Would not have guessed you were 6'4". And then to wear a 9.5-10, you're lucky. I'm 6'7"-6'8" and wore 16s which made finding footwear miserable. Now that I've developed tendonitis and arthritis and need orthopedic insoles I am wearing 17s and 18s. Trying to find repair tutorials and info on better fitting and lasting boots is part or what brought me here a couple of years back or so. Keep up the passion posts, and the editor asides are always fun.
This third model really nails it. It's more bespoke, I guess. Love the unstructured toes, marbling, the lighter and smoother tones, lighter edging, kiltie. Really quite an elegant package, and it was interesting to watch its evolution. Yes to a long term follow up. A contrast to the Indy, but the NDC looks heavy.
your channel(s) have really fueled my interest in boots.. these are gorgeous.. Ive gone from looking up Doc Martens vs Solovair..., to buying a pair of Nick's and Wesco... and really have 3 different White's models set in mind.. and another pair of Nick's haha,, damn.. You cost me alot of money with this channel...!! but I love learning about all these quality boots and the heritage and history behind them,, thanks Weston..
Great video. I've been wanting a pair of nicks for almost 10 years, but I want to go there to order them and it hasn't happened yet. FYI, cordovan has been used in archery for finger tabs (or gloves) for decades. It is used in the layer that touches the bow string because it is the only leather that doesn't crease. It is interesting to know that the leather has a grain direction and needs to be oriented correctly to slide of the string well. Unfortunately, cordovan has become so popular outside of archery in the last 5 years that it has driven the price almost out of reach for most people, if it can be found. I thought you might find it an interesting fact.
Big congrats on the new boots! I own two pairs of Nick's boots and I would have thought I am done buying boots for a long time but I am seriously lusting after your shell cordovan beauties! I am happy for you and I hope you do a follow-up or two on these boots as you break them in. Happy holidays and best wishes to you and your family!
Definitely do a follow up. Your excitement about these is fun to watch "omg these are so pretty!" lol. Also, what brand are the white double knee pants? I'm not tall, but I'm mostly leg and every double knee pant I've found the seam for the knee lands right where my knee hits the ground so they're all pretty uncomfortable to actually work in. Those looked like they might have longer sections. Thanks!
Congratulations on the boots! Definitely beautiful but definitely out of my price range too I'm afraid! I own 3 Nick's, maybe if I don't buy boots for 3-5 years I could do it but I am not sure I could resist that long. 😅 May you wear them well Preston! I don't want to see these cut in half, but I would like to see them taken to the point they need multiple resoles, and eventually a rebuild would be awesome! 😎 It'll be fun to compare those with your Alden's. I still think you should allow your Alden's to go to the Cobbler and fix their issues. At some point you may want to strip the coating of plastic Alden puts on their shell. Shellvedge on UA-cam has a good tutorial on how to do it on his channel he posted recently. He also brings up a number of likes and dislikes from his Alden's as well you might be interested in. Definitely curious if you'll be going for Saphir or Pure Polish when the time comes? Shell worn as a work boot I would imagine would be drastically different on care, as opposed to Shell worn as casual or business dress. Maybe use the Alden's to test which regime lasts better? One Boot Pure Polish Products, One Boot Saphir and compare and contrast. As for video length? I prefer your longer videos but that is my take. I enjoy learning things I don't already know. Like I would have liked a bit in-depth more on the tannery. How did you commission this from Nick's? Did you buy the leather? Stuff like that. But I do agree I would only buy Shell if and when I ever do in my best fitting boot. Nick's Wickett & Craig Oiled Latigo Leather has been my #1 so far. But great to see all your content, you and many other UA-camrs have been a great source for me. Keep up the awesome work and loving the new channel!
I definitely want to see a follow up video so we can all see how the look of this work boot breaks in with the high end leather. The Alden follow up was really informative. Even though these boots are made of the best leather available I think you should wear the hell out of these boots for a month so we can see how they change. Hopefully for the better. I love your channels.
Love my ND1s. Pretty much my daily boot when I’m not at work. Nicks station boot at work, have a pair of Chelseas coming in for work too. 8 pairs deep into nicks
I like that they don’t have the pull loop on them. The Jean cuff always gets hung up on them. This boot will allow the cuff to slide smoothly over the top. P.S. I love your Pendleton jacket!
That is so awesome! Bought my first pair of Nicks after watching your first video cutting them in half, now I own a few pairs and one currently being built with their double stuffed leather. As much as I like Nicks' boots I'd love a pair of White's Stevens in shell! For those of us who don't work in harsh conditions those boots are beyond awesome!
Congratulations on the new boots! They look incredible! I ordered my first pair of Nick's Boots yesterday and can't thank you enough for all the advice on what makes a good boot. I was so tired of burning through boots every few months, and while my docs are outperforming my cheap amazon boots, I'm super excited for my urban logger walnut roughout boots. Now to just watch more videos while I wait lol
Once your docs are worn out, look into solovair, it's the company that made Docs up until the 90s and still make the same boots to this day. They are also resoleable.
1. I don't think I'd like that type of marbled shell on a pair of dress shoes or dressier boots, but it sure as hell works on this boot. I've got two pairs of marbled shell allen edmonds, and they are far more subtle. 2. don't cut them in half 3. Flip the vibergs. Put it out there on social media, the viberg secondary market especially for shell is more robust than alden (almost). Someone out there will want them and you'll get a goodly portion of your money back. 4. don't cut them in half 5. I wish Nick's made a shearling lined boot, if they did they'd make the perfect winter beater. It's just too cold here not to have something with proper insulation. 6. don't cut the boots in half. ;)
Some people would say - too much money for boots - but how much money we all spend on lots of stuff we don't need or even use do in reality it's a good investment just imagine how many years those boots are going to last
White Kloud's taller boots start at $2,900, and going for Shell cordovan would incur a significant up-charge from that. And Porosus crocodile leather is about $500 sq. foot. So I'm afraid it's not the most expensive workwear boot nor the most expensive leather in the world... Still an awesome pair though for sure! The reason there's no pull tab is that one avoid that on cordovan due to the low tensile strength of the material.
Viberg Solution: Starting with family, then friends, then co-workers, then whomever ping those with shoe sizes similar to yours, but maybe wider. The first to get a good fit gets to keep them.
I bet you have significantly increased nicks sales numbers. I know I got their Moc toe boots specifically because of this channel. Only gotta wait 30 weeks
Great video, I want a pair! I’ll never buy Alden I’d rather just save up and get these. The real long videos are good when you explain the thinking and design and history of the boots. Keep up the good work.
If you're ever in Spokane again and are up for a meet and greet with fans, I'm sure there are lots of us in the area! I'm an hour away but I would totally say hi and buy signed Rose Anvil merch or something!
I've been wanting to buy a pair of Nick's boots ever since I've seen your videos, but I've been hesitant to commit that much money without being able to get fitted at their store. I don't see myself in Tacoma anytime soon, unfortunately.
Yes PLEASE do a follow up of these boots. Also those Shell Cordovan engineers, I wants them!!!! Can’t remember the size but if they’re around a 9.5-10 I’m interested in taking them off your hands. :)
Breaking in some rough out Nick's Falcons right now. Heat soaked them with two coats of bees wax and am rocking them through a PNW winter in Central Washington. Looking forward to watching your new boot journey along with mine.
I watched Nick's building the boot video first. Now I know who they sent it to. You sound a little flustered in this video, and it is easy to tell that you are excited about the boot. Congratulations.
Respect from Milan Italy. Just to give you a little background about Toscana (Tuscany), this region for us is synonymous for beauty and handcraft in architecture, art, fashion and leather creations (Gucci started here). That's why Nicks leather is so expensive. Best form the other side of the ocean. Now hunting for NIcks Boots over here.
Hi, do you know if it's Tuscana, IT's "Cognac or Whiskey Marbled Shell Cordovan" colored hides? It's hard to tell from the video but it's super cool. I have a bet w/my wife it's Cognac & she thinks it's whiskey...but I have black & brown marbled for making bracelets so I know it's not either of those. Thanks a lot & sorry if you've already answered this. I heard you & totally understand the hassle of NOT asking them to make me a pair of boots! Best, wT
Would like to see the lineman's patch on the other side of the boots too. From a function standpoint, that section of boots takes a beating too. I actually think for the everyday working guy not climbing poles with spikes, the other side gets MORE wear than the side in this boot and others....
Awesome boots! I wonder how much business you have driven to Nick's. I was aware of them for many years from Wranglerstar but never bought a pair until your cut apart video.
Weston, maybe this is an idea for the RA2 channel, but would love to see a discussion and your take on the 3 Nicks lasts. I noticed you always get the HNW last. Are there other reasons you don't like the 55 or 67 other than making you taller?
They are, but the popularity they have received has resulted in way too long lead times. Over half a year. Placed my order on the 19th of June and still not in production.
Nice gift - Christmas gift? Congratulations and wear it in good health. Looking forward to seeing how it looks like after breaking in in coming months.
Y'know, it's really something for a company to just send you a $2500 Christmas present. That's a heck of a statement there. I might just buy a pair of boots from them now, that's something you don't see from many companies these days. Gotta keep those boys in business
you mentioned the leather toe roll aka "puckering"....Does anyone other use shoe shapers? its probably not custom in the blue color world but they will keep them boots in shape when drying out and stored. I have a variety for dress casual dress. Finally order my first from Nicks. Been rolling in the same danners and Chippewa for almost 20 yrs lol.

Looking forward to the progress vid. Would love to see how they age.
I feel on this channel videos can be long as they need to. Seems like this no pressure style functions really naturally. I enjoy this a lot.
your channel(s) have really fueled my interest in boots.. these are gorgeous.. for double knee carhartts are the best

Love my ND1s. Pretty much my daily boot when I’m not at work. Nicks station boot at work, have a pair of Chelseas coming in for work too. 8 pairs deep into nicks
Cant wait for the followup! Lets see these BEAUTs in a month or two
I like that they don’t have the pull loop on them. The Jean cuff always gets hung up on them. This boot will allow the cuff to slide smoothly over the top. P.S. I love your Pendleton jacket!
Definitely let’s have a follow up
Well, I just went and bought my first pair of Nick’s and it’s 100% because of your channel. Keep up the good work!
They look beautiful, bud. Keep up doing everything you do, we appreciate it!
Wow! Beautiful leather! Congrats on the great gift. Nicks is a class act.
I imagine they went for the thicker rubber insole so that a resole will simply be a glue on/off so they don’t have to restitch the leather.
If I could afford ND1s, they would have been on my feet right now. They are so good, so good. Well done Roseanvil crew, Merry Christmas.
Congratulations on the new boots! They look incredible! I ordered my first pair of Nick's Boots yesterday and can't thank you enough for all the advice on what makes a good boot. Hopefully someday, I'll have the money for the ND1 boots! I absolutely love them! Always appreciate your hard work! Merry Christmas!
Jus watched the build, and thought the owner of these boots are gonna be stoked... Glad they are for you! BIG UPs!
Beautiful boots!
Can you or someone tell me what does HNW last stand for? Highway North West?
Very nice! Nick's Boots uploaded a video of them being made.
This leather is definitely nice looking.
I don't generally like the look of shell cordovan because it's so shiny and kind of plasticky looking.
Can we get an update on how these are breaking in??? I saw them in the wesco video and they look good!
White Kloud's taller boots start at $2,900, and going for Shell cordovan would incur a significant up-charge from that.

Exactly, even wesco makes shell cordovans.
Awesome pair of Nick’s!
Definitely do a follow up, please!
For the viberg boots, you could unstich the upper ankle area.
Cut away some leather, and restitch them.
We DEFINITELY need a follow up!!
I love the natural pattern on them. And these long videos are awesome 👌
Viberg Solution: Starting with family, then friends, then co-workers, then whomever ping those with shoe sizes similar to yours, but maybe wider. The first to get a good fit gets to keep them.
We would like weekly updates on this particular pair. Thank you. :D
Oh my....these are . . . breathtaking. I actually exhaled a loud "whoaaaaa" when you took them out of the box. Wow.
Definitely a follow up video is in order on these beautiful works of art!
I truly say. I’m jealous of a pair of boots. So beautiful and well constructed.
YESSSS!!! We want a follow-up video
Caught a pair of the boots 😎
Do a follow up video for the cordovan Nicks!
You can cut the unboxing and try on IMO
Nicks are top of the food chain and their customer service is awesome.
Definitely do a follow up where you cut them in half and then stick them back together with horse glue.
I love the mottling on that shell cordovan.
Congratulations on the boots yes to an update on these
If I'm not mistaken Nick's did a video on building this particular pair of boots
Those look so dope. Beautiful. Enjoy those. We are all envious and happy for you.
What a treat! Looking forward to an update video on how they wear in!!
I bet you have significantly increased nicks sales numbers. I know I got their Moc toe boots specifically because of this channel. Only gotta wait 30 weeks
bro, if you cut up that cordovan boot we're sending someone to your house... you've been warned. ok now we watch the video.🍿🍿
Another patina thunderdome challenger has arrive 🙌
PS Weston’s bootgasm at 18:36 😂
Great video, I want a pair! I’ll never buy Alden I’d rather just save up and get these. The real long videos are good when you explain the thinking and design and history of the boots. Keep up the good work.

Breaking in some rough out Nick's Falcons right now. Heat soaked them with two coats of bees wax and am rocking them through a PNW winter in Central Washington. Looking forward to watching your new boot journey along with mine.
i enjoy these more spontaneous unboxings as a first look at the boot
Definitely need to do a follow up
I am eager to see a follow up of this boot.
I watched Nick's building the boot video first. Now I know who they sent it to. You sound a little flustered in this video, and it is easy to tell that you are excited about the boot. Congratulations.

As long as you communicate in some way your excited that’s good enough for us big guy
might be my favorite boot of all time, absolute beauty!!!!
cool new boots, Weston! Great content as ever. Good on you.
Those are beautiful! I love the natural pattern on that leather.
Yes do a month follow up!!!
I don't see gashes in the inside lining. Alden should take notes
Weston, maybe this is an idea for the RA2 channel, but would love to see a discussion and your take on the 3 Nicks lasts. I noticed you always get the HNW last. Are there other reasons you don't like the 55 or 67 other than making you taller?
Can’t wait to get me a pair of Nicks! They look great!
Nick's really seems like an awesome company. Congrats on the new pair. Enjoy them and maybe do a follow up video on here after 6 months.
They are, but the popularity they have received has resulted in way too long lead times. Over half a year. Placed my order on the 19th of June and still not in production.
Your channel convinced me to buy builder pros. My most expensive boot before this has been my iron rangers. I'm excited for them!
I believe the reason DSLRs don’t shoot longer video is because camera manufacturers want to bypass the 5.6% duty applied to video cameras on import.
that's really beautiful, has to be very cool to own something so unique
Nice gift - Christmas gift? Congratulations and wear it in good health.
Looking forward to seeing how it looks like after breaking in in coming months.
The only thing I don't like is the lineman patch. The soft toe is a great choice. I'll be interested to see how they patina.
Great looking boots! Congratulations!
I would love to see follow up video about them
I put an thin insole inside my engineer boots to take up the loose space. Now they don’t fall off and they are more comfortable.
Not jealous at all....congrats man, very well deserved. That marbling is ridiculous.
Gotta say brother!! One of the coolest boots I’ve ever seen!!! Kudos to you!!! And yes gotta see a follow up!! Sorry to hear about the Vibergs
Y'know, it's really something for a company to just send you a $2500 Christmas present. That's a heck of a statement there. I might just buy a pair of boots from them now, that's something you don't see from many companies these days. Gotta keep those boys in business
Got my nd2. Glad I went a size down.
Those are spectacular we definitely several long term wear videos
I would buy the nd1 rn but i don't got the money for em i really love how the color way came out 😩
you mentioned the leather toe roll aka "puckering"....Does anyone other use shoe shapers? its probably not custom in the blue color world but they will keep them boots in shape when drying out and stored. I have a variety for dress casual dress. Finally order my first from Nicks. Been rolling in the same danners and Chippewa for almost 20 yrs lol.
Those boots are beautiful. I don't know why but I was blown away to hear you are 6'4". I know that is a weird take away, but that did surprise me.
Same and 9.5 shoes size
Never would’ve guessed
I will unsubscribe if you even think about cutting them in half! Beautiful ❤ well done Nicks👍
These look incredible. I need a pair of nick’s asap.
Such a beautiful boot. In the uk it’s so hard to find such a good boot.
Those are quite possibly the nicest boots in existence. Definitely do a follow up. Also, cut the Vibergs in half. Do it.
I don't have any social media to follow for giveaways, but that's ok. We lowly UA-cam subs still love ya:)
I would love to see a follow up video
Anyone know the brand/style of the jacket at 15:19?
