Dan Lampinski recorded over 100 concerts in the Providence/Boston area, mostly between 1974 and 1978. His earliest recordings were made with an internal microphone deck, and though they are somewhat lo-fi compared to his later work, some very great moments in rock history were captured for posterity. In late 1974 he bought a Sony TC-152SD tape recorder, a Sony ECM-99 stereo microphone, and began using Maxell cassettes. He was also fortunate enough to have a friend who provided excellent taping seats for many shows, resulting in high quality recordings. In 1977, he switched over to a Nakamichi 550 tape recorder, two Nakamichi CM-300 microphones, and continued using Maxell cassettes.
He recorded many of the major 70's bands: Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, ELP, Kiss, Black Sabbath, The Who, Al Stewart, Alice Cooper, Jeff Beck, Bruce Springsteen, Supertramp, Jean-Luc Ponty, Moody Blues, Neil Young, The Faces, Rush, Rick Wakeman, Kansas, as well as several "under the radar" acts.
Since Dan never traded copies of his recordings, they are all essentially uncirculated. Some copies were made for friends, but these releases are the first time most of these recordings have ever seen the light of day, and are direct from his master cassettes. No EQ'ing has been done to any of the transfers. Feel free to EQ, matrix, patch, etc and re-post if you like, just give Dan credit for the original recording.
Dan was very meticulous about taking good care of his tapes and is very pleased that these recordings will now circulate among the trading community. Please honour his kindness and generosity by sharing these recordings freely.
The transfers are available as 16bit/44.1KHz flac files suitable for CD burning, and also as 24bit/96KHz flac files for those who prefer the higher resolution.
Always remember - the more generous you are with your music, the more it comes back to you.

Now you can go to the dispensaries in Massachusetts, or even grow at home, and then tape it to a frisbee and throw it. Although you can't go to live concert. So, in that respect, yes, the good *sic* old days.

Found it again on Dime almost 20 years ago. Yes, this is the best Floyd show, overall; and your're listening to the best source version. God bless the tapers, each & every one of us!

I was at this show & I can still remember it…which is odd because of the rumors that there were shenanigans being consumed, like it was yesterday. It was that memorable. I’ve seen PF a half dozen or more times and I rate this up with The Wall which I was very lucky to catch at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, NY.
But this was the 1st concert I went to in the Gardens, having just moved up from VA. I wish someone would release video of this show…it would be the closest I’ll likely get to time travel with the years I have left.
    God Bless & rock on⚡️💥

I have been a Floyd fan since probably '79 when I first heard Another Brick, I was 11 years old at the time. Not sure what it is but I am having a massive resurgence of wanting to listen to Floyd again, probably down to watching Nick Mason's Saucerfull of Secrets recently....Thanks Nick.
Thanks very much for this fantastic recording Dan Lampinski and also to Kev and Carl for uploading it.
    Priceless to any Floyd fan

my lord, this is a clean recording, sure wish there were a couple of filmed shows tho....and even more so, I still wish these 2 guys would wake the fuck up and go out share some of the music they can make while there is still time, albeit very little TIME. What a sin that those two guys could never admit they were way way better together than apart...

This is definitely one of the better sounding boots, ( most suck and really are just for posterity to those at the concert ) can actually hear the drums as most recordings they're always buried. Will have to say though, the freaking whistling is annoying as hell.

If there ever was a performance that should have been released as a live album, this would be that performance.
Having seen PF in 77 (Animals), 80 (The Wall) and 94 (Pulse) this sounds better.
Between Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall, PF was the best band.

The plane would crash in to the stage at the end of 'On The Run.' So this was a feature at shows long before 'The Wall.'

Here’s a clue . I was @ this unbelievable show, yes this very one. Animals and Wish You Where Here had both yet to be released but the songs already existed. You just cannot fathom how mind blowing this particular concert was . I and my matés virtually sat in the press box seats cordoned off from the rest in attendance because one of my friends Dad was in the Irish Mob and made shit sure we got the VIP treatment. Seventeen years old on two hits of Orange Sunshine each all with our own sacks of Acapulco Whitey Bulger Gold and wood desks in front of our seats to do our business on .

"Raving and Drooling" (the early version of "Sheep"), as well as "You've Got To Be Crazy" (the early version of "Dogs") were already performed live in 1974 and intended for the "Wish You Were Here" album.
