This is an AMAZING video. This was one of the largest part of our life’s (My Brother & I) we were number #18 and #19 black belt and this studio made and transformed my life. Thank you sooooo much for the video. Marcelo and Rick Garcia. Also miss Mr.Oki ALOT (Big part of my life) till this day I think about him. We were both part of Sherman oaks Chuck Norris studio and both of the Tarzana studios. WOW I cannot say enough after seeing this video. Best part of my life.
Thank you for posting this video, which takes me back to a time when my life was very magical. Seeing Mr. Rick Oki again was a real tear-jerker, and I saw all those great people I've met on my journey. I checked, and I'm number 18 from the early days in the Tarzana Karate studio. Thank you for your wisdom and inspiration, I will be forever grateful.
Thank you Sir for the years of dedication, loyalty and love that you have shared with all your students and our community. You have been a gift to my life, my school and the entire martial arts community. You have left a legacy that is an inspiration to live by. Respect and Honor.
Thank you so much for your kind words and generosity. The clip of the GGM and the boy talking, that piece of carpet was donated by you Master Fariborz. GGM thanks you at the end of the performance.
What a wonder video on your father. Love the rich history and you continuing the legacy in his footsteps. I just earned my first degree black belt on January 18th, 2024 after 11 years. Can't wait to compete in the black belt division and judge. #TangSoo
Thank you Great Grandmaster Ichikawa. I carry the memories of learning from you in my heart always. Your faith in me inspired me to have faith in myself when I needed it. You taught me how to fail upward: to learn from my errors and perform better the next time. From learning how to take a hit to designing and performing my own form (Divine Wind) with confidence, you brought out the best in me then and continue to now. Thank you. Much love and respect, Wil Simpson (Tarzana Karate, #74)
This is great, seeing pics of me and my dad at Tarzana and that video of you in front of the class at T.O. Westlake on Hampshire (with your green belt), bring back a lot of memories.
@@SenseiIchiso far I’ve caught (mostly the back of my head) @ 0:10 secs right in the center , 0:37 secs right by the brown locker and 3:24 center again. My Dad at 17:03 and 17:08.
Hopefully there are still masters like you in Tang Soo Do. I did taekwondo for 4 years and was with a great master. I find Tang Soo Do super interesting.
The second location across the street from the original location in Tarzana on Ventura Blvd, was that the Tang Soo Do dojo that was featured at the beginning of the movie No Retreat No Surrender (1985)?
What a beautiful touching video. My regards. Justin, sir you are a true credit to your father. I wish you all the success your father made and beyond. One day we shall meet. Ill drop you a DM soon also. ✊🇰🇷🇺🇸Tang Soo🇺🇸🇰🇷✊
@@SenseiIchi yes sir I certainly do, it would be great to speak to you about it, as I have studied many arts since childhood and have kinda adjusted my TSD, which on some aspects is similar to ATSD. I just love diversity. 🙏✊🇰🇷🇺🇸
I totally forgot about having to do pushups for saying "yeah." I did my fare share. 😆 I guess I didn't learn my lesson well enough because then about 9 years later I was doing pushups in boot camp for saying "yeah." 🤦🏻 Brings back memories seeing this video.

It speaks volumes of this man as an instructor . But more importantly as a wonderful human being. By the esteem his students hold him in .
Now that is an AweSome Living Legacy.
Right ? What was your favorite part??
