Yah. Pretty much my next tuna reel. You could probably get a good 150 pound yellowfin or bluefin with this and a lot of yellowtail, dolphin fish, and albacore with this reel. And if you’re lucky, an opa. It’s a good all a-rounder for what I like to do every year.

Sorry that's just not something i do. It's best to go by line capacity and physical weight to compare sizes, especially when the internals are the same. Thank you for the kind words!
I bought an Accurate Valiant BV2 800 for tuna. The low/high gear button mechanism failed after the first trip. I fixed it myself and discovered the inner spring was dislodged somehow. I bought this reel for line-capacity-to-weight-ratio as probably being the best I could find on the market, but my initial pick was the Saltiga LII60. The finish on Accurate reels are of lower standard than today's Chinese made reels. The paintwork on the lettering wasn't even fully painted on properly and the reel sounds clunky when changing gears. I was very disappointed with my purchase. I ended up buying the Saltiga LDII60 anyway and couldn't be happier. Yes it's a lot heavier and maybe just has a tad more line capacity than the Accurate, but the smoothness, solidity, finish and overall build quality is second to none. The tiagra is probably the pinnacle of overhead reels but it's even heavier, old and nowhere close to being attractive as the Saltiga.
@slyarsenal is the 2 speed mechanism reliable in your Saltiga? I am looking at single speed 20 size but really contemplating the 2 speed if I hook up with a 100lb + halibut
@RF3seeker I've never had an issue with my Saltiga Ldii. It feels way more solid when clicking between gears than a junk Accurate. I'm a Daiwa guy tbh but I also highly rate the Penn International and of course Shimano overhead reels, whom I actually think are the best for such reels. The Saltiga LDII reels just knocked it out of the park for me so I had to buy one. Only 2 complaints are weight and line capacity, which could be major deciding factors for buyers but when you fish with them, they're unbelievable. High quality construction as always by Daiwa

Had a killer deal on this overcast. Couldn't let it pass. Got it paired up with my proteus 8 foot heavy.

Couldn't agree more. Dauntless 2 speed is a failure, they ended that series and won't admit their 2 speed is garbage
