How to install starter & idle gear cover on a 2007 zx10R!

  • This video i will be going through the process of removing and installing the starter cover and idle gear cover on a 2007 zx10R. this same process will work for models 2004-2007 zx10's.

    Man, all i was doing was a gasket replacement, i reassembled and my starter either isnt making good connection with that cog or some shit bc i never had a problem with the starter until now. Not sure where else to go other than to tear everything back off and make sure everything is making good contact. I can see from the starter cover that all the cogs are rotating and making contact, just not sure why im getting this god awful noise

      Sorry for the late reply, if u havnt gotten it figured out I would go back through it and maybe lube up the cog maybe that would help

    Those 2 caps in the middle that you unscrew with a flat head is there any purpose for those I low sided my bike and now have oil dripping from one of those tabs I was gonna just remove it and put JB weld over it not sure if that would be a smart thing to do

      I’m not sure the exact purpose for them but I honestly would just get two new plugs and replace them

    When you put on the gaskets did you use anything. Rtv gasketmaker or nothing?

      Nope I just used the gasket I bought and havnt had any leaks or anything.

    Literally what I'm doing now. Bought ebay. Now buying oem used. Had to order those dial plugs from kawasaki. 70 bucks for the 2 plugs

      sheesh!, yea i was searching for a used oem starter cover that had the idle gear cover and dial plugs that's all in good condition... hard to come across lol

      @@aracecar4627 typically will run into an issue with fitment, I was mainly referring to like Chinese aftermarket parts
