who needs guitars??? this is great as this!!!
That sound comes from great Subtractive EQ ladies n gents. All the muddy or wooly frequencies around 250k and 400k are stripped out. The groove is dead on too!
hz not k
@@yobichristo317 I mean, we can't hear those pesky 250kHz and 400kHz either, right? :D
Nice....got to 2:49 and all came alive. Thanks for this, good stuff. Smart bass playing from Ellefson, love the tone. Spot on!
Ellefson
David Ellefson. The guy who made me wanna start and quit bass :D
I actually prefer this stripped down version. Especially after 2:49.
this sounds badass
He recorded this on a Jackson 4-String tuned lower... Jackson 5-strings didn''t exist at the time
True. He got a 5-string when they started playing this song live.
He recorded it with a 4 string, because he said it himself.
Ιτδ τπυε 4δτπιηξ συπιηξ πεςοπσιηξ
True fact. He states in many interviews that it was recorded it on a 4 string and later had Jackson make the 5 string.
This is in drop d I believe while the guitars are in A440
Drum and bass tracks ftw.
2:49 A shadow approaches, *its crazy Steve*
Dat groove by Menza!
Sounds relaxing and wicked all the same!!! ;)
When your bass player plays tighter rythm than you
Anemonicus They always should in my opinion tbh
That's a surprising thing to you? You must be a guitar player.
That was his job.
Блин, просто офигенно техничная партия для игры медиатором!
I think I've found my new favorite video on UA-cam!!
Damn this is great to play guitar to!
im sure everybody here listened the original song after this.
Un gran bajista! David ellefson \m/
No one in the world can play this song like this two masters !!
Uses a lot of the mid range. Kind of has a fresh string sound to it as well. Drop D for this song, as well. He also plays a Jackson most of the time.
Thanks so much!
awseome
I just realized the tempo speeds up in the last minute wtfffffff
You just realized this? 30 years later??
Esta si es rola y no bergas, saludos desde Culiacan, Sinaloa, México. 😈
Am I the only one hearing the guitar in my head?

Which bass tone does Ellefson uses?
Contrary to popular belief, Ellefson>>>>>Burton
Patrick Fie Nope
TheMaverick13 Uh yes pal
nope
ok, how about this:art = art
TheMaverick13By a country mile. Ellefson has a bigger catalogue of fucking insanely great basslines.
Metallica needs to hire him. Rob just doesn’t have it
man that would shake things up I am all for it
Metallica's problem isn't their bass player, it's the bass parts they put in their songs
The quality kinda sucks on the drum track
Make it louder
