It’s becoming increasingly difficult to be excited about new trucks, they are pretty much unobtainable with how expensive they are.
@@Jbs6187 bruhhhhh i feel this exact same thing. Aerospace engineer but can't afford these trucks bc theyre 50k+ lol
Manufacturers raise prices every year because people still buy them up, regardless of price.
I just picked up a brand new Laramie for under $60k. It doesn't have the 19 speakers or air suspension or 12 way lumbar -- but it has enough for me to feel like I'm in a luxury truck.
Even the midsize trucks are getting way up there for the offroad packages like the Frontier pro4x and the Tacoma trd pro. I just settled for a 2017 frontier but I actually go offroad. Diesels just a waste of money if its not making money.
They keep going up in price because people keep buying them but I'll buy it used I don't mind
Andre you always have the best non-biased and informative reviews! Great coverage and this truck looks amazing. The interior is definitely class leading! The Denali Ultimate is menacing. I love the Denali’s interior too.🔥
I’m a huge Chevrolet fan but a also a GMC supporter and they really hit a home run with the new truck. Love the new look inside and out of the Denali, always been luxurious without going near the six figure mark, Ford and Ram are just inches of that number. Can’t wait for the AT4X HD truck, that would be my choice. Great job, Andre and TFL.
In this day and age I find myself not a fan of any brand anymore...It seems they have forgotten about what earned their reputations and are living off days gone by.
$90,000 truck and it has the same rough texture unpainted plastic fender trim as a base model. Gotta love GM for being consistent.
You can have them color matched from factory it’s not that much for the option.
Don’t be butt hurt because you can’t afford it just get the base model like I did I’m not crying about it.
90k? Where I live it would be 110k easily,
!
The headlights looks like the tundra and not very appealing
Well, it's still a truck, and those areas are damage prone. You're basically arguing that the thing designed to protect your paint isn't painted 🤣
Thing is in a couple of years that "rust " colored stuff shows up, gm completely misses that problem ( the hubcaps? are just stupid)
I refuse to call Mt. McKinley anything other than what I learned from Geography class at school. Really a nice looking truck.
The fact it still has a column shifter makes it worth every penny. Plus inside and out it looks amazing.
All manufacturers of the big 3 offers column shifter for 3/4 & 1 tons
So no console shift option even on high spec models.
I'll pass on the column shifter. In fact I'll pass completely and get a huge SUV instead. I hardly tow or carry anything like most Americans with pickups
True !
Ram and it’s turn dial is garbage, engineers don’t realized human touch ; we like the experience of pulling and switching clicking things
@@dr.romeoconfidential9271 I have a 2012 1500 and the column shifter is very convenient and I can manually use the tap +/- button to lock out or downshift the gears while towing
I like how gm is been using the same engine just doing updates on them is way better then changing powertrain and having problems all the time

I still prefer the Chevy, but I do love the looks of this one. GM is doing a monumental job with their designs and engineering in general the past few years. Just yesterday I was mind blown with the Z06, as I was with the Cadillac Escalade V, the Hummer EV, the updates on the Colorado and Silverado. The Tahoe RST, everything its peak on its segment. 👏🏽 👏🏽
The hummer looks badass but I disagree with making it an EV. GM should've brought back Saturn as an EV test platform.
@@TheeAbstractHero you know what I agree.. Saturn should've been the EV test platform

Andre and company putting in the work. Let’s go TFL team!
Thank you for watching!
Haven't forgotten about the bailout
I never will, I will never buy one for that very reason.
Neither have I
Who cares? It's been 13 years. Also, let's not pretend as if GM is the only automaker taking government assistance. The all have.
What about fords $6 Billion loan from the government that they haven’t paid back and have been deferring? Lol Every manufacturer has something.
Also in the 13 years since, we've seen the volt, an amazing failure. Buick is practically nonexistent as an American brand, gm itself oddly trying to make you not believe its "even a buick " in its own advertising, and what most recently comes to mind for me is the April of this year gm buyback of silverado and sierra dmax trucks, along with how many stories of gas trucks lifters destroying the entire engine. But good news IS coming from gm at least according to gm because they, and us, will no have to worry about those pesky ICE engines thanks to GM and their government buddies.
Having those USB ports by the drinks is a huge issue in the making. Just one spill and they're toast.

I bought a 22 3500 high country srw the upgrades definitely make me want to reup for the 24 hopefully the trade values stay way up there I could see myself driving an ultimate!
The front looks a lot better than the previous model 😊
I’m a dodge fan but this has definitely changed my option !!! They really stepped it up!!! This unit looks good !!!
I love GMC trucks I would definitely choose the Denali ultimate over any other truck
I actually really like the new dually wheels! Clean and modern!
Well, I don't know if it is the most luxurious truck ever built but it cetainly is getting to be the most expensive. These diesel tow vehicles are really rearching the price ceilings. At least it apperas that GM has lost interest in the torque wars, about time.
They’ve blown passed the price ceiling. All of them!
Yeah it's super annoying to those of us who just want a diesel tow pig, LT, bench seat, column shift, no crazy driver assists. I bought my '08 duramax LT crew cab z71 for $43,000. It's almost double the price now.
@@OscyJack-, yeah, it’s terrible that things have progressed. With progression comes increased cost. The best “bang for buck” is a Ram with the Tradesmen trim.
The big three have figured out their client basis, most people own businesses and use these vehicles for business. When you run it thru your business you get to write off the depreciation so the sky’s the limit with pricing.
@@OscyJack- and a better truck! No DEF crap and just a great old truck that'll keep on going.
Andre that new GMC HD looks so so cool man! But I can't wait for the new ZR2 HD and the AT4X HD too.
The overload springs on the 2500 are great. A lot of people need to keep the gvwr on their truck below 12k because they have a 14k trailer and want to stay below 26k. Be great to see the lower trims too.
Well done! Heck of a lot of specs and data in 17+ minutes. Thank you.
Beautiful! Nice thorough job detailing the new changes. I prefer the GMC over the Chevy look, though this 2024 year is getting closer. I didn't see SuperCruise though I thought that was promised for the HD trucks too.
Does gm have supercruise on any hd trucks? Ford and ram do, right?
Thank you FL TRuck for another great review
My ‘22 Ram 3500 has 4700 miles on it. I’m seriously considering trading for a ‘24 GMC 3500. They are absolutely beautiful.
You are such a liar
The exuberant amount for Trucks takes away most if not all it has to offer.

C'mon Andre...why didn't you slam them for the trailer brake location. How many of us would false trigger trailer brakes now? There's a reason it's been tucked away out of sight...this sums up GM, they are the Bud Light of the automotive industry. They don't understand their base. Btw, that Allison 10 SPD is the same as Fords right?
I love your guys videos and I'm subscribed to all your channels I would recommend though like showing the blinker back up light headlights on and stuff like that, no pressure.
Best looking heavy duty truck by far and that new interior is pretty sweet too. Gm is really killing it atm.
They still have incandescent lisence plate lights for 2023!? 😱 come on GM!
GM tech team: "how much bezels do we want to eliminate?"
GM owners: "none"
I like it . Cant afford it but it looks cool!
Unless they plan to go with massive rubber, the idea of a 22" rims on 10 ply tires is just silly.
They had one at the Tampa RV Show a couple weeks ago. The 18" wheels really stood out. I could tell as soon as I saw the truck.
I'm still a Ford guy but a wheel upgrade for the F350 would be most welcomed.
I like the gmc look
I bought a 2021 Ford F-450 Platinum in January 21. I drove it about 19k miles in 6 months and loved it other than a minor oil leak at 2500 miles that the second dealer I took it to fixed it easily but the DEF issue wasn't fixed. With the insane market of the last couple years the dealer I bought it from bought it back for about $5k over my all in price before the DEF fault was figured out. I found a 46k mile rust free 09 Silverado 3500 Duramax in Montana so I flew out from Maryland and drove it home. I'm surprised how much of the wonderful features on the new truck that I don't miss as much as I thought I would. I really miss things like adaptive cruise control, ventilated seats, massaging seats, and the heated steering wheel but not having to fill the DEF or worry about the emissions system failing. I don't mill the power as much as I thought I would, the LMM with a few mods is plenty powerful for the towing I do even when I'm out west in the mountains. That all being said I'm really tempted to get another new truck with how the new Super Duty and GM HD trucks look! I still think even with all the problems I had with my F-450 I would chose another new one of them because the wide track front axle is just so amazing. Either while towing, especially backing up, or the few times I drove it around without a trailer the way it would turn going through a parking lot was nearly as easy as my Grand Cherokee! I truly wish GM and Ram would make a regular production pickup with the wide track front axle. Not only would I like having the choice but you'd think they'd see how Ford has been selling every 450 that get to dealers even before the craziness of the market. Of course what seems to make sense to outsiders doesn't seem to dawn on the manufacturers otherwise they would see the prices of old diesel Excursions and make a new one or a 2500 Suburban. Thanks for reading my rant and as always TFL you're making wonderful content!
Enjoying my '22 450....my son bought one at the same time as I did, we waited 6 and 8 months for delivery.
He actually sold his for $20k over what we paid.....he really didn't have the need for that much truck.
Like you mentioned, the turning radius is amazing.....especially coming from an F-350.
I've made 4 trips with mine pulling aprox. 15,000 pounds.....very rarely driven when not towing.
It certainly is a DEF whore, but no problems yet.
What was your DEF malfunction??
The GMC grill reached it's peak in about 2014. It's time to let the square grill go because it no longer flows with the rest of the grill. The frontend has become way too busy and overthought. Give me a 2014 any day over this.
Oh Willard. We both know you would much rather have this truck than a 2014.
@@Wangchung405 my post was clearly about the frontend. I haven't test drove a 2024 yet so I wouldn't know.

Just bought one today. Trade in my 2021 2500 chevy high country and love the Denali
WOW, the dually looks 10 times better than the new Ford trucks. This truck is amazing, and I am sure it comes with a amazingly high price.
That thing is insanely cool. Can’t wait to see the more mainstream trim levels.
This is the best lookin pickup truck period . This refresh did the HDs wonders . Curious if you can get the 6.6 gasser in the Denali ultimate . The 10 speed should maximize its potential
This truck is so ugly, it should be called the "Lori Lightfoot" special edition.
ABSOLUTE BEAUTY
I love how the front and back lights are basically copying ford.
Thank you, been saying this since i first saw it!
I’m so happy this still has the good ol gas/diesel V8 engines!!!!!!
The interior looks better but the big question is, have they finally put better seats in these trucks. GM trucks have the worst seats in the segment. I don't really care for the design of the truck. The grill is too big, the mirrors still look bad and the wheel wells are funky looking. Honestly, I think the Chevy looks better, especially the interior.
I’m wondering the same. My friends trail boss is like a park bench!

I know, let’s build a truck nobody can afford!
Great idea Ken!

You can’t say you have the most “luxurious” when you have plastic fender covers. If those were painted to match the paint, it would look 1000% better. Without that, the truck looks cheap. Plus, I’m not sure how GM can only make square wheel wells.
Because square body was the last iconic truck they made and now they are stuck forever chasing it. The proof is in how much those old trucks go for now.
They offer color matched fender flares as an option
@@carltongray3302 I know but it shouldn’t be an option on a $95,000 truck. Should be standard unless you get the work truck model.
People complaining about the price of a truck would be floored at the actual cost of my son's 1984 GMC. Come over and check it out. Started as a 5k fixer upper and went 16 times above that.
I prefer my 2021 HD console, right and left cup holders. Not a fan of that break control, I tow a lot but rarely grab the manual control. Something would get spilled in it
Break control? You can rest whenever you want. You don’t need a controller to tell you when. It’s just whenever you want…

The GMC HD front end is way better looking than the Chevy Silverado front end. The HD Silverado front end looks like something is missing under the headlights. Great looking GMC 3500 dually. Thank Andre nice walk around and review.
I disagree. Normally GMC is nicer but not this time. Really disappointed in this one. Wish they would get away from they horribly ugly played out Denali grilles.

"Most advanced and most luxurious in it's class." I love when marketing makes top claims for subjective criteria with no metric to actually substantiate it.
Most luxurious? Sorry but no, atleast offer a panoramic moonroof on your 1500 before making such a claim. GMC is not a premium brand. It's what Mercury was to Ford. I find Ram to be the most luxurious.

Great looking truck! exterior and interior.
Beautiful inside and out. Sad we didn’t see more torque.
Anything over 800 lb/ft is honestly more than plenty. All HD diesels have that these days
@@jakes5530 100% agreed with you. Offcourse it’s overkill. We made due just a few years ago with 700. But when it comes sales/numbers and bragging rights you don’t want to be in last place. after a refresh. I think this is where Ford and Dodge make a killing with fleet sales
@@9663mu that’s valid. Im just genuinely curious if one can really “feel” the difference between 800 and 1050 lb/ft of torque in a massive heavy truck. For instance, with sports cars after you get to a certain power level, the difference in speed sensation is pretty negligible. A 450 horsepower Porsche 911 and a 640hp 911 both feel extremely fast. Id imagine a 850 lb/ft of torque diesel and a 1050 lb/ft diesel both feel equally very strong. If seat of the pants feel is equal, Id be more concerned about longevity and reliability then having the highest numbers.
What are you to tow that you will be needing more than 1000 torque
@@Itsrang tean to be limited to 35000lbs
This is why we always need competition.
I've been itching to see footage from y'all on the release today! Absolutely Love it. I was glad to hear the HP/Tq numbers are up just slightly over the initial estimates from a few weeks ago. It sounds like with the new turbo, cylinder heads, and engine management that the power delivery will come on a little soon and last a little longer. Peak numbers aren't always as they seem. So, this all sounds great.
My only question is the whole "max trailering" option on the 2500. Are they doing away with the SRW 3500 and just offering a 2500hd and a 2500hd w/Max trailering? I've have had a lot of interest in building a "Towverlander" truck. So, the AT4x HD really fits the bill. We do tow a 5th wheel. So, I was planning to just bump up to a SRW 3500 from my current 2500hd Sierra, since 2500's can run out of payload pretty quick with a 5th wheel. I'm curious to know how that all will pan out and if they'll offer the "Max Trailering" option in the AT4x HD.
Dropping the 3500 SRW would be a huge mistake. I certainly hope they won't do something like that. There are many major fleet customers who use 3500 SRW trucks, surprisingly more than most know. The DRW has its place, but the 3500 SRW likely has higher sales volume numbers.
Do yourself a favor and just get an F-350. Dana M275 rear axle.
@@MasonCatalone last 3 Ford's I had spent more time in the dealership than my driveway. Sickening how much work they needed and once I switched to Chevy I've only changed the oil.
2500 vs 3500 can be a tax thing. Some states are hammered on 1 ton trucks, have different speed limits, etc.
@@leftyeh6495 That is true. Insurance can be an issue as well. I tried shopping around for cheaper insurance for my '04 F-350 and had several companies tell me outright "No." Most said it was a "commercial truck." I was shocked. State laws and insurance regulations sure over-reach often.
I thought I wanted the Denali ultimate before I need this , we just got an 06 envoy denali, and when you go denali you don't go back
Love the “Allison” branded trans comment. Able to put Allison’s name on the side, but not built by Allison. Not that it’s a bad trans or anything, but it’s annoying how they are getting around not be a real Allison. New Super Duty for me. I’ve had Rams the last 3 years and they’ve been great. I’m changing for no other reason than I buy whatever model catches my eye that year. However, I still will not buy another GM HD until they change that shitty front end. It is simply not a HD front end. Plus the Duramax has 40% more parts than a Cummins and 10% more than a Powerstroke. Although the L5P is better, they most certainly have the most troublesome emissions systems, they are just way to complicated of an engine and the way the systems work. The Denali is certainly a great looking truck, but GM let us down once again. At least they made the interiors a little better.
Great reviews, love the Sierras, thank you
So it doesn't have auxiliary switches, nor a swivel centre consul to place your notebook or a lie flat seat and this is the most luxuriios?
Not loving aux switch and trailer brake position. Maybe thats just habitual and not an ergonomic concern. Has payload changed in alignment with tow capacity?
Thanks for the vid!
Definitely impressive, I like the GMC look better than the Chevy look, but I don't like it for the following reasons...
1, the biggest reason, I think these manufacturers are getting out of touch with all this "tech" casting prices to hike so much. I make a pretty decent wage of about $80k a year but no way am I gonna want a $1,000+ monthly car payment. Why can't they just have simple options? I remember these used to be $40k about 15 years ago which I'd say was reasonable.
2 - I like the 3 seater flip up counter console option my 2008 LMM has. Best of both worlds. Center console for everyday, and an extra seat if I need it.
Ik, I'm only 37 but call me old fashioned,it's just too much.
Great job and I cannot wait until you put your hands on one of them
I think the AT4 might win the looks award for the GMC lineup. A couple of misses IMO, the center console feels much less functional than the Chevy, still no electronic rear locker (outside of potential AT4X/ZR2) and why limit the good stereo to the ultimate?
OH MY GOD. Denali ultimate on a 2500 that's really insane. GM trucks are not playing around. I can imagine how much that beast costs though, insanely loaded.
Definitely an improvement. GM knew their trucks were ugly. I only wish they would've put more hp and tq in the new L5P dirtymax. Did they paint the frame instead of using the crud that flakes off?
Also known as crayon and then the frame rust within a year
There's a limit to what they can do to a srw without managing torque. 1000 ft-lb is possible on a drw with limited torque management but srw may spin the tires when not in ideal conditions. GM also wants long term reliability. Such engine probably has seen many miles before this release.
@@jeffwill4923, I could spin all 4 rear tires on my ‘20 Ram/Cummins dually. Granted, 4.10s were a part of being able to do that.
It looks like one amazing truck. I can’t wait to see the video when you are driving it. If it has already been posted please send me the link.
I like the 3500hd. Only thing i have with it though is why put 18 or 19 inch wheels on it, why not 20 or 22?! IF we could get those here in New Zealand, we'd be looking at just over $200,000 nz (around $150,000 American),
Hello that's a nice truck but you should do a video on the diesel model during the winter months to see if it's starts in the cold
for the first time in 40 years i think i like the chevy better
Did anyone catch what the payload of the 2500 was? The GMC site shows towable weight but seems they are reluctant to share the payload which to me is the most important factor to know what I can pull with this new truck
I prefer the gmc front more
I like the FRONT END of this GMC much better than the newly introduced Ford 2023/2024 Superduties -- It looks more MUSCULAR and "Manly" in my opinion! That said, I can say that this segment is getting so competitive, it is more of a matter of Brand Loyalty rather than actual capabilities since anything PAST 27,000 lbs of towing requires a CDL anyways!
ANY modern Ford F350/F450, GMC HD3500, Chevy HD or RAM 3500 will DEFINITELY be able to pull a Keystone Montana Fifth Wheel in complete control and comfort so the ONLY differentiators is how good the air conditioning and heating is, how fast the on-board Wifi or Starlink internet connection is and whether the back seat passengers get DCI 8K resolution OLED displays, massaging seats and heated/cooled leather perforated seats and the requisite plenty of USB and wireless charger connections!
The ONLY THING MISSING from ANY of these trucks is the internal and externally accessible and phone-lockable COMBINED fridge and freezer compartment which lets me keep FIVE footlong Subway submarine sandwiches and a six-pack of Sprite separated from each other and KEPT COOL plus keep my one gallon bucket of cholocate ice cream fully frozen for the entire weekend!
AND of course, they need to ADD my DESIRED 100,000 lumens user-selectable bright white, pilot car orange and infrared nightvision colour LED swivelling and into-roof-retractable lightbar!
THEN we will have TRUE HD truck Nirvana !!!
V
Any idea what the payload of the 2500 Denali is as shown? I like the max tow option but if the payload doesn't go up accordingly, what's the point?
If you're buying a one ton truck for looks, then the RAM is the best looking. In the half ton segment, the RAM is the best looking. It used to be the Tundra but since that was redesigned in late 2021 the RAM has taken its crown.
Your opinion.
Ram won't come out with HD until 2025
No way Ram is boring now
Not even close. This truck looks way better.
Love the vader chrome
They should switch this truck to EV! THEN you could tow a whole 75 miles !!!
Absolutely beautiful... I am a Chevy man so I have to go with the High Country. I really wish... and it seems nitpicking... but... either standard [be nice] or as an option. The truck would come with a factory brush guard and front bumper.
I realize that a truck this EXPENSIVE and beautiful. Certainly is not going to see any off road time. If even a dirt road on rare occasion.
But you are traveling as per it's design. Towing a trailer or hauling a camper. Protection for the front is needed. I also hope they come standard with lockers front and rear... both 2wd (locking rear) and 4wd (both front and rear). As you stated you are in Colorado. It snows and having lockers are like a shirt with pockets ! Again, this truck is designed to be on the road traveling. Another thing would be to at least offer those items on the AT4. The other thing is "auto leveling " headlights.
For the amount of money you have to spend on these. These are simple features that should be available.
Thanks for a great show 👍

I think this looks better. Dont see a need to keep making headlights bigger when the technology within them gets smaller. Think this is the best looking truck right now. Ford especially looks pretty terrible with the huge headlights, quite disproportional appearing in my eye. Of course all will be functionally just fine, so wouldnt turn down any if i had a need for a heavy duty.
@@ALMX5DP yeah that makes sense. I don’t mean they need to “keep getting bigger” I just felt they were a good size in proportion to the grill. This grill is even bigger and the headlights smaller which kinda looks weird. I agree the new ford looks awful

My 2012 GMC 3500HD DW Denali 6.6 Duramax Diesel is still going strong, 171000 km, (106,000 miles) I deleted it after the warranty expired, getting 70 more hp with Motor Ops tune, getting 15.5 litres per hundred km (15mpg) used to get 21 litres per hundred km (11mpg) I do fluid film wool wax every two years on the entire underside. The only repairs have been to the drivetrain rotors and brakes. I would have to win the lottery to get buy a new 2024.
What GM needs to add on all these trucks is a full roll down rear window (so your passenger can get drinks out of the cooler ect.) And like Ford did with the camera on top of the tail gate as standard.
Getting cold road beers is critical 😎.
THANK GOD! A column shifter.
The super duty looks better inside and out
Best looking truck period.
Looks better than the Chevy and Ram but I think the Ford looks a little better.
The new ford is a downgrade from the current one. Way too soft looking. This new gen GM is by far the best looking and toughest looking truck.
@@pryme2013 toughest looking goes to the Ram with the forward tilt grill. A forward tilt always looks aggressive. Still that is not the full picture. The mirrors on the GMC look terrible but to each his own.
@@r.foster3275 ram isn’t even on my radar until it’s made in the United States.
I have owned both 2021 gmc 3500 and the 2022 gmc 3500 drw. something i like is the front grill shutter system forces air across the the hood cover and the facia plate over the rad to force full flow from the grill into the filter box. just thought i would add some cool things gmc does to increase performance / efficiency
So u getting this one too?
Great, any issues so far? I hope they are reliable and last you a decade with minimal issues and timely maintenance
Pretty standard
