It's a rental from Turo, there's video of the guy but he allegedly used a fake ID. He bought it to a Tesla meet and did this. There were 4 people in the car who ran away after crashing it.
I feel like I’m missing out on a lot of information, because everyone keeps saying it’s just a rental. I drive past this corner all the time I know exactly where this is that was a serious seriously f****** crazy thing to do that guy caught massive air he must have been going up that hill at 120 miles an hour.
Okay so for some more context from all this: the Tesla driver actually didn't own the Tesla he jumped, it was actually a rental car. After the jump apperantly the driver fled the scene. The LAPD (according to some sources) have been somewhat trying to find the guy and charge him with Hit and Run. Regarding Alex Choi. He originally hosted a Tesla car meetup at a store to see what Tesla owners do to their cars. It was a simple meet and drive on the interstate. After the Tesla meet one of the tesla drivers mentioned to Alex to come to Echo Park because this hill is where another UA-camr had his Tesla jump two years prior. When Alex arrived there was already a group of people there and the driver was already down the hill with the car already turned around. That's when the guy jumped the car and crashed it. Alex then went down to check if the occupants (I believe driver, two or three passengers, and a stray cat they picked up) were okay. They said they were then people started leaving. Alex then returned to access the damage the guy had done then went home. In his video and description he says that he himself does not support the actions people like the Tesla driver do and hopes those involved do face justice. Regarding the guy who's Subaru got hit: he apparently (according to him, could not find other sources to support this) posted a video about what happened and was apperantly Copyright striked by Alex for using his footage (again haven't seen evidence supporting this and Alex has not responded to this). The guy then posted a video about the current state of his car (front suspension damaged) and that he has set up a GoFundMe for repair costs for his SUV. This is what I have been able to find by searching. I'm not gonna say this is 100% accurate, just what I have been able to find and put together.
It's not only inaccurate it's very obvious lies to me. Like they arrived at the scene just at the moment when the video starts. Seems unlikely that the one who got there last makes the viral video of it. He was clearly enabler, organizer and instigator all in one person.
They must be pushing an agenda too how does this qualify as a primetime news video id rather see more on the gov corruptions and id love to see fauci hung
Hopefully they catch the guy and throw the book at him. And those cops should be fired- isn't there something that says if they refuse to do their jobs they can be terminated? Dude clearly showed reckless driving; property damage like money owed has a set limit where it changes from misdemeanor to felony. It was a rental, how hard could it be to track the guy down? Unless he's like the Mayor's son or some bs like that.
The launch of the jump depends on how your car flys through the air not always the car😂 in this case it was the jump. No matter what car you have whether it’s a Tesla or a Baja Truck it’s going to nose dive
As an EV enthusiast, a technology guy by trade I like EVs but what this guy did was insane, unsafe and very dangerous. You can't time other people as they're exiting their home, walking across the street or whatever the case. This is why the caution signs and speed limits are in place. This could have very well been a regular car doing something as asinine as this so it doesn't have much to do the it being a Tesla other than the idiot driving thought his car and himself must be invincible.

At least THEY are safe? What a stupid remark. They should be in jail. For reckless conduct and felony property damage. It's by the grace of God that an innocent person(s) wasn't walking their dog along the road at that moment. Even the stupid asses waiting there with their phones ready to film should be charged with aiding and abetting in stupidity and reckless conduct.
blame the DA... now u have a chance to remove him, RECALL GASCON!
Already signed the recall.
WTF and the cops are always sweating me around this neighborhood. And you have a guy in a f ing Tesla, with no regard for life flying over a residential area not knowing who is one the other side,
Jeopardizing lives and homes. This is Echo Park, not Six Flags !
LA has the best road rules in the world as long you do not point a gun at anyone while driving
Also has the worst drivers
Shouldn’t be difficult to find out who the driver was unless they stole the vehicle
It's a rental from Turo, there's video of the guy but he allegedly used a fake ID. He bought it to a Tesla meet and did this. There were 4 people in the car who ran away after crashing it.
@@Matt18001 4 people + 1 stray cat the occupants found earlier and was in the car for the innagural flight.
@@Matt18001 if he rented off Turo there is a credit card trail.
I feel like I’m missing out on a lot of information, because everyone keeps saying it’s just a rental. I remember when I rented a car that was literally 1/4 price of a this Tesla, they wanted all sorts of documentation and for me to sign a bunch of agreements incase I intentionally break the car so they can hold me liable for the damage. Seems to me like everyone just saying all you need is a California ID and boom here you go 100k Tesla, enjoy.

If this is illegal yet police do nothing about it, what’s the point of having police exactly?
If the driver had spent less time watching Fast and Furious and playing GTA 5, rather than studying physics and common sense, he would have known that the when you jump a car like that, it's going to land front end first.
Why does everyone always say GTA V when there are many other GTA games like it?
To op you think your so clever but fail to realise he was trying to do 360/loop de loop!!!!
Wait, dont the cars in GTA 5 have similar nose down physics to the real thing?
The neighbors need to get together and sue him, and all the companies sponsoring and encouraging the driver. Maybe get a crowd and seek a protective order against the driver
Ok Peggy Karen.
People trying to act like that jump wasn’t the most full send, funniest automotive stunt in years.
@Chris Donahue Absolutely, that jump was downright legendary.
Speed bumps up one side and down the other and a circle turn around at the top of the hill will solve everything.
YES! It works. The city of Sacramento did that in my neighborhood and it stopped speeders. Lots of kids around.
Let's be realistic instead of being hysterical ok? Lucky if they get half a speed bump
I've been on that road. It's not a big enough intersection for a circle turn.
@@victortoombs4754 it can be made big enough. If the city and the residents of the neighborhood get together and make it work. The neighborhood needs help not negativity.
@@jm100368 Please explain? what is so hysterical about trying to help the neighborhood.
That guy has more class than any of the Tesla owners.
Child shush
This was a clear attempt for people to click on the video. Nothing but an attempt to make money. It was posted prior to the run, that he was going to do it. UA-cam should shut him down.
Don't complain about the added danger. Echo Park is known for a drive-by shootings. The added risk is at a very minimum.
Another fine example in why California doesn't make any sense with their laws. It's ok. To do Wreckless driving in the neighborhood & post it on UA-cam Nothing wrong with that. 👏👏awesome California!😑
Southern California* up here in northern is where the real drivers are at.
@@Luna_AlmondSF southern California is becoming hipster valley with anarchy . The north has always been better
In the olden days, all the kids in the neighborhood would watch as they would jump trying to achieve airborne on Baxter. Of course the high the jump the louder the applause. That tesla on the video would have gotten a 10-minute recognition by clapping and yelling from the neighborhood. That stunt is safer now than in the past, now a day Baxter is one way and only going downhill. Maybe someday in the future, I hope 2 cars attempt to fly over Alvarado from the opposite sides at the same time.
antonio.....I see we had similar youths! My dad used to take me down a road called "Thrill Hill" and get airborne in his 1972 Chevy truck. No seatbelt or child seats back then either. Somehow, I survived.
People worried over a car jump that didn't harm anyone or anyone's property. Go put your masks on children and socially distance!
@@glizzytoucher2301 What subaru is that? Was a parked car hit in this video? If so, I didn't see it when I watched the video. If a car was hit, then of course my opinion changes. Property damage, leaving scene of an accident, etc.

Tesla, gets jettisoned
Average day in SF:

Hopefully they catch the guy and throw the book at him. And those cops should be fired- isn't there something that says if they refuse to do their jobs they can be terminated? Dude clearly showed reckless driving; property damage like money owed has a set limit where it changes from misdemeanor to felony. It was a rental, how hard could it be to track the guy down? Unless he's like the Mayor's son or some bs like that.
The rich people should have put weight in the back of the Tesla for the nose not to dip that much forward.
Tesla's are pretty balanced. The driver just needs to gun the motors to rotate nose up, just like monster trucks or R/C cars.
@@foxtrotwolf6081 Ah, I forgot about that. I think if you brake the car it flips 😆

Elon musk needs to balance these cars out. The front was to heavy there for causing the driver to loose control

The launch of the jump depends on how your car flys through the air not always the car😂 in this case it was the jump. No matter what car you have whether it’s a Tesla or a Baja Truck it’s going to nose dive
