    Interesting! Unfortunately, my cutter does not have a knurled tube, so I never thought of this technique. Many years ago, I was taught to use a small piece of scrap glass to scrape along the edge of the newly cut piece to remove the unwanted "projections". It actually works pretty well. Not as smooth as a grinder, but not bad either.

      Yes I've seen the technique you describe with the piece of glass... yes it's good too.

    hadn't thought about that use for that cutter, but wouldn't it have been better to score on the smooth side? My favourite cutter is the Silberschnitt, German made and lovely to use.

      I score on the side with the offending sticky out bit. Hmm...I'll look up your cutter.
