    Wow striking plumage and amazing how this bird adapted to be able to eat bees which most animals would avoid. Kingfishers are fascinating as well. Have seen a couple in the wild and you can't mistake the shape and their behavior around water for any other bird.

    You all missed why the bird was throwing bees up in the air. It's to re-adjust bee so that the stringer is left side of the beak so the bird can smack it on the ground.

      @@youxarexmyxsunshine at 0:25, the bird threw the bee in the air a few times to position the bee, so its stinger is at a position where the bird can see it. You notice, the bird slams the bee, then pauses to visually look for the stinger. The bird slams the bee a few more times and the stinger is gone. You can see the bird looking for it.

    When they're hunting, the bee eater's acrobatics is a wonderful sight to watch. I watch them hunting most of year. I named them paper birds. I've only seen blue/green bee eaters but not this orange ones.
