Finally!! Someone posting builds for companions!! So rare on internet these days!! I needed to say that before watching the whole video (though the introduction with those 100+ dmg made me salivate, yum!)
Omg you're a godsent, I'm starting my play through with your Paladin rogue build and was searching for a good Amiri build all over the internet but didn't find any good builds they always use Alchemist class Please please please do builds for the rest of the companions you're the best at doing builds, Thank you Mr. Liquid
Wanted to search for a build for amiri and I am so happy to find your video is the one I randomly chose. Your tank healer build video is awesome and you explain this so clearly. Definitely worth a sub!!
Thanks for putting these builds out, as someone who knows nothing about pathfinder ruleset. It's nice being able to follow a build guide for companion chars and just play. Looking forward to your other vids
Thanks Richard. I have another video I'm releasing soon, and monday I am planning on starting a new Live Lets Play through Kingmaker. Heres my twitch www.twitch.tv/thearcaneagent
You might want to consider Combat Reflexes as otherwise you only get one attach of opportunity per round. With a reach weapon the opponents will be be generating AoE's just off of their movement and thus leaving you none when your pet trips. Would work fine without it, but may get more freebies if you take it.
I like your roleplay and representative choices. My main is a Mad Dog, and yes the Animal Companion (especially those with many attacks at the start) make the game easier, which is fine as it is hard! Anyhow, the only thing I do differently in general is I place at least *1* tiny point in all class skills as you get +4 to +8 often in those Skills and that helps the party rolls overall. That only spends between 3 to 5 skill points.
I did a respec on Amiri myself but went Invuln rager 12 2h fighter 8. Made the character a lot more fun for me since in the game adamantine armor stacks with barb dr (doesn't happen in pnp) and she uses a certain bastard sword found ~ act 4 in the game. She is just destroying everything she comes across in the game.
Im absolutly fascinated of our builds, ure explanation is awesome, go ahead. I know it is half a year gone, but would u show us a build for Octavia? Thx a Million!
Impressive, especially as you are just using a basic Masterwork weapon! :O In Pathfinder 1, Critical Hits are insane. I "saw" (tabletop) a Paladin, who had focused everything on Keen Feats with a "high threat" weapon, kill a Green Dragon in one single blow... Sort of stopped the entire expected battle for the GM. Poor dragon had successfully surprised us and all.
+combat reflexes for more AoO would fit the build. Make sure to (potion/spell) Enlarge Amiri to get a) even greater reach and b) do more base damage dice on the weapon (then get Lead Blades somehow for even more fun).
Arcane, I am playing through the game again after a long layoff. When I went through the game the first time I don't remember that many options with higher levels of Fauchard weapons. Did they add better Fauchards? Thanks.
Just make sure you get tower shield specialist to 9 before late game, for the touch armor class. Splash options are monk1-2 (for the defensive feats), stalwart 1, thug, inquisitor3 for solo tactics, maybe bard and dragon disciple.
@@ArcaneAgent I must have messed up the save because that isn't working, I'll just have to start a new game in order to fix it Edit: I got it to work by loading a different save
Nice video. I made my Amiri an Invulnerable Rager for the bonus DR + Rage powers which allows her to take beast totem's pounce ability and basically do a full attack after charge, resulting in wiping out almost all enemies (thanks to reach + legendary proportions buff)
Hey. Ive been looking for a high str 2h paladin build that can also take somewhat of a beating. Got any good builds for that? I am considering going 1 into sorc and 4 into Dragon Disciple for the +2 natural armor and +4 str. Would it be worth it or is dipping 5 levels into other stuff better?
It is good build for a barbarian, but frankly i've been using Amiri as full 2H Fighter and damage is insane and consistent. She has high armor and does 50-60dmg per hit(x3 crit) and doesnt require rage to do dmg. Fighters have enough feats also that you can get stuff like Critical mastery and blind every opponenet you crit on top of exhaust them. Pet is probably the only advantage this build has.
@@ArcaneAgent yea thats true. Its just that ever since i found out Barbs Rage charges count down per round i kinda lost interest in the class. If she can only keep up with the damage DURING rage, i do not understand whats the point. Which is a shame because Barbs have always been my favorite d&d class.
@@ArcaneAgent it'll come into next playthrough prob. For the moment i'm having too much fun with classic 1Vivi/9Sorc/10AT build, but i have octavia build in similar way so i dont think its necessery to have 2 of em. Game is suprisingly good though, i'm enjoying it (especially the writing) a lot more than i did Pillars of Eternity. Good job for a kickstarter
Nice build....original. I wonder what your take would be on linzi. I really like to keep her bard... But thinking about stormcaller..... Plz do linzi next
Amazing. Hey, Liquid, could you make a Jaethal build too? I'm thinking of doing a LE playthrough with a variant of your Scaled Fist Monk and I want Jae in my party, but I just can't stand the micromanaging of the Inquisitor. Any ideas of respeccing her while keeping the lore intact? Like undead and death magic.
Herald caller, crusader, blight druid are the other classes that can take death domain (without a secondary). You can also keep her inquisitor, but choose huntsmaster or monster tactician. Monster tactician, herald caller, blight would be the choices if you want her to be a caster. You can do a huntsmaster caster, but you'd need other party members to optimize the pet: melee for teamwork feats, ranger/druid for pet buff, alchemist for shield infusion. And those would probably just be pure classes (I guess after 17 levels of monster tactician you can choose something else). If you want her to be a melee fighter, you can do huntsmaster and ranger, keeping huntsmaster levels at 3-5: something like huntsmaster 3-5, ranger 15-16, monk 0-2. I'm not sure if that is actually less micro though. If you want to really minimize micro but keep death domain, do inquisitor plus a fighter subclass or huntsmaster plus mad dog--those would be okay.
hi liquid love your videos but there's one thing I cannot understand, I see it in your other videos too, you like taking cleave, greater cleave, cleaving finish feats, they sure are great in earlier levels but complete waste of feats later on, when your BAB gets high and allows multiple attacks, ESPECIALLY with full BAB classes and 2h weapons (most accuracy), cleave is a standard action and it won't allow you to do full round attack if you use cleave, so would you please explain why do you like to invest so heavily into these feats?
@@ArcaneAgent oh yes I am well aware of what it does, tho I am not sure it is worth investing so much for a situational play like that, also taking just cleave and cleaving finish would work better in my opinion, you'd still get your extra one attack but won't have to spend 2 more feats for great cleave and improved cleaving finish, situation where you kill multiple enemies in one round and they are all adjacent to you are very rare, except when you are fighting a lot of smaller CR enemies like kobolds or mites in which case it won't matter much anyway, also a minor thing I noticed you take improved DR, which doesn't stack with stoneskin, I think from mid to high levels you will be under the effect of stoneskin at all times so the improved dr won't make a difference at all
@@ArcaneAgent I know, but even with enlarge person and increased reach killing multiple enemies in one turn with one character is pretty situational in my opinion, also for the reach weapon you have to invest in exotic weapon proficiency which is one more feat, tho I have to admit having a reach weapon with enlarge person or even with legendary proportions is quite cool
Hey man I would love to see your take on a Primary cleric mixed with a barbarian. I played a half orc cleric barb in a real Pathfinder game and I LOVED the idea of a cleric that could run in and dps and heal it was alot of fun!!
@@ArcaneAgent Its mainly the rage powers that made it fun and the story ( which obviously doesnt matter in kingmaker) But it was fun for me just an idea I would love to see because I love playing the healer but still being useful in battle.
@@ArcaneAgent yup many of the companions are not perfect. But, I think it force us to try different build and find the best one. Btw, thank you for your builds, I also admire and try some of your builds too.

@@ArcaneAgent Cool Haven't got the game yet(waiting for a sale). Gonna try the thug walker altered slightly to wield a reach crit weapon of 15-20 if its possible.
I just discovered your channel yesterday, and wanted to let you know that your videos are absolutely top notch in both content and presentation. Loving it, my man! :)
@@ArcaneAgent I think I may had made a mistake. Disregard that comment. I think it was MY barb that I followed this build for. I could've sworn I did it for Amiri, but now I'm not so sure. I don't have any mods, so I must be remembering wrong.
When you respect companions, I heard you gotta look out for Advisory stats. Do you have any list which stats in what companions I should keep the same. For instance Valeria 15 charisma.
Dunno if you still want those but here you go: Regent - Charisma Councilor - Wisdom General - Strength Treasurer - Intelligence High Priest - Wisdom Grand Diplomat - Charisma Warden - Constitution Magister - Intelligence Curator - Charisma Espionage Minister - Dexterity
Hi, I'm actually playing strictly following your builds for Amiri, Valerie, Linzi and Jubilost. Same for Octavia except that I choose different opposite schools (necromancy and enchantment) and some spells (I like sense vitals). Team is level 10/11. I've finished season of bloom, cleaned up the Dire Narlmarshes and first two level of beneath the stolen lands without any really difficulty. From all I saw from the web you're doing the best builds. And to replace things, I spend 1649 hours playing that game. And last for you a question : is it possible to respec Ekundayo without bugging is wolf compagnon ? If yes will you do it one day ? In fact are you planning to propose builds for all of the other characters. I'm curious to see it for Ekundayo and also for the wildcards.
Love the build, using it in my main run atm. Would love to see you do more companion builds. SPOILER:------Thought about respecing Kalikke / Kanerah to be Healer/dps build. what you think? saves you from having to waste a slot on a healer and extra damage when u need it as well. maybe a cool build combo can be made here?
also, it might be fun to have a build for a whole group, like synergies or something. I really like my amiri as a freebooter's combat bonuses stacking with Lizi's chant and spells from other members of the group ... group stacking bonuses so each member makes the group more powerful or something. Also, you should try a grenadier build one of these days, with your fondness for rogue, they have similar abilities so it might makes for a fun build to create for you :)
Funny you are doing this spec, I am speccing my Amiri this go-round as your reach rogue. I'm not using a respec, just started rogue at level 2, though she is simply backup character so probably won't see any action.
Dog and wolf get a continuous automatic trip every time they attack. So they are great controllers. Yes smilidon gets a lot of attacks per round, we know hehe
I really dislike how hard the game practically pushes you into weapon focus builds as early as level 1. kinda defeats the purpose of finding different kinds of weapons when literally in character creation you come with a pre determined weapon of choice. even worse compounded when these games have set items in the game is the weapons with better drops are the better weapon. not because it's a better weapon type, but because the game has better weapons of that type and at better timings. like how early you can get a top tier dueling sword for a dex build, while I personally like dueling sword so it's fine for a character who is going to be doing that sort of build, an orc warrior who wants to use battleaxes or greatswords is fucked out of luck.
@@ArcaneAgent this is why my baldurs gate 2 time was mostly spent on party creation rolling for stats. Get into the game and within a couple hours you're 'reminded' of something you forgot.
Personally I wanted a reason for Harim to tag along with me. Currently I never use him. I actually dislike his pessimistic personality so much that I have never taken him out. I now how a barony, he is my high priest and I have actually forgotten his name, I use him so little! Please help me make him a good party member and advisor. And if there's something really cool he can do as a cleric, by all means!
Ye I don't know. Is ok but I never liked cleave, is situational but togglable. Sure can be ok while fighting many mobs but having to sacrifice full attacks and not working with haste is annoying. Essentially we build around dealing with many mobs which I may as well have a caster aoe them instead of focusing on her single target damage. Never liked cleave, too restrictive. Success on hit for secondary attack else no secondary, adjacent targets else doesn't work, power attack requirement which is only mathematically semi useful on 2 handed heroes and enemy ac is sky high in the game. The charging barbarian seems way more fun and tuned.
Just 2 levels in Mad Dog is enough to have your dog companion just one level below you all the way and 18 levels in 2h fighters would give you more damage.

How are you editing her attribute points? my respec doesn't let me do so.
Put them on full. Or original and 25 for companions
I like that build. How about a Jaethal build next?
Its something I need to work on
@@ArcaneAgent And Lindzi Too?
Yup
Just a question...Does a sneak attack that criticals do more damage than just one or the other?
Yes
@@ArcaneAgent Cool Haven't got the game yet(waiting for a sale). Gonna try the thug walker altered slightly to wield a reach crit weapon of 15-20 if its possible.
Ooh ouch that would rock
@@ArcaneAgent Enjoying your lets play. Thanks for showing the game as well as you do.
New lets play episode tomorrow
Can you redo builds that we can follow on ps4, because we don't have a mod to change the level one skills, so that kills everything we're looking for
You can respecc on ps4. I guess I should make a video about that...
@@ArcaneAgent you can't respec companions' level one attributes
Well that's true... I cant help ya there. Shes better as a mad dog period. And Valerie is just dumb, tower shield specialist is garbage
@@ArcaneAgent which means console players are stuck with inferior skills and garbage classes until we make enough money to make our own companions
Or until you get a pc...
Anything with a bard in it?
Making a Linzi build soon
I just discovered your channel yesterday, and wanted to let you know that your videos are absolutely top notch in both content and presentation. Loving it, my man! :)
Thanks, new video tomorrow!
This worked for me last month, but I tried this again yesterday, and it's not allowing me to change her Barbarian subclass.
Are you using the respecc mod?
@@ArcaneAgent I think I may had made a mistake. Disregard that comment. I think it was MY barb that I followed this build for. I could've sworn I did it for Amiri, but now I'm not so sure.
I don't have any mods, so I must be remembering wrong.
It's ok I still love you
I hope someon reads this! I can't change Amiris giant weapon. What to do?
Put a different weapon in a different weapon slot
@@ArcaneAgent ahhh i can change weapon only when in combat... bug maybe. And big thanks.
Hey no problem!
When you respect companions, I heard you gotta look out for Advisory stats. Do you have any list which stats in what companions I should keep the same. For instance Valeria 15 charisma.
Dunno if you still want those but here you go:
Regent - Charisma
Councilor - Wisdom
General - Strength
Treasurer - Intelligence
High Priest - Wisdom
Grand Diplomat - Charisma
Warden - Constitution
Magister - Intelligence
Curator - Charisma
Espionage Minister - Dexterity
Wicked
Dude ekun is already amazing! But maybe I will one day
wait, he did a linzi build? why have i not found this?
I haven't that I remember
@@ArcaneAgent But indeed you did it but only on twitch and removed it a couple of days later.
I yes
Love the build, using it in my main run atm. Would love to see you do more companion builds. SPOILER:------Thought about respecing Kalikke / Kanerah to be Healer/dps build. what you think? saves you from having to waste a slot on a healer and extra damage when u need it as well. maybe a cool build combo can be made here?
Ideally id make the water chick like my kineticist thug, working on the fire chick for something
@@ArcaneAgent cool look forward to seeing it.
also, it might be fun to have a build for a whole group, like synergies or something.
Oh I have a grenadier build that I'm working on
do you let your builds fight against the same lvl opponents? sometimes it seems like they are to weak
I go between level 10s and 17s
Please show a Harrim Build
Harrim is soon
Great, can't wait for the other companions. Please next do valerie and harrim
Valerie, linzi, harrim, Octavia are all next
@@ArcaneAgent coolio
Funny you are doing this spec, I am speccing my Amiri this go-round as your reach rogue. I'm not using a respec, just started rogue at level 2, though she is simply backup character so probably won't see any action.
Amiri is always my reach
Wasn’t it in Neverwinter Knights where such low int actually makes your dialogue options change?
Yes
@@ArcaneAgent some fallout game too (go to klamath, ... Kla ... math xD) ... makes me want to kill some bugmen again now xD
Fallout and fallout 2 are bae
the hell is Neverwinter Knights
You never played Neverwinter Night
Well, now I have to actually download those respec mods. :) Awesome build!
so mad dog dont have rage ?
All barbarians have rage
A harim build please that actually makes him good to use
I'll try my best. Torn between completely respeccing him, or trying to take him from level 1 forward as a better character
@@ArcaneAgent the fact is he's not werry good as a basic cleric though I am trying him as a plague bearer druid with 1 lvl in cleric
also I just realised that Me, Jaethal, Tristain and Jubilost are the only non tanks in my playthrough
I have 2 tanks
Oof
Ive heard smilodon and leopard are the best pets, why is dog better?
Dog and wolf get a continuous automatic trip every time they attack. So they are great controllers.
Yes smilidon gets a lot of attacks per round, we know hehe
Any good fauchards in the game beyond the masterwork one?
Yep
@AJ Tupman Awesome, thank you.
I completely agree. But this problem is in all rpgs. In Baldurs Gate 2 I specced short swords only to find all of the amazing swords were longswords
@@ArcaneAgent this is why my baldurs gate 2 time was mostly spent on party creation rolling for stats. Get into the game and within a couple hours you're 'reminded' of something you forgot.
Or spending katanas and finding out that only daggers and shorts words and longswords are worth it
Do one for Harrim
This is litteritly what I'm building but as a fighter
Fighters are too fun
Let's see if you splice rogue while wearing rouge...
Disgusting
I'm not sure I can hang with the constant whimpering lol; I may need to respec again and choose a bear or something. :)
Yeah try wolf
here iam looking in the internet for builds to make my compainons good and here he is basicly using a mod to cheat them into usefullness. thx
Yay for mods!
He is my mainline!
@@ArcaneAgent
Oh cool. Is there a leveling breakdown you do somewhere that I can easily reference?
That poor dog needs a flea bath D:
Yea its why I chose wolf over dog
Hi, can u make "succubus/incubus" build? Female tieling with high charisma specialing in charming enemies and seducing em into killing each other?
2 handed paladin build
What about a dual wield paladin build?
@@ArcaneAgent yeah that would be awesome
@@ArcaneAgent but have more than just 2 Pally levels 😀
Dual wield rogue paladin
@@ArcaneAgent STR based would be cool 😜
That build is the worst...
thing that happened to Amiri's enemies.
Just 2 levels in Mad Dog is enough to have your dog companion just one level below you all the way and 18 levels in 2h fighters would give you more damage.
She makes me so mad that Titan mauler isn't am Archtype 😢
They need to add a whole lot more
Didn't know Fuchard is 18-20...
Well it is
Pets are so OP in this game its ridiculously poor game balance.
The pets are a bit insane. But I try to only use one pet per playthrough. You should check me out on twitch. www.twitch.tv/thearcaneagent
But Amiri loves that Ginormous Greatsword.
Tru
Ok ok the build is great but amiri has 10 times more charisma than valerie
True, Valerie is not fun
Well, Amiri that is different to the in-game Amiri is not her. It just the same to make an entirely new character with the name of Amiri
