This man could sell me a kazoo...
To be fair about kazoos, they are cheap and fun and get you chicks.
What about a capoo?
This man could shred on a kazoo lol
He could fart into the microphone and it would be music
@@ramencurry6672 He once farted 140 bpm into his guitar pickup. That fart became Scarified.
This dude is a National Treasure.
For real man
Paul could make a piece of yarn sound good. If it's got strings he's all over it. The man was born to play guitar. One of the greatest.
Just to clarify a bit for non ukulele players - The Uke is tuned gCEA, so when Paul says that the top three strings are the same as a guitar, he means guitar with a capo on a fifth fret.
The G is on the same position, fifth fret, just an octave higher.
So he means the strings have the same intervals, ok. That makes sense, because the licks will work with the same shapes.
@@Traumglanz DUDE INTERVALS ARE THE SAME NO MATTER WHAT INSTRUMENT!!!!! they are the intervals (steps)between the notes!!!!
for instance C major C D EF G A BC WWHWWWH are the major intervals
you want to know the modes?? start on C/ionian(major scale), Start on D/Dorian, start on E/Phrygian, start on F/lydian, start on G/mixolydian , start on A/Aeolian(natural minor) and start on B/ locrian mode. depending on where you start is the mode you are in. based on the C major scale in this case A minor being the relative natural minor ( 6th position Aeolian) minor interval being A BC D EF G A (WHWWHWW)
@@tomdaniels3392 Mate, he's talking about the intervals *between the strings*.
@@pattOnTheHead some tend to outsmart themselves I guess lol
@@tomdaniels3392 We understand how intervals work. But you don't have to tune a stringed instrument in perfect fourths with an odd major third. The Ukelele uses the same 4th, Maj 3rd, 4th that the highest four strings of a guitar do. If it did not, you would still know your scales, but you would not have memorized WHERE the notes are on the fretboard. This is why a Uke will seem unnatural to a guitar player because they don't inherently understand WHERE the notes are on the fretboard like they do on a guitar.
As an Ibanez nerd myself...I approve Mr. Gilbert as the banner carrier for the brand. So many of my idols from the 80's and 90's have switched to more traditional guitars but Paul has stayed true to Ibby and I like that about him. And ya that's about the coolest Ukulele ever built.
I would LOVE IT if he showed up with a late 70s style Ibanez (but with a modern neck and all). Many of those were high quality at the time and it would be a SUPER COOL way to show Ibanez (and his) legacy!
Paul Gilbert and Ibanez are super innovative! You people are continuing to amazing me pleasantly for over 30 years long time! :-)
You all are Number One!
We love you!
Greetings from Bulgaria, from one of your huge fans!
You’re Such an inspiration Paul… I grew up listening to your music!! Rock on brother!! 🤟🎸
Wait until Paul discovers the Guitalele. I’ve written songs on it and practice on it on days when I just don’t feel like practicing and it cheers me up.
The guitalele is the beach bitches destroyer
Ive always needed that shred-uke
The ukulele is the most therapeutical instrument in the world, except, possibly, the human voice. You just can't be in a bad mood while you play it. And easy to learn and fun to use in a band. Everbody should have one.
Seeing my favorite guitar player playing my preferred instrument makes me smile.
Maybe a collaboration with Jake Shimabukuro and Taimane in the future.
I'm ready for a Paul record with only non traditional instruments. Starting with the sideways (formerly known as "upright") bass and this g'ukul-ar-le. Also ready to be as cool as Paul, any day now!
Sideways bass?
You mean double bass?
That's hugely traditional.
And this isn't some weird new instrument, it's just a ukulele.
Again, very traditional.
@@nuberiffic I'm pretty sure you know exactly what I mean. Playing a double bass on your lap, with a pick or tapping techniques is a "non-traditional way" of playing a very traditional instrument. Similarly, a ukulele tuned like a guitar, played through fuzz and other effects is not "just" a ukulele. Sure, I could have said it better, but an imagination is a terrible thing to waste.
@@nuberiffic Look up "Paul Gilbert G4 Experience."
@@BlizZ9 Why?
@@nuberiffic It's literally the video they're referring to.
I just got my wife a Ukulele for Christmas, and as a guitarist it is SO fun to play and so simple. Didn't realize it was such an easy instrument to pick up.
Dude is the guitar GOAT.
Cool as F too.
I’ll get one when they make a Fireman Uke.
Beautiful scenery, keep bringing us fun Paul. Love the Dio stuff 🤘🏼
Saw Paul backup Joe Satriani.....came on with these massive headphones, shouted "Let's Rock" and ripped through an entire set. Blew the place up! Never seen such massive hands moving so fast.
Paul + Ibanez uke makes me want to take up the uke! 😁
Me too!
This is just SOOO Paul Gilbert. Nothing but smiles.
Pro tip, that Marshall sounds even better upside down instead of sideways. 😉 Does the uke come with a lo-pro edge trem version?
this dude sparks joy
これは欲しくなりますね⭐️
このシェイプで、ピッコロギターも希望😊
Paul is the very best and a humble man. Proper gent.
as guitarist how started to play ukulele this little thing is make to make you smile
That Uke is pretty awesome!
Love the dee-luxe Hawaiian backdrop. 😁
Paul Gilbert. Always edifying and educational. Dude could sell anything. Plus I feel smarter already.
The Paul that plays ukulele is also cool!
This ukulele seems to be fun because we can use effects♪
You are my friend Paul Gilbert
I bet Paul drew the the oh-so-on-theme blackboard backgrounds as well. Renaissance man! 🙂
Paul Gilbert is the best.
Wow! Ukulele looks rocking and classy💪
I got the Iceman and love it. Paul Rocks!!!!
Ive always dreamed of having a paul gilbert signature with the music signtures. So classy. I just wish one of his models had a LO pro bridge and a sustainer.
Beautiful
Actually sounds very good
You really gotta pay Paul to advertise everything for you. The guy drips charm.
Paul js is such a cool dude... i have.a baritone uke. They're a little bigger and have the bottom 4 strings od a guitar instead of the extra high string on top. It's pretty awesome. Plugging it in with high gain turns it into a ska-core monster...
Lookin' good Paul, enjoy your time at the beach
His music is too good..really enjiyed it
I recognize him from the instructional DVD that came with my Ibanez gio and amp combo from Christmas in 2003.
Let's go rock man!!!
I NEED ONE OF THESE!
Mr. Gilbert! 👍
am i really just finding out NOW that a uke is tuned like the top 4 strings on a guitar (at 5th fret)?
lovely.
I got a guitalele from yamaha, it's 6 string but size of this. put a bridge pickup in it and it's a lot of fun. like this, you can just play like a guitar, sorta....
Very cool and I definitely want one. 👍🏻✌🏻
A Yellow Ukulele played by Paul calls a yellow PGMM bolt on Mikro lookalike Paul's custom shop Ibanez, yellow, 22 (or 24 frets too), black binding (and reversed headstock too)
That was great fun to watch! And the uke is priced the same as a Martin uke.
This man plays wherever dude! He's a master! Jajaja
looks killer! I would probably change string #4 to a low G.... your energy is awesome! Mahalo from Hawai'i!
He actually has a Low G on this.
You should make a Paul Gilbert signature accordion 😳
Dang! If I close my eyes and listen to Paul Gilbert, I could swear I was listening to an 80 old man!
It looks like a ukulele version of the TOD10N and I love it!
How does it look like the TOD10N? Not black. Different shape. Different headstock. No Tree of Death Inlay. Basically nothing about it looks like Tim's guitar. It looks like a yellow, Ibanez RG... but a ukulele.
@@Davidmallen429 well you can look at it surface level or you can look at it in terms of what you're interacting with, nylon strings, a solid top, the same sound but smaller. sure it's not a mini version of the TOD10N but categorically it's the same. In terms of looks it looks more like the original ibanez guitar from the 90's i believe, the one that made Tim want Ibanez to remake the nylon string electro/acoustic (but idk what that one is called)
@@danielanthony1054 I'll give you that. It is reminiscent of the SC500n. Yellow, double cutaway etc.
@@Davidmallen429 I make my own ukuleles for personal use if there's no better alternative (like electric and stuff with rail pickups) , and I was thinking about making one inspired by tim henson's guitar but then they posted this video. it's clearly a better alternative to what i can do with the same vibe. it got me excited
@@danielanthony1054 very cool that you make your own. Yes, sweet little uke for sure.
0:33 Paul says he's a guitar player and a drummer?! OMG 😱 I've never seen him play drums
Watch his recording sessions for Werewolf of Portland, he recorded basically all the instruments on that album.
Hello Friend! That uke sounds Sick!!! 🔥🤘 We better tell mom she needs to upgrade her uke to Ibanez so we can rock on it! Great content as always!
did this man just shredded a uke.
So cool! Love the addition of the distortion pedal 😂 😂
In my head, I'm imagining Ibanez RockFest. Where most ibanez artists will be on the same stage. what a daydream.
I'd sign up. I'm an Ibanez player. Ibanez doesn't know it.
@@raymondlugo9960
me too… for about 25 years now ! I certainly do not regret buying my Ibanez! Still by a long shot the nicest looking and playing guitar that I own and I was lucky 🍀 enough to have it autographed by Joe Satriani! 😊 about 10 years ago.
That would be one hell of a show ! Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert , Angel Vivaldi , the guys from Polyphia and lots more ! 😊 cool idea 💡
Wow that is so cool! I want one!😍😍😍
Then the video worked!!!!!!!!!
this is a promotional video to sell UKES, you bought it hook line and sinker!!!! good job Ibanez and Paul for superb salesmanship!!!!!
Pretty cool
Leave it to Paul to bring us distorted, electric, slide ukulele. What a legend. Hahaha
i need more Paul Gilbert uke videos
Paul Gilbert is getting some insane uncle energy
will you guys have a regular Reissue of ibanez PGM series? not the Mikro, the regular sized 90s PGM series.
I was hoping for a little bit of classic PG shredding. LoL! Maybe next video? 🙂
was playing your hot licks video in the other room and somehow this comes up! somebody's listening to my mic, hmmm🤔
Someone needs to tell Paul you can put a load G in place of the high G and it plays like your guitar if you had a capo at the fifth fret and you did not have the a or the E String once I found this out as a guitar player made it a whole lot easier you can also get them with steel strings and then it definitely sounds like a high strong or Nashville tuned guitar minus the A&E.
I could buy a RG berimbau If Paul Gilbert make the demonstration video.
Perfect for my newborn 👶
YOOOO!!! 24 frets?!?!?! guess i play ukulele now
You can also get string sets with a low G if that helps anyone.
I didnt know I wanted to hear distorted ukulele played with a slide
Chill dude.
I would love to see Paul in more things. Like the Ray Charles scene in 'The Blues Brothers'. I dunno about this guitar Paul. Seems kinda old and beat. Lemme see that... Absolutely shreds for five minutes. Hands guitar back. Nothing wrong with it to me.
Ohh that's some cute little RG
I built an electric flying V baritone uke. It was killer tuned to G and ripping a slide on it
what a cool thing... I must have it...
I'm 62, played guitar since I was about 10, and I've never wanted a Uke until now...... :)
Holy mamamia 🎸🙂👌🎼🎶🎵
Does it have a 90's wizard?
first! SHRED PG!!!
I want this.
ちょっと観ない間に・・❝爺さん顔❞になられましたねぇ。
しかしテクニックは変わらず♪。
❝バカテク爺さん❞誕生!!。
Cant get better demo guy than the great PG ! :D
Mr Gilbert is the man! 🤘🎸👍🙏
I need something that's sturdy enough for harp strings. This might do the trick.
The fact they got this thing plugged into that giant marshall is hilarious
Give uku- album, Paul!
Now, you have to make a solo album with ukulele instrumentals lol 😂
What the fish.!!
*adds Lead Electric Slide Ukulele Player to the resume
Ibanezのウクレレw
可愛い
so cute (ukulele) 😁
*An 8 string RG Mandolin would also be cool...*
I want a reissue of the PGM100...
Sadly, it would probably be made in China, like the fireman
PGM100RE was released in 2009. Lucky owner here ;)
Paul Gilberts next video how to shred a uke In five minutes 🤪
Paul Gilbert plays a Insane guitar... And Ukulele... Kkkk
Is there a baritone version?
Any chance for a PG Fireman-style Uke? Maybe a Torchman?
Aloha from Hawaii
