I was amazed at how the parents forced the remaining chick to fledge soon to avoid another attack. The Shikra came back after the chick fledged. Thankfully, the baby escaped.

Sometimes the baby even pushed out the already hatched siblings, not just unhatched eggs. I know its just nature, and it's just a baby. But it's just hard to feel bad for that kind of behavior.

This time the pigeons came close to my terrace very close to me and made their nest and started over their baby bird upraising and hopefully until now the crow hasn't found them or hasn't dared to get close to me to catch the plus I have an eye on baby birds. We've bought beef and milk from farmers who raise their cattle as quasi-pets. When my household raised chickens and got too many roosters and had to eat some, we made sure to kill them in a non-traumatizing way. While factory farming is generally depressing, it's absolutely _possible_ to raise and slaughter animals for food FAR more humanely after a much higher quality of life the animals could *reasonably expect* in the wild; it's not _necessarily_ hypocritical for a non-vegan to regard the unspeakable blind cruelty of Nature as something to be surpassed.
