As a fellow psychotherapist, I completely agree. The constant fear of being silenced, losing our licenses, etc, is used as a fear mongering tactic. We can longer openly explore what the child or adolescent is experiencing due to the "you must affirm" dogma. Biological science, reality, facts are being distorted. All our trainings, meetings revolve around this specific agenda with minimal research. Truly frightened for the safety, health, and well-being of this generation. How long can we remain silenced into submission? Thank you for openly vocalizing this issue. Note: Every single article, "research" pages etc on Google state that this is "life saving." Medicalizing children - dangerous. Our brains do not even fully develop until approximately 25 years of age, how is a child allowed to make a life-altering decision then? Use the CASS Report. The research used was extensive and quality tested. The conclusions are clear - there is no clear improvement to ‘gender dysphoric’ children, suicide risk is no higher when compared to children with similar trauma. Sweden, Finland and Norway have all completed their own studies and reached the same conclusions. Arm yourself and be ready to defend yourself and your vulnerable clients.
@HellCat and yet our loopy lefty govt is still forging ahead with banning gender-based 'conversion therapy' in England and Wales. And the NHS is still mandating that psychologists working with children 'practice in a gender affirming manner in line with wpath soc 8' Honestly? I think the only way this is going to change is for clients, clinicians and trainees to start taking these therapists/therapy governing bodies/training institutions etc to court (like James Esses did)
it’s admirable how she sticks to her values and morals but it’s sad that that means that you risk losing your livelihood to be an actual therapist that helps people
As someone on hrt I find this topic relevant to me. I've had a therapist for the last year who is very much the affirming type. It feels like it's impossible to get actual help and instead I've been put on to the converbelt. Thank you for all your educational content. Even though we do not agree on everything I get alot out of your perspective and it's refreshing to not be instantly affirmed by people who are meant to help.
@@sometherapist This is where we differ a bit. I've always been the guy other men want to be and women want to date. By all accounts I should be happy with my body but I havent been since age 5. Hrt has made me alot happier in my skin and I think that is worthwhile. What would be helpful is alternatives which I don't believe exist at this time.
See, that's the part that drives me nuts. People like you being told there aren't alternatives, when there absolutely are - it's just that information and access to alternatives is being suppressed! Are you familiar with how so-called Conversion Therapy bans create an environment that intimidates therapists out of providing good therapy that addresses the body dysmorphia, OCD, and trauma that are often at the root of issues like yours?

@sometherapist I think I've expressed my desire to have real help and I've outlined the fact that affirming therapy isn't great. I mean more like alternatives for feminine straight guys to exist in the world without feeling the need to transition. Growing up I felt like I had to fake being super masculine. I hate that the second I tell left leaning people i struggle with gender that they instantly jump to oh youre trans.
@sometherapist at 30 minutes is what Gustave Le Bon has described in The Crowd. Check out a podcast with Mattias Desmet on this. Even though Desmet has some flaws in his interpretation (my opinion) he has seen that part of Le Bon correctly. The self convinced elite that are true believers are the most stubborn one to defeat. You just cannot since they have collected a library of proof that met their wishes and you are automatically the amateur that doesn’t understand them. What those true believers don’t understand is that they are captured like the entire classroom of kids in the movie The Wave. The fact that they score high with their iq doesn’t set them free from crowd formation processes.
Tamara and Stephanie, I’ve found a lot of women (online) involved with these issues from the UK. I’m wondering if you can share the names of other women and groups in the USA. I am in Oregon. Have always considered myself liberal until these issues.
im a trans woman that was on puberty blockers and estrogen since 15 and im 25 and happy,is this a problem now or..?i rlly dont get it anymore not dsying that i agree with all those genders but saying that yall want other trans ppl to go through puberty is rlly bad...
i had 3 vonservative psychologists, and 3 psychiatrists that told me the other options and i knew i had to transition because those didnt feel like me,is it wrong now or yall have to police ppl for being happy?

I’m in Portland. And, I too, always considered myself very progressive/liberal until this issue.
Kids have been told they know themselves better than anyone so they couldn’t possibly be wrong.
