Correction: Turnip Boy is available TODAY, not the 24th and is available on Switch, PC and Mac. The mentioned IOS release is a mistake on our part. Sorry for the confusion!
This game doesn't overstay it's welcome, constantly introduces new mechanics, is hysterical, has some amazing music tracks, and is delightfully simple.
They are anthropomorphic but its leaning alot more on the fruits and vegetables side than humanoid side their just fruits and vegetables with very slight human qualitys also this games story is extremely screwed up
Using that as a method of cycling between items is still a bit awkward, by the time that there are three or four usable items. Turnip Boy goes through each item individually, and it's difficult to immediately tell which item Turnip Boy is using, since he carries each item behind his back. That makes swiftly swapping items in the middle of some action less than ideal.
Since you probably didn't know back in April when the game came out, they added a DLC now, so gameplay is a little longer. Hopefully they will keep adding more content too.
I felt it was too short, so short that it felt empty. Personally, I dislike the way they go from simple puzzles to an insanely difficult boss rush once you beat the game. Which took me only 2 hours. Over all, not worth the price
Is there any replayability after you beat it or is this a one and done kind of affair? The game looks charming and the music is great from what I heard, but I'm a bit surprised to hear its $15 for 2 hours (even less if you decide to not do the side quests?).
The devs have said they were going to be releasing additional free content for the game. They mentioned it in their Reddit AMA today on /r/nintendoswitch. Additionally there is a speedrun clock you can turn on in the options, so I think they're hoping players will play repeat runs trying to shorten their times!
They have since added an infinite gauntlet of battle with roguelike powerups as you go along and an extra postgame questline. I do not regret getting the game.
I have nevere been to bothered by a games length. If it sells what it wants to tell during its gametime im perfectly fine with it. Cute funny and a decent price tag yeah i may pick this up.
It's the interplay of price and gamelength that matters to me. I want to know I got something for the time and money. $15 is right about the limit for a 2.5-3 hour game for me, especially one that seems to be getting generally favorable reviews. $20 would get a definite pass, but I'd keep an eye out for it being on sale.
Quality always wins out over Quantity. Although I find the game length argument a pretty valid one depending on your age. Or rather how much money you have that allows you to buy games.
If a game is upfront about length then it’s fine. Paying 40 for a box set of DVDs to find out it’s a 2hr movie would be similarly disappointing. Will find out price for this and likely add to wishlist for when I want a game for a trip,
Good review. I wasn’t sure about this game, given the title. One of my viewers recommended me it. This was good coverage. No spoilers, but plenty enough info to go off of. Thanks for making this video.😁👍🏻
TO swap your items it's simple RB, or LB it's not that complicated bro.. 2 1/2 hrs I call BS it's an action adventure game and unless you know exactly where to go and who needs what etc there's a lot of backtracking; 4-6 hours.
@@onedeadsaint It's a valid ask, and hopefully other platforms will be supported in the future. BUT, from what I've seen the game is not releasing on iOS at this time. Pretty sure that was incorrect in this video. Also, the release date was today for Steam and Switch, not April 24 like the video states.

Why does iOS get most games and Android gets no love or if it gets love from a game it's not until like 6 months to a year after it's initial release
Why didn’t you mention the sirens you can sometimes hear in the music
I was hyped for this game on mobile but I can get it on switch
@@tomwaters5090thats why i buy IOS dispite the price that rips a hole in my wallet the size of the sun
My boyfriend randomly bought this for me as a surprise.
I'm an accountant.
You've got a real keeper right there.
You gotta marry him now
I think it's his way of telling you something...
He is marriage quality
I'm Ternip Boy, I am ChildFree but pay tons in school taxes etc and donate tons but also do a little fixing
Can't believe the turnip boy would really commit tax evasion.
smh I’m shaking and crying rn 😭 😭
He seems like a good guy, why wouldn't he
turnip boy cant speak. youd think he cant read.. maybe accident?
@@amogus5479 i mean, he could be speaking but just not showing it in the game.

finally I can follow my dreams and commit tax evasion.
Yes, the male fantasy!
Not even the Joker is twisted enough to fight against the IRS
who knows what evil lurks within the hearts of turnips.
@@nonspiderweb The Shadow knows.
Honestly, that whole Joker thing is one of the dumbest things I've seen from DC Comics on screen.
@@sujimayne The Joker saying he's not crazy enough to take on the IRS? I GUESS you can call it dumb, most people found it hilarious.
Wonder if the developers planned for this to come out around tax time or if that was a happy coincidence.

its such a lovely game, the other half of the game suprised me tbh
I love how KC says "a land populated by anthropomorphic produce" with a straight face...

you can press L or R to swap between items!! idk why the game never tells you this :/
Yeah, I actually found this out when I accidentally hit a shoulder button. Maybe they were playing on keyboard/mouse?
Weird, I think that doesn't work on Switch
Using that as a method of cycling between items is still a bit awkward, by the time that there are three or four usable items. Turnip Boy goes through each item individually, and it's difficult to immediately tell which item Turnip Boy is using, since he carries each item behind his back.

The game is called turnip boy commits tax evasion and this is your question
"Tax evasion is a crime"
"It's an obligation!"
@Live the based life if you say so
i love how the game is literally connected to the atomic bomb
You had me at Avocado Archaeologist

Guess Nintendo declined “yoshi commits tax evasion”
Looking forward to “turnip boy commits tax fraud”
Can't wait for the sequel: Turnip Boy Commits Manslaughter. 🔪
This game made all my tax evasion dreams come true
I was kinda hoping this was going to be about forensic accountancy for vegetables....
THIS GAME IS SO GODDAMN GOOD
It seriously is!!! It's a wonderful short game!
I felt it was too short, so short that it felt empty. Personally, I dislike the way they go from simple puzzles to an insanely difficult boss rush once you beat the game. Which took me only 2 hours. Over all, not worth the price
The music can sometimes include AIR RAID SIRENS
That title though
Second game or dlc is protecting the forest from a construction company and the final boss is ROADROLLER
I played the demo and joined their discord months ago, i'm so glad they finished the game

I'll take a quality 3 hours over 40 hours of fluff and busy work any day. As long as the price matches the length, I'm happy.
Must have been a nice change from Alien Isolation. 🤣
an interesting aesthetic and a good sense of humor goes a long way

I pray this is good
Heads up you can swap weapons with the bumpers you dont need to actually stop the action.
Oh wait, that's the actual title
I thought it was a goof
Well, a 3-Minute review of the Kaze game would be appreciated 🙂
What? Could they not obtain the Yoshi license from Nintendo? :p
with a title like that I THOUGHT it was about being a criminal XD
Technically you are, this games story is so screwed up and absurd though that sometimes you'd forget it lol
I can’t take the review seriously over how goofy the name is 😂
I got the game just bc there's a jojo reference inside and I loved it.
I'm Ternip Boy.
ChildFree are robbed, pay tons in school taxes, and I donate lots but do some fixing
This looks delightful. I think my girlfriend would enjoy it
The bumpers can switch items quickly
The absolute mad lads. They ACTUALLY put in a LEGIT Jojo reference.
What disappoints most is my non-gamer wife told me about this
Edit: It’s disappointing because no review channel I sub to even mentioned this existed.
you sure this game isn't about stan pines gravity falls?
on pc you can swap between items by using a and s.
I enjoyed it. Bit short though.
'Hey you, you can't just not pay your *taxes*'

It seems like old school zelda. Very cool.
This was in my suggestion List of Amazon. I totally lost it when i saw the title.
And that Jojo reference makes me buy this

This review is almost as long as the game itself.
