Yes the latch has broken on both of my sliding glass doors and so I am in the market to replace them, so some explanation of what you are doing would be awesome. How are you deciding where the various screws and parts go? Also how did you determine what sort of lock to replace your existing lock with, are they all the same or are there certain brands you have to get? I don't see any brand or model number printed on my locks so I am not clear on how to determine what sliding door lock my locks can be replaced with, without having to modify the door.
