Just brilliant once again. I should stop watching your videos and go practice instead, but it's soooo cold outside right now 🤣

Awesome and congratulations on the bike. Here's a playlist on turns that I think could be helpful for you starting out. I also have a playlist on balance. Trials Turns: ua-cam.com/play/PLr9WXGyccAG9Oam76ZnaEZvT6HuGozhcw.html

    Great explanations!
You mentioned bike set up, I'd love to get your thoughts about that subjective topic. Just picked up a 15 Beta and following your skill development lessons. Great job and thank you!

Hi Dan. I've got more content in the trials curriculum course that's on my website.
Bars, levers, clutch engagement, fork height, suspension etc.

The technique you use to move the rear wheel works when the front wheel has traction. But that doesn't work on slippery surfaces, i.e. if the front wheel has no grip. Then you have to use a different technique.

Riding dirt bikes since 1973 and now at 59 years old I'm thinking about buying a new GasGas txt GP 250. Please give me your honest opinion. I'm not looking to be on a competitive level or anything like that. I just want a trials bike to keep my body limber and I survived throat cancer after a month in ICU and 4 surgeries. My legs got like noodles laying in bed. I'm doing therapy now and figure the bike would be therapeutic for me both physically and mentally. My questions are do you think it's a good idea? I live in Pennsylvania coal country and we have awesome places to ride here from tight rocky trails to huge coal piles to climb. I'm just waiting to celebrate being alive if you can relate to what I mean. Also I've been watching so many trials videos, please explain to me how you guys slip the clutch so much without burning it? I owned mostly motocross bikes over my lifetime and went through a lot of clutch kits. Your a cool guy thank you 😊

Hey 066motorcross, I don't think you got my previous reply on another video, so I'll include portions of it here. 1st off, congrats on beating cancer. That's huge. My sister had it. Shoot me an email and we can exchange numbers

That's the beautiful thing about trials, it's never too late to start. For me, it's a stress relief that has a mental and physical aspect to it as well as a skill mastery that keeps me engaged. I think you will love it, especially if you can find some others as well who ride. I started alone and wish there would have been something like I created here. Eventually I got into a club, started competing and found friends that have shaped who I am. I love the trials community and think it's a great fit for anyone and especially someone in your life situation. Shoot me an email and I'll give you the course to try for free.... Now as for that gas gas bike, that depends on your extra spending money you can afford. I've had 5 bikes in less than 3 years, but they all have more capability than my skills. I think buying your 1st one used is a good choice, but gasgas has a good deal right now new. If you're not on trails bikes for sale USA Facebook page, that's a great way to find a bike also.
Riding helps me reset the rest of my life and I think makes me a better husband, father and manager. As long as I keep it in balance with those other priorities bc it's just so much fun. I say get a bike. 😉 I look forward to hearing from you

Same generation here and first time trials. Bought a cheap nasty older bike that I'm tweaking as I go so I learn more how it works and comes apart etc and after your reply realise that's exactly how I'm looking at using it to zone out of the crazy world and destress life's junk as I'm working out each little challenge be it learning each skill. Practice practice practice
Soon be hopping rocks and logs but starting at kerbs n twigs and looking up.
With 10 things to learn start at 1. Then there's only 9 to go

Turn shoulders & pelvis to (approx) be parallel with handlebars when balancing & feel how connection & stability improve.
Oh, & don't forget to clean your boots, sir. Oiled Gaernes deserve to stay oiled.
