Unleash the Archers has a drummer that does what Nicko does but with two pedals, i.e. his rapid fire technique does two hits per foot not one. I'd recommend looking them up
But what's the problem ? I play this with 2 fingers too with no problem. With 3 it's harder for me :/. P.S I play with pick in my band, because I have to mute the strings too often and can't make it with fingers :/.
Meyepadwe I sometimes struggle if I'm playing Rime of the Ancient Mariner or something that spans for more than 6 minutes. (Albeit, I am not the greatest player ever) I'd rather not upload a video since I can't be arsed, but I can do it. It depends what kind of person you are really. :)
You'll take my life but I'll take yours too You'll fire your musket but I'll run you through So when you're waiting for the next attack You'd better stand there's no turning back The bugle sounds as the charge begins But on this battlefield no one wins The smell of acrid smoke and horses breath As you plunge into a certain death Oh oh oh Oh oh oh The horse he sweats with fear we break to run The mighty roar of the Russian guns And as we race towards human wall The screams of pain as my comrades fall We hurdle bodies that lay on the ground And as the Russians fire another round We get so near yet so far away We won't live to fight another day Oh oh oh Oh oh oh We get so close near enough to fight When a Russian gets me in his sights He pulls the trigger and I feel the blow A burst of rounds takes my horse below And as I lay there gazing at the sky My body's numb and my throat is dry And as I lay forgotten and alone Without a tear I draw my parting groan Oh oh oh Oh oh
@justasimplenoob Because it is an analog track recording of Microphone positioned against Steeve's amplifer in the studio together with all mics on the drum set, so there IS a backup noise. Search for "trooper guitar only", where you can hear Adrian "singing" in the backgound to keep with the beat.
I love how people think that playing with only two 2 fingers is impossible only because Steve do it. So silly xD but playing with 2 fingers is easy as fuck.
With 3 fingers easy piece but Steve uses only three and btw, with 3 its sounds horrible.... Try to find that galloping sound with 2 fingers, I can. Trick is that "nameless" (4th finger from your thump) follows, with out using it, like 0.1 sec later so theres the clanging sound goes to.
Steven; excuse me, invented not invited. You can't name 5 bass players that can finger pick like Steve Harris because there aren't any. The closest would be Frank Bello from Anthrax.
I know he is the songwriter, and a great one at that, but that doesn't mean his ability to play bass is any better. I understand that more notes doesn't mean better, but most of his bass lines are something I would give to a first year bassist to help them better understand rhythms, not as something to improve their overall playing ability.
Everyone talking about Steve using 2 fingers, but when does Nicko get his appreciation for that kick drum? He uses only 1 foot
Unleash the Archers has a drummer that does what Nicko does but with two pedals, i.e. his rapid fire technique does two hits per foot not one. I'd recommend looking them up
Yeahhhhhh
I never freaking knew that, jesus this band is over the top in every freaking way
for everyone that is fighting, i have met steve and he said he only uses 2 fingers.
I know, people can be a pain in the ass sometimes :D.

what did he use 2 fingers for when you met?
Harry's bass playing in this is not as precise as we thought it should be. But that's one of the great things about maiden. It's kinda RAW.
steve's bass line isn't exactly a straight forward gallup, it's actually hard to pull off the exact rhythm he's doing with two fingers here.
Try impossible! I think you need three, unless you're a god!
Meyepadwe I can do it with two and I've only been playing for a few months. :P
Gamesplayswill Post a video I want to see
Gamesplayswill Do it, you wont!

The bugle sounds as the charge begins
But on this battlefield no one wins
The smell of acrid smoke and horses breath
As you plunge into a certain death
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
The horse he sweats with fear we break to run
The mighty roar of the Russian guns
And as we race towards human wall
The screams of pain as my comrades fall
We hurdle bodies that lay on the ground
And as the Russians fire another round
We get so near yet so far away
We won't live to fight another day
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
We get so close near enough to fight
When a Russian gets me in his sights
He pulls the trigger and I feel the blow
A burst of rounds takes my horse below
And as I lay there gazing at the sky
My body's numb and my throat is dry
And as I lay forgotten and alone
Without a tear I draw my parting groan
Oh oh oh
Oh oh
OOOOOH, I thought this was some sort of remix, not JUST Playing the Drums and the Bass guitar of the song.
Still badass, Up the Mother fuckin IRONS!
@justasimplenoob

Anyone who wants to talk shit on Steve Harris knows NOTHING about music...PERIOD
I do play with fingers, it is just insanely easy because I actually know how to use more than 2 fingers to play.
Mutcho Easy
His last name isn't Harry. its HARRIS.
@aeromodelar ahh its still great though =D
i can hear the guitar a little bit in this
Rainibg
You can't play bass, can you? Try to gallop like Steve with two fingers on bass. If you do, your fingers will fall off after 2 minutes.
Pretty one-dimensional
I do. It took me years, but it's just a matter of patience, perseverance and technique.
I love how people think that playing with only two 2 fingers is impossible only because Steve do it. So silly xD but playing with 2 fingers is easy as fuck.
Nikki Sixx is right every song sounds like the theme from the Ponderosa
like the triplet gallup sounds cool
@victorbicudo1 yeah, rhythm is raw, playing technique is raw! Love such view on bass!
lol not quite what expected when it said drum and bass
I do play bass and I am able to use more than 2 fingers to play bass, doing something the hard way doesn't mean you are good at it.
Sydnee Australia is talkin' shit yo, the galloping takes 3 fingers not 2.
He plays with two 'normally' but the gallop technique takes 3.
Whatever .. I just don't care.
2 fingers
i can feel the magic!!!can you.....?

Guitar Hero version
2:10
sloppy.
still leagues better than cut & paste metal of today.

Monica Roberts Cliff Burton?? David Ellfson?
Yes you can, period.
Brilliant!
I was thumbs up number 666
Steeve is God AMEN

I fail to see why people think Steve Harris is a bass god when he only plays watered down versions of some riffs and gallops the rest of the song.
Cliff Burton didn't think so, and many other rock bassists that are influenced by Harris.
got to play what fits the song i think, to much ends up ruining the riff, butt this is only a opinion
