I have both. No regrets for me or you. The triax has an advantage over the Veritx: size. The Vertix has its pros over the Triax: less vibe. From a hunting perspective both will get the job done, far better than a Hoyt or Bowtech.
@Boxing 101 i like the shorter axle to axle. I hunt from a climber a lot that has a shooting rail and i can shoot from a seated position with the triax. My triax is maxed right now at 73 lbs. Im interested in the new grip but out of all the bows i tested when buying the triax it was my favortite grip at the time.
The vertix is 20% quieter than the triax because it’s a little bit longer at 30” according to this guy. There are only a few differences between the triax and the vertix. The triax is 4” shorter than the halon 32 which is quieter than both of these bows. So based on the evidence I’ll just stick with my halon 32. Next year they’ll have a halon 32 variant with a 75 to 80lb draw and call it the latest and greatest.
Boxing 101 I get all that. All I’m saying is at the end of the day the vertix doesn’t improve enough to justify the purchase also the triax and the vertix are both slower than the halon 32. I cronographed my bow yesterday and it was shooting 296fps on a 415 grain arrow. So at the end of the day I’m just gonna keep my bow. Might get another monster for big game.
@Boxing 101 Yep it's funny watching people chase speed. I build arrows as heavy as needed to get them right around 280 fps. I think it's the perfect speed to minimize broadhead steering without impacting trajectory too much. Plus, any bow shoots quieter with a heavier arrow. Build with 12-15% foc with an appropriate spine and toss on a fixed blade head of your choice. That's what I call a perfect kill stick!
Is this guy serious? Over 300fps on hunting arrow will cause broadheads to fly diffrent? That's a joke! Maybe it's a Matthew's thing but every bow I've shot iv tuned the bow and broadhead to my set up and have shot arrows 320-330 fps and have stacked broadheads next to my field tip out past 70 yards with no trouble.
Nice review but you are mistaken when you mention that its best not to go over 300 fps with hunting arrows. That is absolutely not an accurate statement. I shoot Obession bows and with many of their bows I have shot broadheads at 325 - 335 fps without issue. I have proved this by shooting Ramcat broadheads at 100 yards with field points. The video shows the broadheads are impacting perfectly with field points at 100 yards. So please don't mislead people by stating that its best not to shoot over 300 fps. I had to grin at this one.

I like your videos! Very accurate assessment of Mathews bows. I definitely agree with you about bow speed too high leads to its own problems.

Yup. My vertix is 70# 29.5” shoots a 510gr arrow at 280 FPS. Seems like a sweet spot for tuning and it penetrates like crazy.
