It's great to see you guys do something new since the flashlight inserts. Hope to see a soft flame butane insert soon!
Its here now! Zippo soft flame inserts!
One thing i noticed that could be a real issue, is that i don't see any advice on bleeding in the instructional insert. If Zippo has invented a butane that doesn't have to be bled before filling or refilling, it will be a first! I had to bleed my brand new one right off the bat as it wasn't gonna take the full amount of fuel and sputtered a few times on lightup and then died after lighting two cigars. Once i bled it and refilled, it's been fine. New butane users might not have a clue about bleeding and send lots of Zippos back for repair or just chuck them!
How do you bleed it specifically? I’m running into the issue of it not lighting or staying lit. Do you just press on the valve on the bottom?
@@anthonyamato9832 Thank you, for this helpful information, Anthony. I never heard of "bleeding out" a lighter before. So I had absolutely no clue what this is about... Your link explained it very well. First removing the air out of the lighter, before filling it with butane. I've should known this before filling my new Zippo butane insert today. Just did it without bleeding. Now I'm curious how long it will last.
Anyway, your advice is highly appreciated. :-)
Ran into the same issue here. Never knew either I appreciate the info I'll have to research how to bleed it thanks again.
Oh YES! Finally an official way to get torch classic zippos
Right!? Exciting things happening here at Zippo!
I've had mine for a week and it's working perfectly!
4 days and love it! Chuck you end up getting the 2 flame or single flame?
John Russell I went with the double torch👍🏻
Glad you like it!
@twinturboraymine is still working perfectly
Mine just got delivered I can’t wait to get home from work
Yep, the release of these may turn a corner in the cigar lighter market. I see Cigar Prop on UA-cam doing a vid today. Zippo NEEDS the cigar smoker market. In addition to the new butane inserts, a little secret is that the Slim Zippo is the greatest soft flame cigar lighter out there. With the wick trimmed even with the chimney, the flame size is perfect for toasting, lighting, and touchups on cigars. I use an original '58 14k Slim with the old Hollywood trick of placing a tiny piece of brass brazing rod below the flint in the flint tube to put a little extra pressure on the flint. I also, in addition to cleaning the wick and inside of chimney etc with a fluid soaked Q-tip once a month, burnish the outside of the chimney with a gun cleaning type bronze or brass toothbrush. Gives it a gorgeous antiqued look. Zippo should do the Venetian design on an ARMOR BRASS case with the word "cigar" inside the initial panel with room left for name engraving, and sell it standard with the new butane insert. This would be classic and would sell on multiple different levels---the cigar market, Venetian collector market, the armor collector market etc.
It's a good insert. I have had my double torch for about a year now. I like that it's heavy. And it works without a fail on every click. You also don't have to fill it every week. It smells better than the regular zippos and you can use it sideways which is a huge plus if you're like me who uses it to light also things other than cigarettes, like the fireplace and candles and all that.
But there are few things I don't like or could be improved upon. The spring under the lid holder what ever you call that moving thing is actually rather stiff so it doesn't open all the way every time you open the lighter. Also the lower part of the insert isn't long enough or tapers too quickly after the zippo cover so when it closed the lid wiggles sideways which it doesn't do with regular inserts.
Hey, Joonas! We're so glad you're loving your insert 😁 If you contact our Consumer Relations Team, they should be able to help.

@@viktorbezvidkhodko2199 The insert doesn't actually say where it's made but yeah most likely.

Hi MT, at this time we do not have any information on a soft flame butane insert being available. We are always coming out with new items, so you may see them in the future.
Can you use zippo lighter fluid
Hi, Quinn. No, Zippo Premium Lighter Fuel is not compatible with the butane inserts. They require butane fuel.
What country are you located in? We should be able to direct you to where you can purchase some!
@@zippo where in the UK can you get the right type of butane? Unable to find Ronson or Zippo butane fuel anywhere but I can find Clipper butane fuel, I'm assuming that too would work?
Hi, Jos! We always recommend using genuine Zippo Butane Fuel for your Butane Lighter Insert.
We suggest contacting your local distributor in the UK for more help! Here's how to get in touch: www.zippo.co.uk/pages/contact-us or call +44 (0) 208 9640666.
This is pretty cool. I intend to buy the single torch insert for when I’m lighting fireworks
You should make a soft flame version but instead of a button, a flint wheel would add the classic zippo look.
The only issue there might be with this is that in the current design the button is the mechanism that releases gas but if you put a wheel there would be no way to shut the butane valve when the cap is open but you aren't using it.
I have no idea what I'm talking about but if the perfect design suggested in this comment is possible, that would be wonderful.
It would look like a regular zippo insert but the fuel doesn't evaporate... Perfect.
There are currently a couple of 3rd party gas inserts that release gas when the lid is open, it works pretty well when you're used to it.
Its pretty great
The best presentation.
We agree 😍
You guys need to make a soft flame butane inserts, stoners need it worldwide.
I got my butane jet insert and it's great. Any plans on making a soft flame butane insert?
This is more reliable than the wick type and more economical. My wick type zippo easily runs out of fuel due to evaporation and hot weather. ( I live here in the Philippines) Need to carry my lighter fluid handy in my pouch bag each time I go out . I tend to refill it frequently so I have to go cheap on lighter fluid.
I was about to return my single torch model before I started tinkering with it. I think Zippo would get fewer RMAs if the QA at the manufacturing plant (China) was just a tad better. I know how to bleed and fill butane lighters, and I even used Zippo-branded butane. The issue, you may ask? The igniter electrode was bent almost all the way up, and it came out of the packaging this way. Bending the electrode down with my fingernail actually turned it into a functioning lighter. Now, instead of it lighting maybe 1 in 10 attempts, it lights 9 out of 10 times. Still love Zippo products! Maybe I just got one from a bad batch...
Hi, there. We appreciate your feedback and we'll pass it along to the appropriate teams.
@@zippo Thanks, pretty sure it was just a rogue occurrence. The insert is still working great after bending the electrode into a position where the spark would consistently ignite the butane.
What's a good indicator when the chamber is full when refilling?
Please make the butane soft flame, we all want that
Hi, there. We appreciate your feedback! You never know what our team has planned. Stay tuned
I got double torch insert before two months from authorized dealer. It doesn't work after butane filling. After that I purge it one time and light fine. Try to purge it and/or push the electrode towards the case. Best butane insert I 've ever had.
ΓΙΑΝΝΗΣ ΡΟΙ Hey !! I’m facing several issues with mi single torch insert :( , I already tried to purge and push the electrode to several positions , any other suggestion ?
Oscar first of all check the gas valve. Can you hear the gas after sparkling? If not you can't fill the lighter. Try to fill your lighter pushing the valve repeatedly to check if the gas filling.
what will happen if we don't use Zippo or Ronson fule?
Nice to see a butane with a fuel window (sight glass) lighter...
Hi there!
I saw its almost available in The Netherlands. 20-01-2020 according to the website.
Few questions though.
Where can I get the fuel? Cannot find it on the website.
What is the 'best' to get? Single or double? Regular use.
Thanks in advance!

@@zippo Just curious, will Zippo ever release a titanium case and insert? If so, is it possible to be added to a pre-order list or even an email notification list (if ever)?
Is it supposed to fit with the armor cases or just the regular ones? I ordered an insert and an armor case and when I tried to place the butane insert into the armor case it squeezes the hinge out of place on the case to where it won't close. Even when I tried to place the standard insert back in the case, the hinge was bent out of shape and wouldn't close without me prying it over.

This insert is freaking awesome! Mine works perfeclty...my question for Zippo is , if it breaks, can u send it back to zippo like we do with the reg inserts when they break for replacement? Thanks.
Hi, there Our butane and arc inserts are backed by a 2-year warranty.
@@zippo i know they are but what happens if they break after the 2 year mark? Can u sent them in like I did with my reg insert for repair ? I'm guessing No. Also why is it i can't find the reg inserts anywhere anymore? Not on ur site either. When my insert broke i sent it to u guys, which was great cuz they are replaced free of charge , but had to wait 6 weeks. So def curious to hear back about this.
Hi Guys - I just received my double butane insert for my trusty zippo. I got it to toast cigars, which I have recently taken up. I watched the video, followed the video for the inaugural fill, filled the insert and left it bare outside on the porch to 'air out'? I also turned the flame screw down to a minimal setting. Is there any other recommendation vis a vis first time fill? Or anything I need to change when filling again after this fill runs out? And MOST IMPORTANTLY, if I am using it for lighting cigars, how big a flame is normal? Don't want to launch anything into space! Thanks.

Which model should I take? The single, the double or the arc?
I'd say single because if you wanted to smoke out a pipe or something u wouldn't damage your bowl if it's a smaller bowl.
Hello, I'm thinking of buying, but I'm undecided between the single and the double.. What do you recommend?

Mine is only working on the maximum Level and even then it has way to much dropouts and dont fills well enough it seems, its also the second one i ordered cause i returned the first cause of the above Problems. @@zippo they told me exact the same things i already know. I followed a UA-cam Instruction now where i unscrewed the back plate and remove the copper ring from the adjustment screw and now it works "fine" with always adjusting the screw. It really seems there ist not enough pressure in the botan tank to keep the torch alive! After a view clicks or cigars, the tank cant equalize the pressure anymore so you always need to adjust the torch Size to compare this and on basic setting its already on max to work with...
Does the insert fit into any case? My lighter keeps popping out the case whenever I flick it open!

Is this butane insert battery powered? What type of battery? Is it possible to change the battery when it runs out?
Hi, Leo! Our Butane Lighter Insert runs off of our Zippo Butane Fuel. Both our Double Torch and Single Torch Butane Inserts have a life expectancy of up to 10,000 cycles.
@@zippo thanks for the feedback.
I think I didn't express myself well. the fuel i know is butane. I want to know if the spark is produced by battery or flints, and if it runs out it is possible to replace it. 10000 cycles i think it's use baterry for spark, right? Is It replaceble after the 10000 cycles?
do it work on 1941 case ??
The inserts will fit in Classic, Armor, 1942 Replica, and Vintage cases. But if you're carrying a Slim or 1935 Replica model, the butane insert won't fit, as those models take a specially-sized insert.
这是新品种吗?
I can only get butane lighters in Canada from zippo..... but zippo does not sell butane.... why
it does now
or just don't let me know that the fluid will spray all over the place , if i don't use the correct size entry nozzle ...
Does Ronson fuel work?
If it's Ronson-brand Butane it will work, can't use old-fashioned lighter fluid in these like the standard Zippo insert, it's gotta be Butane.
Thanks for your help! That's correct. This lighter insert uses butane fuel, and the Ronson brand will work.

I'm so divided between single flame or dual. Why? I have no idea haha :p But I do know that I need one of these soon.
How about both? 😁

Brilliant, but the video is too fast to read the text. You really need to get these in the hands of a select group of youtube reviewers to compare with the other branded inserts, and do some reviews in depth.
Am I correct in assuming that the thumb lever activates the flow of butane, and that the cam does not?
Please, tell me you are working on an insert that uses a flint rather than a piezo ignitor. The flint is part of the experience, and is a simpler and more robust principle.
It would be really nice to see a version intended for pipes specifically, with a 45 degree angle on the flame.
Is the construction all metal? And how long is the warranty?
Great suggestions! You are correct. The button ignites the flame. Yes, they are all metal construction. And the warranty is 2 years.
Why not more than 10 seconds

Have you managed to fix it? Search for "zippo butane fix" on youtube. It fixed mine kinda. But honestly, the quality of these things is pretty bad.
I don't get the point of double. Single torch get the job done, double is just a waste of resource because it consumes extra unless you light two cigarettes in your mouth at once which i don't think anybody does. Even cigar can be lit by single torch.
It's better for cigars.
Who's here come from sunmedia?
shocking for cigars. last one cigar if you are lucky!
Ah, the classic mistake of a new butane user: *I didn't hold the lighter and fuel upside down when filling*
I figure this is a common mistake though, cuz its a gas-based substance, not liquid. Oh well, the more ya know, I guess!
Thanks! I almost replaced mine and go back with the normal Lighter fluid (which is always good to have on backup).
Would it cost you that much to make a sealed insert so we can enjoy a classic zippo that doesn't need to be recharged every three days? I love your products but the fact that you made butane insert but can't make a properly sealed one, is simply baffling in my opinion.

@@zippo Thanks for the answer but I was talking about the standard zippo insert not the butane one, the fuel in it evaporates too quickly and I constantly find myself empty. This is a known issue of your lighters and one I've found in all of your lighters (and I have quite a collection). As I said, I love your products but a bit of innovation for your classic insert to fix this problem would be nice.
Ahh, okay! We're sorry about that. Zippo lighter fluid is a petroleum distillate, which means it will eventually evaporate even when not in use. There are a few things you can do to limit the evaporation, though. Make sure you keep the lid closed when you're not using the lighter, and keep it upright and away from heat or direct sunlight. Hope that helps!
