This is a very good example on how strong and well built this reel is. I have the 15 and 35. And I am going to put them on June for the mother ship. Never used once. I've had them for a year now. When they were first released. Can't wait to see what it will put up against.
Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.
The drag type doesn't influence cranking power, that's down to the gear train and crank radius. So if the two reels have different cranking power and also different drags, that's purely coincidental. Like the famous saying says "Correlation does not imply causation ".
So I have two saltigas LDs now and I love them, the only thing I noticed is after a day of use and after washing them throughly after a few days they tend to buildup salt in the tiny crevice where the spool meets the reel. I was wondering if you have seen this or have any fix for it.
Great combo, but I don’t get out enough in a boat to spend them $$$.. love the videos tho, hope the lockdown ends quickly and you can get back out there 🤙
Hey man .. never used a narrow spool before .. just wondering with the retrieve and line lay do you still use you finger to guide it on spool or does it do it itself due to being narrow ? Thanks .. and great vid 👌
@@TackleWest If you are SPJ like you should then there is no need to ever guide the line on a narrow reel. To correct any line pileup just tilt the reel either left or right and the line will correct itself.
@@hosu5724 That's one of the problems in today's fishing gear market. Everybody and their mother wants to design the latest and greatest, best of the best fishing reel. This often leads to manufacturers no longer producing parts for yesterday's reels. I have a few Daiwa reels myself that will be nothing more than scrap metal if anything ever goes wrong with them because Daiwa stopped making parts for them years ago. To be fair, this isn't just happening in the fishing reel industry. We live in a disposable world where the technology of yesterday becomes outdated so fast, the manufacturers don't have any reason to make parts available for years down the line. As far as they're concerned, by the time it breaks, it'll be time to get a new one anyway. Totally sucks, but that's the world we live in.

Would you recommend for slow jigging
Hi I was wondering if the size Ld10 and Le 15 were the same size in circumference? Is the 10 just more narrow or smaller in circumference also?
Hi, does this 20 saltiga LD10H come with Left handle crank. Thank you.
No these LD models only available in right hand
@@TackleWest Thank you for your kind reply. I was thinking to get one of this. I will wait for Left hand crank. Cheers buddy :)
I need to get my hands on one of those.

yes this is normal for an overhead reel, I would suggest not over washing it. Wet rag and then dray rag is the best way to clean your reels
Whats the second fish called ive never seen it before in my 20 years of fishing

What's the differences between the 35 size and the 35N-SJ?
Are you looking at Ld or SD model?
@@TackleWest the Ld model, thanks mate.
There is no 35N-SJ model in LD
@@TackleWest sorry was meaning the main differences between the 35 Ld and the 35N-SJ star drag.
One is a star drag reel and one is a lever drag
This can be for casting as well? How many meters braided and mono?
No it is not a casting reel.
FYI - Split butt rods love to fall out of rod holders when a boats under power. This learning cost a Stella
Man I really want this reel. I have a saltist 35p finishing mono speedmaster 2 that I would trade for the saltiga.
I see you comment about shimano and daiwa somewhere. You’re fan daiwa
@@kenth6140 cuz I own a talica and speed master 2
@kongxiong6005 how do you find the talica
@@TryABaconSlice talicas are sold everywhere. Pretty mainstream. Bass pro. eBay. Amazon. Local tackle shops can order it for you

Where can I buy that reel?

You still need to, to some degree but it’s not as much as a normal O/H

Same price range with the Shimano Tiagra at the same size..
Worst thing about diawa later you can't get parts replacement for it!
That’s false. You can get parts
I got a saltiga 20 and took it to Diawa and they return it said they don't make parts no more cuz the reel is discontinue
