Goku's Escape: Resin Art Diorama

- After #SuperSaiyan Goku defeats the diabolical Frieza, Planet Namek is left in a catastrophic state, ready to explode from the damage done during their battle. The once beautiful terrain turns to nothing but molten lava and Goku is forced to do whatever he can to get off planet before he is consumed by the Planet's ultimate destruction.
This, along with the highly regarded The Legendary Super Saiyan Goku figure by #SHFiguarts provided me the perfect inspiration for a Dying Planet Namek #diorama. I also drew inspiration from the @Boylei UA-cam channel for this project, attempting my first Zenithal highlight and resin pour which I learned from watching his incredible videos.
Concluding voiceover by Eli Harris.

Beautiful build, man! Your rock work is always fantastic. Glad you had a good resin experience. Thanks for the shoutout!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad I came across your videos and got the confidence to use resin. It's a game-changer for sure. I love your channel, so I was very happy to shout you out. Appreciate you watching the video!
Awesomeness yet again. I enjoy @Boylei content as well! Definitely sharing!
Thanks Rich! Always appreciate your support on these videos. Boylei is the best!
Bro your videos are so high quality and the algorithm is starting to recommend your stuff, just keep at it.
Thank you Joshua!!! I appreciate the encouragement and the support
Right on, looks really good!
Thank you! I appreciate you coming over from Rocco's live and checking out my videos.
Fantastic work!!! Looking forward to how your resin pours evolve in the future!!
Thanks Justin! I was definitley nervous about doing my first pour, but overall am happy with how it turned out.
Amazing work
Thank you Adrian!!!
Didn’t know it was called a Zenathal highlight, been doing that since I was a kiddo to add highlights and shadows to stuff, first Time I tried it was on a guitar I repainted
I didn't know about that technique at all until I learned it from Boylei, but I'm not surprised you have been using it for years! Thanks for checking this out, Jordan! I know DBZ isn't your thing and appreciate the support man.
great job i have been putting off a pond dio using two part resin pour that I have in my shop. Think I will get started on it because popeye needs a pond!
Thanks so much! Yes, you need to make a pond for Popeye. Please let me know when that is finished because I would love to see. Appreciate the support!
Amazing!!!
Thank you! Glad I pushed myself to try the resin pour. Will have to do a lot more of those on future builds.
Definitely got me wanting to try and maybe a different color lava since we not 100% on other planets core colors
Very cool! Yes for sure. If you get the pack or pigments I got there are 16 different colors in there, so you could really experiment and have some options.
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Thanks! Appreciate you watching the video.
lol, i saw ur unboxing, n honestly ur exciting face made me continue, i was a figure fan like 20 yrs ago, this really brings a smile to my face lol
That's very cool to hear! I LOVE making dioramas for action figures. I hope you'll check out some of my other projects 😀
@@vascotoys i used to have dragonball figures, but switched to gundam, ni would love to make dioramas....but u know....lazy lol
@@uasakura ohhhh I love Gundam, but don't collect them. They would be so fun to make dioramas for.
@@vascotoys i did try make a fight scene out of it, i used a hot rod to poke a hole through, n stick a light saber through with led lighing to make the saber glow, it was the coolest thing ive made with figures, but tat alone took me 3 weeks o figure out lol
@@uasakura that sounds awesome! Yes. These definitley have a large time commitment, so it's important to enjoy the process, not just the end result.
Looks gorgeous!!!!! Congratulations on your first resin pour!!!! ❤🎉❤
Thank you so much! I'm glad it worked out.
@@vascotoys you are very welcome 🤗
This is awesome! Great job on it dude, this could also be a cool Dio for most DragonBall stuff including DBS Broly when Broly and Goku are fighting right before Frieza kills his dad
Thanks Ty! Yes, totally. I actually made that dio years ago before I was comfortable using resin. I feel like you could use this kind of piece with Star Wars, Marvel Legends, G.I. Joe and so many other lines as well.
Annnnnnd now I'll be making another diorama for my KO, KD Studio Namek end Goku statue thanks to you. 😂
So glad I found the channel, seriously.
That's so cool to hear! If you make one, please tag me so I can see it. I seriously appreciate the support 🙏
Big fan of the channel. This came out awesome
Thank you, TK Magic Shop!!! That means a lot to me. Glad you like the diorama. I'm really relieved the resin pour worked out.
Wonder if you can use glow in the dark paint in that resin. Like that it will glow in the dark.
That's an interesting thought! I may have to look into it.
Too cool!
Thank you! Always happy to hear when someone enjoys a Diorama I made.
I am pretty sure resin is toxic if breathed in. I know when I work with resin, I always wear a mask. Also, I think many toxic things don't have a smell. I think I read somewhere that most smells are actually artificially given to toxic fumes so it can act as a warning instead of being an odorless killer.
You should be fine unless you work with it a ton in the future. Just thought I'd add this here for anyone wondering. Better safe than sorry.
Great point! Safety has to be #1. As I mentioned, I did my research on the product I ordered and thoroughly read the instructions before use. Eye and skincare protection were recommended for what I used. Thanks for checking this out and leaving an important comment.
@vascotoys
Yeah, hopefully they have it all properly labeled, but I don't trust em.. haha
Great video, btw. Love the dio. I'm tempted to do this when full power frieza comes in!
@@941asland thanks man! Yes, I agree, when in doubt putting a respirator on can never hurt. I am Sooooo excited for full power Frieza! You should totally give something like this a shot.
Yeah it’s basically liquid cancer
I’m not there yet to attempt resin. Still working on my foam board skills.
Gotcha! Take things one step at a time and have fun!
The dio came out great! How many drops of dye did you use per cup?
Great question, but I wish I had a better answer for you. The way I would describe it is that I was generous. I don't know how many drops, but I knew I wanted my resin to be opaque, so I put quite a bit in.
@@vascotoys much appreciated. I think I've been using too little, also didn't occur to me until watching your video to use different cups for each color.
🔥🔥🔥 +1 sub
Thanks so much for checking this out and for the sub! Glad you liked the video.
is it possible to make bubbling effect with resin?
Great question. I suspect it is, but as this was my first resin pour, I have never done that kind of effect with resin.
My opinion plaster ruined all your hard work sculpting
It did take away some of the details from the sculpt. That can likely be fixed in future projects. I can likely do a better job when applying the plaster to preserve the details or only use it on the area the resin will be. The Plaster was essential to protect the foam from the resin.
@@vascotoys improvement is always the goal for sure i think your process is really good i just really liked the details you put into the foam.
@@chrisbrannen8091 thanks! I appreciate that for sure and always appreciate the comments and support on my videos.
