What separates this game from almost all other "cute funny game, but actually super dark" is that it never takes itself too seriously. The comedy and tone stay consistent throughout the whole game. There is no moment where it gets super dark. The heavy themes and lore are there from the start if you're looking. This isn't a dig at similar games, btw. I love indie games like this. I just noticed that this game has so much charm, it's writing isn't forced, and it understands the references deeper than just mindlessly throwing them in.

I love games like this. Small, indie games which advertise a light, comedic story, and end up completely subverting that by being way deeper than they have any right to be. A Short Hike is a personal favourite. I also really like your videos on these, because you manage to capture how special they are incredibly well.
Oh I love that one!! It was such a fun experience, probably one of the better collectathon games I've played in a while. I especially loved the movement and how good and freeing it felt. I played that stickball game for so long I ended up getting pretty high on the steam leaderboard for it. Just little touches like that really appeal to me in games.

What separates this game from almost all other "cute funny game, but actually super dark" is that it never takes itself too seriously. The comedy and tone stay consistent throughout the whole game. There is no moment where it gets super dark. The heavy themes and lore are there from the start if you're looking.
This isn't a dig at similar games, btw. I love indie games like this. I just noticed that this game has so much charm, it's writing isn't forced, and it understands the references deeper than just mindlessly throwing them in.

Also the lich is like literally radiation incarnate and there’s an episode where Finn creates a world where the lich was never released... only for his alt reality self to find and accidentally set of a nuke and release the lich.

I love games like this. Small, indie games which advertise a light, comedic story, and end up completely subverting that by being way deeper than they have any right to be. A Short Hike is a personal favourite. I also really like your videos on these, because you manage to capture how special they are incredibly well.
Oh I love that one!! It was such a fun experience, probably one of the better collectathon games I've played in a while. I especially loved the movement and how good and freeing it felt. I played that stickball game for so long I ended up getting pretty high on the steam leaderboard for it. Just little touches like that really appeal to me in games.
