This is a pretty good video will definitely help me out. My friend has a 335i he’s moving to Texas and it shit on him a month before he leaves so he’s going to fly out to Texas and I will be fixing it for him then he will come back for it. He hasn’t had time to fix it with moving, work and everything else
For anyone who experiences this and the car still runs what you can do is if your car is overcharging and starts to make the lights and wipers go off, is disconnect the positive end of the alternator and just run it on the battery. You should have just enough juice in the battery to make it home.
I feel that BMW doesn't use enough different fasteners and unique tools for service. I only had to use a 7mm, 8mm, 10mm, 13mm, 2X18mm sockets, a 17mm allen key, a breaker bar, a hammer, a center punch, a support jack, and an entire day to change my transfer case fluid on an E90. On my Chevy I can easily reach the drain and fill plugs with just a 3/8ths drive socket. Wish BMW would definitely up the count on unique tools you have to buy to do basic service.
Gas4money _ yessir. There is one torx that needs to be removed on the driver side at the bottom of the fan. You can look at my serpentine belt replacement video I have up to see the process .
As you can see there is a little play in that wire. You could try barely removing it to get a better angle. Just careful not to pull too hard to snap it. 👍🏽
@@cloving1414 Hey thank you! The wires were tucked under the switch. I repositioned them and was able to get my index finger under and pop it off. Whew!

Did this and “sals corner” (another UA-cam n54 trick) and I got this in and out this was a painnnn in the asss but it was better then $2k to the damn dealer

FYI, if anyone ever reads this, you can lift the gaitor surround on the shifter, and theres a switch that lets you force select neutral.
Someone commented this! Thanks for the input. Wish I would’ve known at the time haha
Yes, we just had to do this.
Brother you’re a genius. Love how you keep it simple
Never jump the battery from the back. Use the terminals under the hood.
@Neil Gus wtf is this scuffed ass scam
It all connects to the same
Shit lmfao - the battery. 😂
BIG FACTS
I just fried my module tryna jump start it had to replace it

Thank you very much !!! And yeah those metal cuts make it so easy!!
@cj loving did you have to do anything after when starting it or did you start it back up
Should be good to just start up once installed!
so i’m about to order my alternator from that same place you got it, and which one should i get the bosch or genuine bmw??
Bosch and genuine the same just different brand stamp cut bmw has Bosch make their items . Go with the Bosch 180amp

But did it fix the issue?
Your driving BMW so that means BMW break my wallet.
Bret Hart pretty much man! Lol
@Anonymous Anonymous very true!
If u pop the gear shifter there is a hole to put a screwdriver in pull it back and the car goes into neutral
So what tool is it to do the belt tensioner, I'm thinking of doing this myself
Gas4money _ it’s just a T60 with a bar on it for reach.
