    Bob Sullivan (the old Indian) and I flew helicopters together in the Army 1971 to 1974. We spent a year together overseas when we were much younger and his hair was black and a LOT shorter. He had a guitar, did martial arts and chanted back then also.

    Absolutely my favorite scene ever! I'm Cherokee on my mothers side and Lakota on my fathers... not full blood but enough to feel the Wakan... the greatest line ever is when he says "I wouldn't mind" in response to Chayton asking if he wanted to die... That is the truest Native American response in history! Whoever wrote that knew something of the circle and the center.

    "I ain't your son, old man."
    "But if your were I'd beat the asshole outta ya years ago!😂
    I love this scene so much! The young male character, just coming in there trying to interrupt the elders at a card game, thinking he bad only to get beat up by a true chief whose not taking any of his disrespect, but putting him in his place.
    For some reason I like Chayton better here, he's not as corrupt as he was in the regular seasons, because he could have killed the elder if he wanted to, but didn't. So you can see that something changed him, and if not I would have loved to see how he changed or what happened.
    But he was brutal
    I like how you see so much action in Banshee and many different characters with different cultural backgrounds, especially the Native Americans. I like how they use their knives, and weapons especially Chayton with the bow arrow.

    • @ProfessorxVile
      @ProfessorxVile 2 місяці тому

      What changed in him is that BSD showed up on the rez and started a conflict with his group that eventually resulted in his brother's death. It all started because Hood (who, let's remember, is actually a criminal impersonating a cop and not legitimate law enforcement) wanted to blame him for the crimes committed by the psycho Amish teacher.

    Intense scene. Native Americans receive very little representation in film and television and are seldom even portrayed by ACTUAL Native Americans. Banshee did a good job with the Kinaho even though such tribe does not exist to my knowledge. My only issue is that in its modern depiction of Natives, the settings were mostly exclusive to the reservation and casino; both of which are often used for stereotypical purposes. Other than that, I really liked how they depicted their inner struggles and outer relations...

      Yes. While other cultures were living in caves we were kings and queen until we were enslaved and brought to a foreign land, stripped of our religion and culture. Forced to build a nation that we could never fully benefit from. Then told, slavery was so long ago! But the pain of it still ripples like waves in a pond. Slave traders are replaced by cops kneeling on our necks. While racism is more undercover. Except for the internet trolls who bask in anonymity.

    This really speaks to every western man that watches. We want that, we want the tradition of the warrior cast. To sacrifice for our people, to be the warriors and bulwark against terror. My brothers were once like this but other nations forced us to adapt while the Native American tradition lives on. Which makes us jealous and reminiscent,This modernity is driving manhood into the fuckin ground
