Theory extension: Marcus adopted the orphan to carry on the family business because he himself is sterile after generations of significant lead exposure.
I remember one of the times when Marcus was telling his story the kid annoyed him and he says something like "You know your adopted right". I always took that to mean he was telling these stories to someone he was raising. After all he comes from a long line of merchants. Maybe he adopted an orphan to carry on the family business.
A Mini-Marcus? Sounds like a good idea for a quest chain in a future game. Maybe he, or she would want to make and produce weapons rather than just selling them and would task you with "freeing up" buildings and structures filled with gangs and psychos. The reward could be an increased amount of "on-sale" weapons in Marcus' store.
One rare voice line you can get from Mancubus after youve completed the Guns, Love and Tentacles is "you have a dark past and your future...well, beware of this Marcus fellow". This line of dialogue remains extremely overlooked and bizzarely teases a Marcus betrayal.
I believe krieg and tiny are not related, but see each other as someone they lost. Krieg lost a child and Tina has no parents. Zane...fucking Zane. The dude probably gave up being assassin 1 because he wanted to be a vault hunter. He saw it as a way to get more money and kill who he wanted to kill. Maybe that mission saving zero, changed his prospective on somethings so he dropped his mantle has assassin 1 and decided to make a name for himself as a Vault hunter. That's why in the multi verse he still is the assassin 1
i'm fucking sick to death of that stupid theory. if it hasn't been officially canonized by now after 10 years as well as after a krieg dlc and entire tiny tina game then it's not canon and probably will never be
well... if that is true... why zero maintain his assassin name zero but also he becomes a vault hunter? so... if zane gave up being assassin one in order to become a vault hunter... why zero is a assassin AND a vault hunter? why zane couldn't be both like zero did?
@@Slayyyaphine Yeah, but I *do* think that Tina escaped from the same facility where Krieg was experimented on. *Especially* since in the Fustercluck DLC you can hear Benedict talk about wanting to experiment on some preschoolers.
Exactly why Zane probably would thank the other VH's for saving him the hits he probably hated thinking about having to do himself cause they would have been personal.
One other possibility for the Zane Assassin One theory: It’s a joke. Zane would 100% be the type to pull that kinda trick, probably giggling to himself the whole time.
In reference to #5; There was a book released about the adventures of Brick and Mordicai in which the prolog has Marcus catching a group of orphans trying to rob his shop. He threatens to shoot them with a wave shotgun and the lead orphan asks that he aims for the head as the orphans parents were killed by such a gun that had cut them in half. Marcus was moved by the orphan's story and bravery that he decides to share a story with them. I would believe that these are the same children he is narrating to in the games.
the multiverse pack stated that it’s the timeline where the characters continued on their previous path and does so in such a way that it implies zane was already one before retiring
@@sawyerbarney4194 But if we use Flak's story and his skin in that pack then it would make sense that Zane already was the Assassin One because Flak was the Great Archivarius and then became a Vault Hunter.
Now I'm beginning to think the orphan's parents were vault hunters, at least one of them. That would be the most logical reason Marcus would care of a kid, obligation.
Remember also in borderlands you arrive in in a bus driven by Marcus with the other vault hunters. I believe you also arrive the same way in borderlands 2. So Marcus would look out for vault hunters. Maybe Marcus became close with a vault hunter and one of the vault hunters died and Marcus took him in prior to borderlands 1. I'd actually love to read a tie in novel that explains everything that happened prior to borderlands 1. That also includes what happened to Pandora. There obviously was a big ocean filled with giant sea creatures.
@@yoda908 bl2 begins with the vault hunters surviving a train explosion/crash caused by wilhelm on the orders of handsome jack, as far as I know. but I do think marcus has a soft spot for vault hunters, even if it just started out as him seeing them as an investment opportunity.
@@yoda908in borderlands 2 they’re fighting on a train, and handsome jack setup a dummy and blew the train up. They wake up in a frozen tundra greeted by claptrap
I think what made Krieg's theory more plausible to me was that in some lines during his raving retribution, it's inferred that the wife died since he states" I can't see her anymore" and how she screams while being tortured. However, while idle his inner voice (sane krieg) questions if "she" is alive or safe after getting away, implying there was two "shes" that he was aware of before going crazy, but one of them got away somehow.
I think that Zane *was* One, not in an alternate universe, but before he chose to retire, and went back to using his birth name publicly. The alternate universe was probably just the “what if??” universe where Zane kept the name “One” and never retired
Been saying this. Behind all the goofyness and humor, there’s actually plenty of lore to dive in to. Not expanded like a game as World of Warcraft, but still interesting lore nonetheless. The Guardians and their intentions. What was the Watcher predicting? Why did the seer manipulate people to the point he wanted the Great Vault to he openend? All loose ends, but all shrouded in mystery, that’s why I like Borderlands; Mindless gun shooting at enemies and exploration of lost ECHO, Hunts, etc to reveal piece by piece what is/was going on. Lotta people ignore this fact, and indeed, only look at the flaws of the game rather then put some research in it.
@@Dvdh2903 For me it's the history of the corporate wars. We know there was a Corporate war when a "Central Government" collapsed. There's so much possibility there. Not to mention the connection of Sirens. What are they? If my theory I've had for awhile is correct, Sirens (or their powers) are from the same dimension as the destroyer, and that where so much connection to him comes from.
@@familialdysautosis2717 I’m active at the Borderlands FANDOM and posted there a potential game/plot for a future Borderlands game; Borderlands Origins. What if we, instead of following the story, we get a game that dives into the past. The Corporate wars. We can create our own Corporate “Soldier”. Instead of Vault hunters and their Action skills and powers, we can play as a corporate soldier with each manufacturer their own benefits, skill trees and Action skills. We will uncover the collapse, the first arrival on Pandora, wether it be by Dahl or Atlas or by being a spy inside one of those corporations to uncover the secrets Pandora and other planets hold (Beware of Dahl’s presence on nearly any planet) There’s so much potential for such a game. And enough replayability. You can choose and create a character from any Manufacturer and instead of a class, any manufacturer has their own Ability and skill ( so in Vault Hunter terms, Action Skill and Skill tree ) Been thinking about that lately. If they do it good, it could work extremely well.
@@familialdysautosis2717 Another one, since I expect no Origins game like that will come in the near future. But a potential plot for Borderlands 4 is a Siren class that can Phasewarp. Which means, the Siren can willingly travel between Dimensions, Future and past. Maybe after Borderlands 4 we need to travel back in time to corrwct a certain timeline. This timeline would be in the time the Corporate Collapse/War happend and the Borderlands: Origins Would play right after Borderlands 4. Just theories but so interesting to think about
did you know the open books you can come across in BL3 are actually the story Marcus is telling, word for word. even though the words are a bit pixelated
It’s an old bit of info but one line i always remembered was kreig saying “martyr for my little one ” but not only does it reference his daughter but the line is triggered when the pull the pin skill is activated
The reason I believed Tina and Krieg are related is from 2 DLCs In the valentines headhunters pack, if you play as Krieg during the love potion scene. He’s describes someone that sounds like Maya and Tina. The other is in the torgue dlc. If you go to Tina’s trailer and look at the back you can see Tina riding on someone’s back. This person is missing an eye, similar to Krieg. Does this mean they are related, no. Do I still want it to be the case, yes
I swear they're teasing us on thinking that these two are related, despite having it "denied" that they are. Like why would he mention tiny Tina alongside with someone he felt so close with, like Maya? And then we see the same premise with the gold coins in his dlc? Boy if they won't drop the act in BL4, I'll riot
The quote is “THE TINY ONE AND THE SAD-FACED MOTHER AND THE BLUE TATTOO FOREVER AND EVER!” The tiny one: Tina The sad-faced mother: Kriegs wife (maybe?) Blue tattoo: Maya
I wasn't aware of the "Earl is a siren" theory. But I'm all in into it. I mean, this dude can eat a whole car only with just a fork. Only a siren could do that if you ask me
I think Krieg fit better if he knew Tina parents before the experiment and was one of many families Fleshstick stole and Tina family was sadly just part of the deadly experiment. Krieg being a Uncle keeping this Girl alive.
Cool video, love this sort of stuff but I'm surprised the Marcus's story theory is considered a theory and not just straight up canon since that's what I thought they were going for with the narration
Something to add on Tina and Krieg is it’s possible the decision to allude to her being his daughter, but still leave it open is an attempt by the Writers to put the player in Krieg’s emotional shoes. Just how for Krieg his family are always out of reach in his mind, never able to get them back, for us players the truth behind who they are (something fans clearly are interested in) is just out of reach also. The line just before the DR Benedict boss fight adds to this too “He called it a tea party” (paraphrased) given its connection to Tina’s Tea party and the possibility such a phrase may have a specific association for her its a clear choice to use it in this context but still isn’t definitive.
Honestly the keige one still makes sense to me He went on a mission to Hyperion and got captured Meanwhile Tina and his wife were undefended and flesh stick sold them out Then after that Sam 'saved him' and brought them together, of course with his mind likely breaking they became 'Samie' and well she broke him even more.
You can absolutely make a whole video on Tina being Kreig's daughter it's also def true. If you complete the special objective at the end of the tea party questline in bl2 Tina will say "I still love you"
Nah, it's not weird that Zane wouldn't care about the others killing his relatives. The Flynt family's kinda nutty; trying to get eachother killed is just a greeting to them.
Marcus one about all the games being stories is actually really heartwarmingly cute, but again telling a child about bloodbath murdering quest as bedtime stories sure fitting the whole borderlands theme.
for Krieg the reason tina could be on the coin could just be that she's treated him nicely in The Wedding Day Massacre DLC Moxxi ask if there was ever a mister or missus vault hunter and Krieg's response is "THE TINY ONE AND THE SAD-FACED MOTHER AND THE BLUE TATTOO FOREVER AND EVER! " so it could just be cause she is similar to him or idk I'm just guessing
My favourite theory is that Davis Pickle kept a copy of the AI that Jack put in the constructor from the Pre-sequel. I really want to be able to play or at least see more of him in a future installment. Davis Pickle that is.
@@Poppa_CapinyoazJack alright had his ending in the story. The Calypsos are dead too so it's not like they're the main villains going forward. I hope they just make a new villain instead.
I think Marcus is telling the stories of the vault hunters to a future child of one of the vault hunters. And in the final game(if we ever get one), that child will be one of if not, the, main character tasked with winning/stopping the war that the watcher predicted. So the final game won’t be some old story Marcus tells, but one actually experienced.
you might find this interesting but the zero number is also used to describe a connection to source on spiritual terms. There is a lot of T6, very very few T1 and can only be one T0 per universe.
@@ArinyaXoriGMVs plus I'm pretty sure it's been stated that there are only FEMALE sirens ,with Troy being the only exception because he stole Maya's power
Theory: psychos are immortal. They're in debt to the respawn machine, they can only die when their debt is paid off. Since they respawn in debt, it also takes longer to respawn so they're stuck in limbo longer than the player, maybe even for hours or days.
Crazy Earl being a siren is actually likely. It ties into my comment about how all sirens follow a theme with their powers all tieing to basic aspects like phaselocking sending things to the alternate plane, phasewalking is sending yourself to the alternate plane, astral projecting things from said plane, phaseshifting altering objects with influence of the plane, etc., in your sirens explained video. Earl could just be a siren with the power of transferrence. He becomes, or takes on the form of a singular thing from that plane, and needs eridium to keep up the disguise. In other words, Earl is both a siren and spying on the crimson raiders.
even more ludacris theory than the tina and krieg theory. if you watch the video you are referring to again, you might realize that absolutely none of the things we know about sirens fits with what we know about earl.. well.. with the exception of him wanting eridium. why does he want eridium? we dont know ( him wanting it for hs daughter as stated in this video here is based on... what exactly?no echo logs, no hints from Earl himself... nothing) sometimes characters only serve gameplay purposes.. and earl's purpose for the player is to get sdu upgrades/ cosmetics. as much as i want to Earl to be something more than just a black market vendor, your thesis ( not even a theory ) fails. he isnt a woman, he hasnt shown any signs of siren powers, and none of the sirens have noticed him. no offense btw.
@@bobrooney3336 it's almost like I accounted for that in my comment here and my comment in the other video. Ludicrous to think that if you just read my entire comment here you might have an idea of what I was talking about.
I love everything about borderlands specially the facts about the history of character and the mysteries I mean Borderlands is something unique and way more different than any other games
Was about to say, what about the Seraph-Vendor? And iirc, there's some Echo or NPC stating that Crazy Earl eats the Eridium (or at least theorized about it). He also ate a Plane, with a Fork.
Theory: Marcus is telling the tales in past tense and when the Great War happens he’ll finally have caught up. It’s him explaining to someone how they got to where they are now.
Don’t ever stop with borderlands videos.Your stuff is the absolute best out there I’ve watched with much joy and respect for years my friend.Keep up the amazing content.
Imagine Borderlands 4 being told by another person which is the orphan there grown up. He grows up to become a serious yet sarcastic narrator guy sounding like the one in kurzgesagt videos. Or heck what if Gearbox really hires that guy for the role.
i have a theory about moonstones and why earl was collecting them to support the “crazy earl siren” theory. because it’s established that there’s a vault on elpis AND elpis itself is a vault key, what if moonstones are pieces of the moon that are super charged by eridian energy and maybe crazy earl thought he could use those to sustain his daughter-in-theory
One not touched upon: The Borderlands franchise takes place in the distant future of the Fallout franchise. Specifically, one of the long-term goals of Robert House is to colonize space. Borderlands is the result of that space program.
I remember the description of the side quest “Schemin’ That Sabotage” from the first game mentions bandits selling Eridium on the Black Market (even though it’s spelled with an I). Maybe there was a way for people/Crazy Earl to harvest it before the Destroyer’s defeat
Could very well be that Eridium has always been part of Pandora, just buried very deeply with only a handful of pockets of it existing on a semi-surface level.
For the Assassin 1 theory (IK I'm very late) My guess is that the Numerical Assassins is a program by 1 of the big weapon companies (My guess would be Maliwan) who are experimenting on Mercenaries who work for the company, those mercenaries all end up getting cybernetic enhancements and just general upgrades and training, and their name is simply based on when they got the enhancements, Zero was perhaps a test run who was successful, however One is the true first, being an actual Mercenary and Assassin, hence why we have never actually seen or heard from him besides when he jumps in to save Zero, of in which he chose to leave an echo log, which would be the only evidence that it was One who was there. As for the Zane part, easy. The multiverse pack states who they would have become if they didn't become a Vault Hunter, and so Zane would've ended up becoming One in this other universe, however since we've never seen Zane himself mention anything about the name One, or anything like Zero besides that interaction about the bar, its safe to assume Zane isn't One in this universe. Also they had different voices.
personally i think zero getting sent the message of "one" isnt inherently another assasin of the same type, but a challenge because of what the number 0 symbolizes to him. maybe the writer could also be saying he got his "1" in the hunt for the vault
Just to be aware when you made this theory you were also referencing the group of assassins from Generator Rex. 6 the father figure of Rex is the sixth deadliest man in the world and there's a whole episode about the group of assassins so yeah don't forget that this is also a reference
Honestly the Vault Hunters killing Zane's family members Zane probably sees that as a sign of friendship or something since Captain Flynt occasionally sent a group of bandits after Zane as a how are you doing.
i like the theory of it all being told over again, because a nice little add on to that theory can be roped in to explaining the gameplay, and in all the times you go through the game is just them telling the story a little differently. and I like that.
2:50 I think it’s actually mordecai for a few reasons. A: he was close, or had at least known zero for some time. B: the 1 could be in reference to the shooting competition that zero had lost, and mordecai had won. C: mordecai definitely had the skill to pull off the kill as well.
It would be sick if the next borderlands game started with "story times over" or something like that and you hopped right into the gameplay. New fans might not get it but lowkey that'd go hard af
While on the topic of theory 5, I saw a similar theory somewhere claiming that the game modes were actually variations of how the story was told: Normal Mode is a tale told through rumors by aspiring Vault Hunters claiming that a ragtag group of nobodies was able to topple down a powerful corporation and an alien monster with nothing but a dinky plastic gun and gimmicky combat skills. True Vault Hunter Mode is the one that actually recounts the tale of what actually happened given the power level you experience is still reasonable. Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode is actually the story Marcus is recounting given how everything feels grander and larger than life (Also probably why slag is so important in UVHM is because he's trying to advertise that slag weapons are THE number one choice for would-be vault hunters)
Though the Krieg is Tina’s dad theory is cool, I don’t thinks it’s correct. It’s not the kinda thing gearbox would do and also it’s pretty obvious as seen in the different voices compared to the doctors orders audio logs and sane krieg’s voice are very different.
I've been dreading this video because I KNEW it would have that krieg/Tina theory in it lol. That was my favorite bl2 theory that just didn't have enough evidence and I've seen so much art of the two that it's permanently engrained in my memory.
I hope in the next main game expansion there's a complete out of left filed event or reveal. That'd be fun. Hopefully it's something no one would expect or think of but it's cool/exciting.

Krieg being tiny tina father can only happen if we learn what was the amount of time between tiny tina escape and the start of borderlands 2. Why we need to know this is because we need to know if krieg had enough time to escape from the slag experiments, become a renowned mercenary, get captured again, escapes again, and then borderlands 2 begin. If the time was a couple of years the theory works but if it was like couple of months the theory falls apart.
After the fustercluck dlc what I said can not be taken as true. The only way It can be true is if krieg came out sane after the slag experiments and then became insane after getting captured again.
Dr. Benedict also refers to Krieg as "Subject 24C" in the Borderlands 3 DLC, while the ECHOlogs from Borderlands 2 shows that Tinas dad is "Test Subject 524"
Zane does mention his family when he meets sir hammerlock “families are tricky, my brothers were constantly trying to kill me. Guess who outlived both of them”
Marcus is just going around doing his Mercenary Day thing, visiting orphanages and telling stories to the children thus future-proofing his weapon business monopoly when the kiddles grow up and want to go all "Fortune and Glory".
After Btps i hypothesized that Marcus was recounting before the war and that he's telling the story up to the events till then. But i just think it'd be cool if the end wasn't clear and Marcus was hunkered in sanctuary 3 explaining to a kid how things ended up the way they were
I like to think that something happened to Marcus that extended his life ridiculously wrong so he outlived everyone because it was his job to tell people about what happened and possibly even warn people in the future
Tbh I wouldn't mind Borderlands going into a multiverse story as I just want an excuse for Jack to come back either it could be a version of him who won or a version of him that never went insane. Just to see how the Crimson Raiders would react to his return.
Time-warp to the past of the Corporate Wars and Downfall to prevent previous events and maybe even going back in time thus far to the point we meet the “Then still living” Eridians to ask for Knowledge and how to erase or rebuild a current timeline. Axton was straight but a bug made him flirt with male characters so they made him bi. Tiny has an eye glitch so fans speculated it's a side effect of her broken sanity. Sooo yeah they can recon characters on a the fly like how Lilith get her ass handed to her by Tyreen when she should be able to flame broil Tyreen, I mean it's been said the main reason why the twins never bother to steal Amara's power is because they would get a siren fist to the face.
1. Lilith was sneak attacked, she was beating tyreen's ass until tyreen sneaked her, 2. Aston being bi was always in consideration until they decided to make it canon when that glitch was discovered

We need more Borderlands lore people. It's such a rich world if your able to look past the comedy
people only focus on the tiny flaws instead of the full picture
We will uncover the collapse, the first arrival on Pandora, wether it be by Dahl or Atlas or by being a spy inside one of those corporations to uncover the secrets Pandora and other planets hold (Beware of Dahl’s presence on nearly any planet)
There’s so much potential for such a game. And enough replayability. You can choose and create a character from any Manufacturer and instead of a class, any manufacturer has their own Ability and skill ( so in Vault Hunter terms, Action Skill and Skill tree )
Been thinking about that lately.
Seriously??
That’s actually sick asf I never knew that
It’s an old bit of info but one line i always remembered was kreig saying “martyr for my little one ” but not only does it reference his daughter but the line is triggered when the pull the pin skill is activated
The reason I believed Tina and Krieg are related is from 2 DLCs
In the valentines headhunters pack, if you play as Krieg during the love potion scene.
When Moxi ask’s Krieg if he loves someone hi says: “the Tiny one and the crying mother”, that’s confirmation right there.
@@alternator7893 who is the crying mother tho?
@@alternator7893 how is that confirmation at all though?
The quote is “THE TINY ONE AND THE SAD-FACED MOTHER AND THE BLUE TATTOO FOREVER AND EVER!”

I wasn't aware of the "Earl is a siren" theory. But I'm all in into it. I mean, this dude can eat a whole car only with just a fork. Only a siren could do that if you ask me
I believe Zane does state in game that he and his brothers didn't get along due to them being bandits and him not following the "family business"
Zane would be the most dangerous bandit of the Flynt family
I think Krieg fit better if he knew Tina parents before the experiment and was one of many families Fleshstick stole and Tina family was sadly just part of the deadly experiment. Krieg being a Uncle keeping this Girl alive.
Cool video, love this sort of stuff but I'm surprised the Marcus's story theory is considered a theory and not just straight up canon since that's what I thought they were going for with the narration
holy shit it’s the mida multi tool
Yeah fr. It's not a theory it's literally how it's portrayed in the game.
In the Borderlands Website Zane is described as a "semi-retired corporate hitman" meaning him being Assassin One is just him before he retired
I think zane does mention that he and his brothers didn’t agree on life paths, I swear I heard zane say eh fuck it
Something to add on Tina and Krieg is it’s possible the decision to allude to her being his daughter, but still leave it open is an attempt by the Writers to put the player in Krieg’s emotional shoes.
Honestly the keige one still makes sense to me
He went on a mission to Hyperion and got captured
Meanwhile Tina and his wife were undefended and flesh stick sold them out
Then after that Sam 'saved him' and brought them together, of course with his mind likely breaking they became 'Samie' and well she broke him even more.
I was thinking the same, once the merc was out of they way, they grabbed his family
You can absolutely make a whole video on Tina being Kreig's daughter it's also def true. If you complete the special objective at the end of the tea party questline in bl2 Tina will say "I still love you"
she says that to all the vault hunters IIRC
Nah, it's not weird that Zane wouldn't care about the others killing his relatives.
The Flynt family's kinda nutty; trying to get eachother killed is just a greeting to them.
Borderlands is truly the best anime.
Yeah, fuck Evangelion, this is top tier writing. Specially Borderlands 3
Borderlands is the only anime I will watch
This franchise needs Jack. The Calypsos were pathetic teenage dreck.
Another crazy theory that I've seen people cling to is Rhys Strongfork secretly being a siren.

The Zane brothers does actually make sense as zane has a voiceline explaining how his brothers tried to kill him in the story
Tbh, I always assumed Crazy Earl was a Seraph.
Or heck what if Gearbox really hires that guy for the role.
i have a theory about moonstones and why earl was collecting them to support the “crazy earl siren” theory. because it’s established that there’s a vault on elpis AND elpis itself is a vault key, what if moonstones are pieces of the moon that are super charged by eridian energy and maybe crazy earl thought he could use those to sustain his daughter-in-theory
and on what established facts within the the borderlands universe would you base that on ?
One not touched upon:
The Borderlands franchise takes place in the distant future of the Fallout franchise.
Well what a great time to hop on UA-cam
For the Assassin 1 theory (IK I'm very late)
My guess is that the Numerical Assassins is a program by 1 of the big weapon companies (My guess would be Maliwan) who are experimenting on Mercenaries who work for the company, those mercenaries all end up getting cybernetic enhancements and just general upgrades and training, and their name is simply based on when they got the enhancements, Zero was perhaps a test run who was successful, however One is the true first, being an actual Mercenary and Assassin, hence why we have never actually seen or heard from him besides when he jumps in to save Zero, of in which he chose to leave an echo log, which would be the only evidence that it was One who was there.
The Zayn log that is found on sanctuary 3 is my favorite thing about Borderlands 3.
Also kreig says "Love for my little one" sometimes when he dies
Even greedy profit mongers can become softer when they are old and lonely
Just to be aware when you made this theory you were also referencing the group of assassins from Generator Rex. 6 the father figure of Rex is the sixth deadliest man in the world and there's a whole episode about the group of assassins so yeah don't forget that this is also a reference
Zane’s assassin skin is so cool, makes me really wish this game was third person sometimes….
We need an expansion to the lore like runeterra man i NEED IT JUST A SNIFF COME ON
Honestly the Vault Hunters killing Zane's family members Zane probably sees that as a sign of friendship or something since Captain Flynt occasionally sent a group of bandits after Zane as a how are you doing.
"...or the stories were just stupid?"
It's about Borderlands you're talking. That ship sailed at the start.
i like the theory of it all being told over again, because a nice little add on to that theory can be roped in to explaining the gameplay, and in all the times you go through the game is just them telling the story a little differently. and I like that.
Wow those theories are CRAZY
2:50 I think it’s actually mordecai for a few reasons. A: he was close, or had at least known zero for some time. B: the 1 could be in reference to the shooting competition that zero had lost, and mordecai had won. C: mordecai definitely had the skill to pull off the kill as well.
i think marcus is a time traveler because in the first game he says im sure we'll be doing this all again soon enough
It would be sick if the next borderlands game started with "story times over" or something like that and you hopped right into the gameplay. New fans might not get it but lowkey that'd go hard af
While on the topic of theory 5, I saw a similar theory somewhere claiming that the game modes were actually variations of how the story was told:
Normal Mode is a tale told through rumors by aspiring Vault Hunters claiming that a ragtag group of nobodies was able to topple down a powerful corporation and an alien monster with nothing but a dinky plastic gun and gimmicky combat skills.
I’ve been watching your content for a few years and the quality gets better and better don’t stop making amazing content
I love your content man! Keep going!
Second
"one" is assassin oney. he probably calls himself one or something.
I hope in the next main game expansion there's a complete out of left filed event or reveal. That'd be fun. Hopefully it's something no one would expect or think of but it's cool/exciting.
Here's one, The Destroyer is actually the good guy. And yes, is still alive inside its prison that is the planet pandora. Possibility? Less than .01 percent.

Marcus’s bean burritos are the reason people came to pandora
i have a theory that FL4K, Zer0 and even possibly Zane and his family were created by someone (not specifically hyperion)
FL4k is obviously made of machinery but Zane and Zer0 might be biologically engineered
marcus does actually start to warm up to children in bl2 just a small bit in his headhunter dlc, it's not a lot but it's believable this is what snowballs him into telling stories to a child later on
marcus is a dissociated personality of crazy earl telling stories to his dead/alive child

Guess who outlived both of them”
I like the Krieg theory.
But i just think it'd be cool if the end wasn't clear and Marcus was hunkered in sanctuary 3 explaining to a kid how things ended up the way they were
I thought that Earl was somehow related to Eridians or Sirens with his obsession eridium
