I can say the same, seen many cricut crafters but keep going back to Jennifer. In all I have come across, I rate you number 1. I have acquired a passion for my Cricut machine is all because of her. Thank you Jennifer for the confidence you gave me in using the machine.
Thank you so much for this. Even though I recently purchased an easy press 3, I still like to use my iron. You gave me some tips I never knew about. Your tutorials are awesome. Thanks again!❤

this is the best tutorial for anything I have ever seen, so easy to follow!
Glad to hear that!
Thank you for the great video. I have had a cricut I bought secondhand off a friend and it's taken me months to actually use it because I've been intimidated. I'll be using the HTV to imprint my rebinds of books I've been working on. Super excited now that I understand the settings and have this to refer back to if something goes wrong.
Yay! Glad you are using your Cricut!
Thanks for a well designed and described how-to video!
I'm happy to help!🥰
Brilliant! Thanks for posting this, I've been struggling and now I know what I'm doing wrong!
Happy to help!
This video was so helpful! Thank you so much! I am so excited for what is to come.
you are so welcome🥰
Thank you so much, love watching your videos. I’m pretty new to Cricut and have learned so much from your videos and website. This particular video is perfect timing as just designing a sweatshirt for my Grandson for World Math Day. Really didn’t want to invest in a heat press as can’t really afford one atm - maybe something to add to my Christmas list lol Thanks again 🙏 ❤
You are so welcome!
Ok. I like this channel. I love your look, how easy this is to follow, your teaching voice, EVERYTHING! Goodness! So glad I FINALLY found you!
I'm so happy to hear that!! Glad to have you!🥰

I did my first project to this video!! Thank you so much Jen (If I may)! I messed up the press in the 1st one because I was distracted & put 25 MINS (within a min it was ruined completely) but I learned for the others. Thank yyou!
Oh wow! Glad you got it. ❤️
Thanks for sharing 💐

Thank you do much! Very helpful video!!!
You're welcome! ❤️
This was so helpful- im about to go make 7 shirts so wish me luck!
Good luck!! You got this!
I love Your tutorials, especially the way You explain every single detail! I’m so thankful for that! Could You please tell me if there are some tips for lasting the iron-on longer? What about if I want to iron the htv, can I do it the normal way or do I need to be careful?
Iron=on should last as long as a store bought iron-on shirt.
Hi Jennifer I love your video I listen to them all the time. I was wounding how can you print a pic and put it on vinly and put on t-shirt
you can use printable iron on so you print directly to the vinyl🥰
Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊🥰
Thank you lovely 😍
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks so much!
You are very welcome!💗
i know im super late to this but thank you so much!!!! i needed to know if using an iron was okay because every other tutorial used the circut heat press😅😅
Glad I could help!
Purrrr-fect timing!! We made my daughter the shirt with the cat eyes and whiskers today and used our iron to press it! I will post a pic on FB. Thanks so much, Jennifer!!!
That is awesome! I'd love to see the photo of your shirt!
Hi Jennifer, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask for help with this but I want to make a Christmas scene stencil with htv to use on a canvas board. I am planning a paint and sip activity with some friends and since we won't have an instructor, I thought putting a stencil on canvas and then painting it would be fun. But I'm not sure where to find a stencil that doesn't need to be weeded. Am I asking the impossible? any info would be so helpful.
Thanks for the awesome tutorial! How would you change the timing for a canvas tote bag? Any tips for getting the back side (like would you just flip the tote over and press the other side of the bag, or would you actually put the iron inside the bag?) Thanks!
If you put a design on both sides you would flip it over. Make sure to put the pressing mat on the inside.
Your amazing. Thank you!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You are so welcome!
I only have a small travel iron with only heat setting 1 2 3. Do you think it could work? I want to acquire a cricut but I am truing to figure out additional costs in advance ( for press etc.)
You can always test it out! 😊🌻
Thank you
You're welcome!
Thank you for the video. What are the steps for ironing on cardstock please? I don't have a heat press, only a home iron. Thank you
You can use an iron for iron-on. You can also use permanent vinyl on card stock as well.
To anyone who wnats to know yes these will stick to foam board. No tranfer paper, no design, just parchment paper, and a little iron until it stuck
Hi Jennifer! Thank you for sharing! Just a quick question, what is the best way to store your finished cut out design?.. if you’re not going to iron on right away.
You can put butcher paper over it and store it in a cool dry place that is not too humid.
How do I join the design without the heart? I have windows Microsoft Edge
Thank you! Very very new to all this. Do you have a video using Iron on vinyl on thicker fabrics? I have a saddle pad i want to put my name on and it's too thick to flip and apply heat to the back. Should i just increase the ironing time on the front? Thanks again!!!
You can ignore the reverse side and follow the instructions for the fabric heat and press time.
Good evening, Jennifer. ❤Thank you for the nice video. I have a question, please, about the iron settings in relation to the temperature. Do we choose to choose cotton or linen when pressing on the thermal vinyl? Thank you, my dear.
The hottest setting you have, with no steam. 😊🌻
Mini Thanks darling
Hi, Jennifer! I appreciate you doing this video! I don't have an EasyPress, and since they're pretty expensive, that's going to have to wait a while. I do, however, have an iron. :-) I also have a question for you. I have several wool pressing mats that I use for quilting. Can I use this instead of a towel or wooden chopping block? They are nice and firm and absorb moisture well, but not quite "chopping block firm".
Yes, those should be okay to use. 😊🌻
Thank you as always Jennifer. I hope you’ll see my question here. Would you recommend permanent vinyl or HTV for leatherette basic notebooks? Or maybe Infusible Ink. Thanks
Iron-on works great on faux leather. Make sure to cover the entire surface with butcher paper. Permanent vinyl will also work.
Thank you 😊
I used a HTV that turned out to be pretty thick and stiff. From your experience which brand has the most flexible and thin type of HTV without compromising the quality/durability of the design? Thank you!
Cricut iron-on works well, also Siser.
Hi Jennifer can I use the foil HTV on Satin? I want to put my granddaughters name on her bunnies dress for Easter. Wither words my 1st Easter. I do intend too use parchment paper. What temp should I use & how many seconds each side😊 thank you for your amazing tutorials🥰
Thank you. Here is the heat guide for you. cricut.com/en-us/heatguide
Hi Jennifer! Thank you for sharing these tips and techniques with us. I have a question...I have a big project coming up, making vinyl transfers for about 25 members of our group. Can I pre-cut all the artwork one weekend, and then then apply them all on another? If so, how do I "store" the vinyl art before actually applying them?
yes you can for sure do it that way!!🥰
@@JenniferMaker Anything "special" I have to do to store the HTV artwork before I get to the day to apply them to the shirts?
thank you for being an amazing teacher ♥
Hi, Thank you for all your help with these videos. I am working on a everyday iron on vinyl - all one color - just on the pocket of a men's rotten t shirt. I have done everything as you instructed - but it is not sticking to the shirt. I have done it several times and am wondering if I just have wrecked it and need to start over or is it salvageable? Thank you.
Are you certain that you are using Iron-on vinyl and not permanent vinyl? If you are pressing at the right time/temp/pressure Iron-on vinyl should adhere to your shirt.🥰
I am using everyday iron on and it says strong bond@@JenniferMaker
Hi Jennifer! Just wondering if you have tried using your iron for sportflex htv? If so, what iron setting would you recommend? Thank You :)
I suggest going by Cricut's temperature guide 🥰
Hi, Denise! I went and checked Cricut's directions -- here you go:
If using a household iron, use the Wool setting. Make sure the steam setting is OFF. Preheat the application area of your base material for 5-10 seconds. Place the weeded image, liner side up, onto the preheated material. Apply medium pressure with the iron for 30 seconds. Flip the material over and apply medium pressure with the iron to the back of the material for an additional 15 seconds. Use a cool peel to remove the liner. A press cloth is not required but may be desired to protect your base material from imprint by the iron.
Thanks for that, I had been wondering if I could do it with an iron. And as I don't have parchment paper is it the same as baking paper?
Yes, parchment paper is essentially the same as baking paper. Go for it!
@@JenniferMaker thanks
Hi can you tell me what carrier sheet you are using …I have cricut transfer x
It's the carrier sheet that the iron-on comes on.🥰
This may be a dumb question but should I take the water out of my iron before heating?
As long as you don't press the steam button you should be fine. 😊🌻
When you use parchment paper is it shiny side on design ?
You can use either side. I would recommend to use butcher paper. The carrier sheet is a barrier for iron-on vinyl and can be used without it. jennifermaker.com/make-t-shirt-cricut/
On the video at the “JOY’ portion, you said click on both layers…what does that mean?
At 11:18 if you want it to be in one color you can select both layers in the layers panel in Design Space to change it to one color. There are more details on the blog post here. jennifermaker.com/how-to-iron-on-cricut-vinyl/
Is the iron on vinyl soft and supple on the fabric or does it feel stiff and plasticy?
That really depends on the brand of vinyl you use. I don't think Cricut vinyl feels to stiff or thick🥰
Can use this step on cricut joy
Yes!
I have imported a picture, it comes up as a print and cut. I just want to cut it out. How can I change it please can you help?
Are you wanting to put it on a shirt using printable vinyl? jennifermaker.com/print-cut-cricut-transfer-tshirts/ You can ask in the group if you like. facebook.com/groups/cricutcraftersandmakers/
How do you get the shirt to come up on the design canvas like that?? Or is that not Cricut Design Space?
Here is some help for you. jennifermaker.com/the-joy-of-svgs-training-series
Can you layer HTV with a regular iron?
Sure! Just follow the same steps🥰
I seen your post on your Facebook page about the give away of a maker 3. I have a curious question though. Is the give away for people you specifically invited to the group and are new new or for everyone in your group in general? I joined about a month ago, Jan 22. I’d love to be in the drawing ❤
You can enter. Good luck! jennifermaker.com/cricutgiveaway/
I want my t shirt design on front and back. How do I iron the design on the back of the t-shirt?
You just follow the same process as you would on the front.
I don't know what I did wrong, but it was a catastrophic failure. The Cricut cut through both the design and the guide. I was using Siser brand HTV And used the Everyday vinyl setting.
Oh goodness! Definitely too much pressure then! I would suggest doing some small sample cuts until you are able to find the right setting/pressure.
Hi ! Question… I make totes from quilting cotton. (Not canvas) I would love to put some names on these totes. I use cotton from Moda, Riley Blake etc… good quality cotton but not thick like tshirt cotton. I would like to add the vinyl name to a piece of solid color quilting cotton and then machine stitch it to the other pieces of the tote. Not stitching on the vinyl of course, just stitching around it. Do you think this is possible ! Would this work the same as putting it on any other cotton? What are your thoughts on this? Thank you, Mechelle
Go for it!
Thank you 😊
I haven’t opened the iron on yet x
do it!🥰
Why only 50 washes ? Would it last longer with heat press ?
It is possible.
What font did you use?
Amastery Script ❤️
you're awesome
Aww, thank you.
Can you use an iron for puff iron-on vinyl ?
Yes, but it is better to be able to set the heat and timer and press the entire surface in one press for best results.
@@JenniferMaker thank you for the reply! Tried some test pieces with a regular iron today and had mixed results due to temperature and pressure. Ordered an Easy Press on Amazon just now though. Good things to come🤩
How can I put a design on the front and back of the shirt?
You can put a pressing pad on the inside of the shirt.
Thank you!
What if I don't have parchment paper
You can use copy paper. 😊🌻
I am literally a newbie cricuteer (yes I know it’s not a name lol) either way I just got myself a cricut joy and I made my husband a shirt for work with permanent vinyl but unfortunately my friends said that won’t last you have to use the iron on material. I was so heartbroken I tried hard
You need to use iron-on vinyl/HTV for shirts. Here is a Guide to vinyl. jennifermaker.com/ultimate-guide-to-vinyl/
@@JenniferMaker thank you! I learned my lesson the hard way
Is it possible to press the vinyl for too many seconds?
Yes, it is.
Cotton setting just burned my white t-shirt. Lol.
Most cotton tshirt are not 100 %cotton use a lower setting
