I loved how you were able to drastically reduce the amount of attempts by going to the whiteboard and studying the replays, the maps, etc. One of the wrinkliest brains out there for sure.
Holy crap. You lost less than 10k resources worth of units and the enemies lost 293k resources worth. You killed 30x the unit value your opponents killed. Amazing game, love these challenges.
Congratulations!! For a future challenge, i believe the 2P/2Z/2T & 1 Random you mentioned to be the most "balanced" (compared to all-random where you hope for good matchups)
Yes this 100% that has to be the hardest 1v7 and the only one left save for 4:3/3:4 ratio of just two races but then that’s just annoying how many combinations there are.
What this series has taught me: 1. Liberators are op 2. The AI is dumb with Liberator zones 3. Mech is literally the best strategy ever Time to go pro!
Hey thermal I never comment on videos, but your series are incredibly awesome to watch. The consistent commentary and video length are a perfect combination. I barely have any knowledge of the game and can still find a lot of enjoyment in the content. Keep it up.
I believe they made it free to play, at least the first campaign and multiplayer. If you have the time, I highly recommend trying this game. Even the storyline is great.
AI x6: Sends army enough to completely blot out the mini-map vision below the ramp, including carriers, colossi, immortals and hundreds of gateway units uThermal: Raises eyebrows 2 millimeters for 2 seconds
Ai Cheater Insane has a few things going for it: 1: it can see the entire map, it knows where every building is, where every unit is, and what your unit comp is. It's able to blind-counter you 2: Ai gathers +2 resources. So 7 resources instead of 5. This affects mules as well 3: Ai gets free money in the late game. 4: The ai is able to switch comps. The Cheater ai is more reactive to what you do, and will switch on a dime if it so chooses too. 5: It's MAX APM is increased to 1200-1400. Protoss for some reason likes microing probes into warp-prisms. 7: Ai is better at targeting and microing. It's able to spit against anti-armor missiles with precise accuracy
We are experiencing history here guys. SC2 is out for so many years and this dude comes along and almost casually walks over challenges that have been thought as impossible for centuries. Have you ever seen Serral beat 7 Zerg, Terran and then Protoss at the same time? No! uThermal > Serral is hereby proven
GM1: Roach timing GM2: Proxy 4 rax GM3: Proxy Void ray GM4: Super economic greed GM5: Clem 3 rax BO GM6: Bane bust (intended to hit with Roach timing) GM7: Dark Templar
You are insane!!!!! Followed all ai challenges and was wandering how would you do it against Protoss. Still imagining this would be nearly impossible. If there is a talent you are it mate. Well done.
Thank you for putting this one up instead of your 13th attempt. I've seen some other people do challenges that win through bugging out and honestly, it seems to be much less satisfying. This 19th attempt you did is truly through skill and is great to watch.
Wow, that was awesome! I never would have thought it possible to beat 7 allied insane bots. When SC2 was new I used to love playing crazy base defense style games vs the AI, but I mever managed to actually win against an insane bot 1v1. Granted, my RTS skills never exceeded bronze league, but still, there is no way I would have believed this if I hadn't seen it! Well done!
What an amazing fight man! Looking forward to the mixed all insane ai challange. After that i guess you just have to do the challenge with zerg and protoss :P
Glad you didn't upload the buggy one and decided finish it again! When I saw heromarine's 1v7 all random, a lot of the AI's bugged out which I thought low-key ruined the challenge.
I'll watch this later, but holy hell dude, this was fast! I would REALLY love to see what Zerg can do to siege up properly, so Zerg vs 7 AI, but I'm not sure that's possible.
great job as always man, with 7T insane AIs beaten now you are just showing off :P love your diversified contents and really keeping the non-melee games side alive, now even more so.
The most impressive thing for me is the fact you uploaded this video only 6 days after publishing the video vs 7 AI Terrans. That means it took you only 5 days to do beat this challenge. You are a literal RTS god Marc! 😮❤
" I feel like attempt 13 was very buggy and I wanted to show that I could actually do it without the help of bugs" Shots fired! Hero marine he's looking at you..m
Great job doing these! I look forward to seeing you do more with those other proposed faction make-ups. I'd love to see some randoms, but that's up to you.
Yes I think the final boss would be 2p, 2t, 2z + 1 of whatever race you want as your neighbour. This one was great though, I didn't think you would do it so fast! I did think it would involve BCs though xD
Really love this strategy!!! That must have been a difficult decision to drop siege tanks from your build, but after watching those immortals not give a crap about the liberators and wander through the liberation zones it's easy to see why now. Cattlebruisers are also a great pick. with +2 armor against your opponent, you effectively reduce damage output from carriers and phenoxies to minimum damage output, (1/10 their base DSP) . having a raven was an amazing idea as well, assuming upgrades are equal. its a 37.5% increase in damage output against ground targets, and a 60% increase against air units. Viodrays are almost 1 shot by the Yamato gun, (they survive with 10 hp), and all ground based anti-air can be taken care of by the liberators. That being said I think you got lucky in that none of the AIs built any tempest. Not sure if they are allergic to them or what, but this strategy would be shut down pretty quickly with mass tempest. If they sent them with a massive army, that could provide vision up close, then they could deal significant damage from afar. That being said, Congratulations on your sucess with these challenges!!
Awesome job! Nice work. I’ve never played sc2 yet but used to play against 7 AI all the time as protoss in broodwar. I would eventually wall off with nexuses (imagine with shield batteries + overcharge here?). I’d have canons defend with skytoss and a gazillion dark archons. I’d mind control all the enemies as my conscripted army. Could easily go beyond the 200 unit cap this way lol What about walling off with planetary fortresses? Like 5-10 of them across the ramp? Probably not as efficient doing it your way but would be fun as hell.
For everyone that thinks nukes in this situation would be a good idea: Cheater AI knows where the nuking ghost is and where the nuke is targeted. If you try it even against 2 or 3 cheater AIs you'll see your ghost die almost immediately. Detection is almost never an issue for the AI and neither is damage output. Nuking, despite how cool it would be to see, is not going to happen.
Imagine being on the ground of that war and seeing a whole fleet of battlecruisers darkening the sun and carpet bombing a planet with laser rounds the size of a small building...
2144 : 94 kills vs losses which is about 23 : 1 kill / loss ratio 293495 : 9770 lost resources, which is about 30 : 1 ratio For anyone that wants the numbers. uThermal says he wants 10:1 on bit BC's.. so 3 times that is pretty damn good.
I remember as a kid I used to love doing command and conquer red alert. 1 vs 7 ai with just the armies no bases and watch as the ai would send all 7 armies against my one. And would be pure chaos. Not much strategy just focus fire. Would win a few times depending on map and position many times just impossible for me. Red alert two 7 vs 1 was also a lot of fun.
What an achievement ! I usually never comment before seeing the vid, but i really thought this one in particular was impossible, you did it though, now "just" 7 random ai and you will be the GOAT forever
These challenges are cool, for these, you could move your face cam over to the left just a little, and fit it in the face window directly to left of where your face is now. (the tall rectangular box that has the face of the races in it). Especially, since that cam feed is not live with audio. I think that would look really cool and be a nice touch to the video. Does SC2 have "Fastest" maps, like the old brood war ones? That might be a fun challenge as well, if so.
Cracking the protoss AI challenge is a sick achievement man. By the way - thors are God awful at carrier killing, as we all know, and on top of that they aren't capable of harassing the enemies. By all reasonable estimations, they are not a good unit here.
Thors are insanely good at carrier killing. If it wasn't for the disruptor, they would hardcounter mass carrier. If you are thinking of Javelin Launchers, not being aware that you can switch the thor mode, that would explain it.
I used to do these playing on slow speed and resuming from replay when I die. I liked to use barracks for walls, as they are cheap for the HP and can be flown away to repair, while immediately landing fresh ones. After a couple hundred restart from replays, I eventually would get 30:1 or better resources lost.
So here are the stats again: the total efficiency was 293,405 : 9,770 Resources lost which is a Ratio of staggering 30.03 : 1!!! good job solving this puzzle so fast :)

Holy hell that was quick! I was just watching PiGs breakdown of your 1V7 Terran. You’re an absolute legend

I just finished watching Pigs reaction to the 1v7 terran. And already uthermal goes and complete 1v7 protoss
You can launch mules in that valley that your BCs were fighting in. Just tested it cause I saw a colossus walk there.
Ai Cheater Insane has a few things going for it:
1: it can see the entire map, it knows where every building is, where every unit is, and what your unit comp is. It's able to blind-counter you
