious reasons but also it makes every project unique~

Watched this a couple nights ago and lost my internet during a storm along with my power. My power went on and off several times during the night and finally came back on the next morning but I am just now getting my internet back.... But I have gathered some similar supplies and I am going to work through it with you this time. I love the way this piece looked when finished. hugs

I love this little book Robin. Thanks! I’m surprised that screw punches are not used more often by junk journal makers. I bought one many years ago for book binding, long before I started making junk journals, and it is awesome.
That Day in Time by Sue I know I bought mine at least 25 or 30 years ago and at that time they were very expensive like $50 but now they’re a lot cheaper so I don’t know what the quality is but I really like mine.

Lisa O'Halloran I know I was so jealous that I couldn’t go to the store but I’m so happy that they have continued to carry products online. I always wanted to take one of the classes that they held at the store they make such cute stuff!
Hi, Robin -- I hope this finds you well. I echo everyone else: this is such a cool project. We had discussed whether you could use your laser printer to print on fabric -- well, my really good inkjet got paper wound around the inner roll bar and it was the end (play taps!) -- so I bit the bullet and purchased a color laser, and boy do I love it !! The toner that comes with it is only enough for about 100 pages, which I think I printed the day it arrived -- ha -- unlike the HP, I can't find an aftermarket supplier, and each toner color is about $70 -- but it's supposed to print 1500 pages. I don't know. But, I did see a video here on youtube about how to reload the toner -- ink owl or something like that -- they send the toner and the computer chip -- I bought a lexmark, and supposedly you can reprogram the chip with the printer's computer, so I'm going to give it a try -- the toner is about $9 -- well, I'm finishing up a journal I started back in MARCH when "you know what that we can't say on youtube" hit the US, and I had printed out the fabric image using my inkjet, so I wanted to compare with the laser -- the laser absolutely works -- but -- I do a process which is probably overload -- but what I discovered was, the cheaper all-cotton fabric is the best -- I printed it on what I thought was a heavier cotton battenburg handtowel -- I had cut the lace out -- but, the weave was too loose -- and -- it had poly. mixed with the cotton -- so then I used a 100 % linen -- and it worked, but the weave was too loose -- I have a 100 % white cotton sheet that I bought for less than a dollar at the thrift store a couple of yeasrs ago and I only use it to print on -- and it worked like a charm -- because it will go on the cover, I'm going to practice on the other images putting matte modpodge on it to seal it -- but give it a try -- it really is -- Also, I'm so jealous of your vintage journals -- we don't have the flea markets here, but there is a goodwill outlet a mile from my house -- it's where they take all the merchandise that doesn't sell in the area stores and you buy it by the pound -- paperbacks are 25 cents and hardcovers are 50 cents -- so I guess it all balances out -- Can't wait until tomorrow because it's "Tuesdays with Robin" -- take care, Patricia
