  • Feburary 2024's Crewe Heritage breakfast classic car meet saw a record turnout of classic British cars, sports cars and us in the 1947 Dodge WC pickup, after a bit of an eventful journey in the thick fog...
In this video expect a comorehensive tutorial on how to fire up a flathead straight-six engine, watching the classic cars rolling into the show and of course the full walkaround of all the automotive delights on display!
My favourites from this video included a suitably oily-rag Ford Zephyr Six, Ford Escort Mk1, Austin A35 and plenty more, with cars dating from the 1950s to the modern day all featuring.
Please let me know what your favourite car was!
If you liked this video please check out the channel homepage for car shows of all shapes and sizes, and remember to subscribe for future classic car related videos.
    Thanks for watching!

Super interesting video Harley, love to see the Dodge come out again. You have such a good knowledge of classic cars. I owned a Saab 99 many years ago and ran up a huge mileage doing all repairs and maintenance myself, then swapped it for a Saab 900 and did an even bigger mileage! Both were extremely reliable. Looking forward to your next video.......👍

Hello Harley. Memories coming back for me with your video. The Ford Zephyrs were popular here in New Zealand. The police used them in the 1950s. Back in the early 1960s a family next-door in the neighborhood had one. A dark green one with white wall tyres, and the father of the family wore his hair slicked back in a Ducks Arse style with a quiff in front. And his wife had a beehive hairdo. This in the Rock 'n' Roll Era. Those frog eyed cars look like they had forgotten to put headlights on the front and added them at the last minute. Morris / Austin 1100s were everywhere in the 1960s, selling so well here in NZ . Well thank you Harley.

Great video Harley - impressive direct to camera intro and confident content narrative. Good camera work by your ‘venerable assistant.’

The XK-engined Daimler 420 was my favourite as it would suit my delusions of grandeur, plus I am an XK devotee! But as ever I loved your relaxed and informative presentation - and hope you had a less eventful journey home in the Dodge! I Look forward to the next weekly sop to my classic addiction from you.

WOW CT that Start up was perfect when you tap the wiper arm back on to the splines a small drop of super glue works a treat if the splines are dry first ,loved the ride in the Dodge thank you for the outing

another super video Harley, speaking of mums mx5 , you should do a video on it as it does not seem to get much screen time.

I did do a little review video about it years ago, but yes it probably needs an update

I love it when you guys take the Dodge out - but this must have been a scary ride - traveling at breakneck speed and having to feel your way along in that fog. The 1100 was just beautiful. I had a beat up 1100 as a 2nd car and it must have been a very early one. It's instrument panel was the same as the A40 Farina. That may have been a quirk of a New Zealand assembled car of course - I don't know. Being a person of luxurious tastes I can't afford - the Daimler takes out Car of the Day for me. When I first saw it front on (and couldn't see it was a limo), my initial thought was a Wolesley 6/110 Mk 2.

Yes it was an interesting trip - even if not quick breakneck speeds!

@@CarTractionvids haha, anything over 10mph in fog is breakneck speed to me!!

Great video and good commentary, on the start up I always push the clutch pedal down was told it it took the load of the engine maybe wrong, cheers

I suppose it disconnects the gearbox so less to turnover? Not sure on that one...

      @richardsealey3626 4 місяці тому +1

You are correct, but not many people do it, it takes the load off the gearbox. Might be useful if the battery is not in it's first flush of youth........@@CarTractionvids

@@richardsealey3626 I have heard of that before, it might help some 6 volt engines along

Hi Harley - that MK1 Zephyr Six is actually the Zodiac variant. We had one in 1960, same colour as that one - Green and Cream - 455 AML. A few extras on the Zodiac - cigarette lighter on top of the dash, 2 tone paint option and probably some more that I can't think of. It was a lovely comfy old car - Dad would paint the white wall tyres with emulsion paint, if we were going somewhere special - really looked smart. I don't see a C/T sticker on the MX5 ??? A great line up of cars there - the SAAB 99 wins it for me though - had 7 SAABs throughout my years ! Thanks and take care 🙂
