  • NDO Champ a body builder vs Tony Jeffries an Olympic boxer on a shoulder and body sparring match. You will get more than boxing sparring tips from this match such as the advantage of having experience and body conditioning, the importance of discipline and determination, and many more. I would highly recommend do shoulder and body sparring only as this is safer especially for your brain.

Nice video Tony! I’m so pleased that you mentioned the importance of not head sparring. Too many youngsters think it’s an imperative. I’ve just started body sparring again at 65.
Post stem cell transplant for blood cancer January 2021. Two new hips prior to that. It’s amazing the demands it places on us. We did 6x 90 second rounds. I’m giving away 30 pound and 20 years. But my experience gets me through. My partner hasn’t fought, thankfully!
I took a left hook to my side which hurt me enough to pause for a count, then another to the same spot, for another longer count, before finishing the session. I don’t remember ever taking a shot like that from a body punch. Must be getting old!
I tell you this though. I made a point of getting back to conditioning my mid section, which I hadn’t really bothered too much with. I certainly don’t want to experience that again in a hurry.
    Best wishes Tony🥊

Tony’s right on head sparring and I give him credit for saying it.
I sparred a month ago, at 55, and detached my vitreous, which holds the retina in place so to speak. I need to wait another month to see whether the retina detaches-the first 60 days is the critical period. And during that sparring, not 1 shot had me in trouble of going down or taking a knee or 8 count.
