For a show like this, u have to always remain between the US and Middle East in a physical geographical sense ...any deviation from that....viewers will lose interest unless they make it an Iran thing.
The cast were interviewed at the end of the previous season and all but said they were warned not to do any plots that might resemble Trump administration activities. Then this season was delayed for a long time. Any guess how many episodes had to be scrapped and re-written after the nudge they received?
I'm with you. I want to see the episodes, but then that would mean we're closer to the end. I'm not making sense.

Homeland is the best series I have seen and I am going to miss Carrie and Saul. Another season please.

It has nothing to do with the ratings. After the end of Season 5, the showrunners and cast decided that they were going to bring it to a natural conclusion with this season

There should be a 24/Homeland crossover and have Jack Bauer and Carrie Matheson team up. I mean, hey. Jack is currently in prison at Moscow and Russia is a big part of the plot so it seems. Perfect set up there. :D
Even in cinematic standards, Jack Bauer ('s character) is more of an action figure rather than a intel officer. In jack's world, his every instinct is correct, every lead is the last one, every crisis is an emergency that needs some utterly overkill measure. Effective spy team? Think of 'The Americans' and 'Homeland'.
Carrie will get it back somehow. She’s got a habit of beating people who think they can’t be beat.
I don't understand why she couldn't immediately uploaded the recording file straight to the cloud as well as screenshots taken to verify that this flight recording is from this "helicopter". She should've done that right after listening to the audio. That way it wouldn't matter if the flight recorder was taken by someone else. They wasted their time and effort retrieving the recorder only to have one person listen to it and later on getting it taken by Yevgeny. Knew that bastard wasn't trustworthy. It sure as hell wasn't love that provoked him to help her lol. Now it's going to be a pain in the ass to get it back. Not to mention the 1m you gave away. Either sloppiness or Carrie's old methods were sniffed out by a KGB agent a long long time ago. Too bad her vulnerabilities overshadowed her ability to be focused and aware. Saul saw this a mile away and even warned her multiple times. Season 8 is so far my fav season. The writers are really good.
@Lucas CFranco good point, but how would that benefit their end goal?
that's just Carrie being Carrie. She is too eager to know the 'truth' and couldn't hold back when she finally had the chance to know it.
@Lucas CFranco Max wasn't tracked because he wasn't their priority. Same as Jalal who only showed up on their radar because he claimed responsibility for the downed helicopter, after Max had been shot.
She was not able to finish listening to it.
Simply because the season would have been 2 episodes shorter ;)
i knew thing could go wrong the moment carrie stayed there to listen to the recorder, and yevgeny did;t look like he is buying carrie's words from the very beginning
she was so stupid to sit there and listen to it.

I just finished watching this episode (10) now (they always release it a day early on app and just wow wow wow....I don't think I can't wait for these last two.....we're in lock in crisis, release the final 2 NOW
Every time you feel like Carrie gotten somewhere, there a setback. Like the flight recorder was in her hand, then Yevgeny stole it from her. 1 step forward, 2 steps back and back to square one lol

I knew Yevgeny was not a good guy, Carrie is very submissive to him, he handled her very well. A nuclear war is coming. Amazing season as always, I just not want Carrie dead at the end, omg!
You'd think she'd have cottoned on to that. The whole episode I kept waiting for them to kiss and kept hoping I was wrong.
No way they killed Carrie off of the show

When most good shows like The Sopranos or Breaking Bad aired their final episode, we were left longing for more. With Homeland, it went on several seasons too long and I became sick of the characters. The plots became ridiculously implausible. Good riddance, Homeland.
