    I got the Saltiga 60 too couple months ago. I haven’t used it yet. I’m waiting for my trip on the Apollo next month! I can’t wait to catch my first BFT on it!

    love the reel have a Saltiga LD40 2 speed, great free spool, holds up to the blue fin tuna in a heat of battle, and never have to worry about drag problems or lack of power.

    I'm thinking about adding some Saltiga's to the lineup when you set the drag to the higher side do they get a lot of side load pressure when cranking like the single drag Avet's do.

    I'm considering this reel for speed jigging 1600+ft and deep dropping in maldives, I'm assuming that a PE6 braid 97lb test should do the job. Looking for a strong rod that will be good for 1-2lb. jigs

    Just got the 55. Basically a 60 narrow. Thanks for mentioning which 100# hollow braid you used in the comments. 🤘

    What rod is that? And what kind of fish can we expect from this.

    I'm looking at this for a yoyo reel, not sure of the size yet. I haven't gotten to any tackle shops to look at it in person. From specs, it looks like the 40 would be ideal. What do you recommend?

      It's always best to get into a tackle shop so that you can check out the reel first hand and see how it fits in your hand, weight, size etc.

    LD55 or LD60 for flat falls/jigs and sinker rigs? Can't decide between the two sizes. Thanks 🤘

      Can't go wrong with either. They have the same drag abilities, so you have to decide if you want the extra line capacity that the 60 can handle. Both would be great setups for flatfall fishing big ones.

    What brand of braid did you guys fill the reel with?

    • @BDOutdoorsdotcom
      @BDOutdoorsdotcom  2 роки тому

      Hey Martin, this specific reel was spooled with Seaguar 100lb hollow braid.

    I've been considering this reel or the Shimano Speedmaster II. Which would you recommend?

    • @BDOutdoorsdotcom
      @BDOutdoorsdotcom  Рік тому

      It's really personal preference. They're both great reels. Best thing to do would be to go into a tackle shop that has both options and check them out side by side to see which will be best for you.

    Do you think you could cast 4-6 oz surface irons with it?

    • @BDOutdoorsdotcom
      @BDOutdoorsdotcom  7 місяців тому

      The 60 size would be challenging, but with the smaller Saltiga's, casting surface irons is definitely doable! You'll have a much better chance at landing those larger models too if you fish with these two speed reels. It might take some practice, but you'll be thanking yourself next time you hook into a larger model tuna.

    I’m getting this put 100 braid on it , what is your recommendation for the rod

    • @BDOutdoorsdotcom
      @BDOutdoorsdotcom  2 роки тому

      Hey Bruce, you'll love it! I'm sure you can get even more recommendations from tackle shops and fellow BD'ers, but we would recommend a H-XXH rod around 6.5-8ft long, rated for line somewhere in the range of 60-130lbs.
