    Is your BOV not venting or opening? Out of no where my Forge atmospheric BOV on my Fiat 124 Spider Abarth started to barely vent or open. I finally found the issue and got it working again. If your BOV is not opening or venting properly, this is something to look into!
    But I still have another lingering issue where the BOV is very delayed at times. I cover this in the second half of the video. Still trying to figure this one out, so if anyone has any input, drop a comment!

    UPDATE: I mention in this video that I may need longer hosing so it would not kink. After recording this video, I looked deeper into the hosing issue and actually it does not need to be longer. The problem was that the hose was in this weird “S” type tangle which put extra tension on it causing that kink. Honestly shorter hose and just moving the hose over and zip tying it so it does not cause an extra bend is the best fix. I’ve come to hear that it’s best to try and keep your hosing as short as possible when it comes to your BOV, so just wanted to clarify since in the video I mentioned few times I may need a longer hose which is not the case.

      Looks like you have soft silikon hoses, they will flat out of the vacuum thus delayed venting. You need harder wall hoses. But you have probably fixed this by now.

    Life saver!!! I went stage 2 crackle tune on my Golf r a couple of months ago. Noticed that my BOV wasn’t going off at higher RPMS and inconsistently at lower RPMs. The “crackle” I was supposed to get wasn’t happening neither. I would hear that weird intake flutter as you did. I can’t believe I have been driving like that for all this time lol I found one of my hoses was bent at a 90 degree angle and when I made it straighter, everything is in sync and now I’m getting mad crackles from my exhaust. I just hope I didn’t do any damage to anything 😬😬

Been watching your stuff for a while, love your content 👌 I'm glad this video helped you 😁Before this car I also had a MK7.5 Golf R Stage 2 Unitronic tune, the car was a beast! If you're ever in the NJ area and want to link up for some car content let me know!

    Excellent video, really well done. This is Greg from EC, the Forge valve is the best on the market for these cars, but the hose they include is only medium quality. We do stock much better hose, and I'll be happy to send you some, if you want it just give me a call. Perhaps I should put some sort of kit together.

      Thank you Greg! I have some extra hosing from when I got your Intercooler and already swapped out the top longest hose. I still have a delay in the BOV (I may just re-hose the entire thing to see if it helps). I spoke a bit with Brandon about it and will try to touch base tomorrow some more. I guess most importantly I just want to make sure it's not causing heavy stress on the turbo if the BOV is delayed like that. And yea you should definitely put a hose kit together! I think people will be interested both for the quality upgrade, and the aesthetics if you offer different colors 👍

    actually this was obvious in your previous videos. simply turbo pressure in the manifold was backing up to your turbo turbine when you let off the throttle. I didn't leave a comment thinking maybe I was wrong. good to hear you noticed it because it could cause bigger problems.

    Turn you T connector so it goes straight through with the other line coming off at 90 degrees. Should shorten the line a little as well.

    • @DrivenDistrict
      @DrivenDistrict  3 роки тому

      Good idea! After this video (as a quick fix to the kink) I moved the T more over to the left side which basically makes that hard kink area more straight through. I zip tied it over which now keeps that line straight instead of having those weird bends. But I plan to re-hose it and to make the lines smaller and at that point i'll see if re-positioning the T will be better! 👍

    See, mine is having the issue of venting while on throttle during a pull. It opens for like half a second, then does it like 2 more times before it continues to climb rpm.I can't find any videos explaining that, so if anyone has any ideas pls help.

    Got a turbosmart bov on a audi A3. I used to get that cool “pssh” sound when I let off the throttle. Today, I get a more higher pitched sound. What’s weird is, it sounds normal when the windows are either open or closed, but when I open the sunroof, I get the high pitched sound. Could this be the same issue, or something else?
    NB. Before today, it would sound normal whether the sunroof is opened or closed.

    So I have a 2013 SHO and I have two electronic BOV and haven’t been able to hear my BOVs at all and my turbos have been whistling louder then usual. Any ideas? I live in WNY it’s been extremely cold but have had 40 degree days and same thing

    • @DrivenDistrict
      @DrivenDistrict  2 роки тому +1

      Have you checked the hoses for kinks? Mine had one that caused the BOV to not work properly. Later on though I still had issues with delay or not venting at times and it was actually the BOV solenoid that went bad. I'm running a Forge BOV and they sent me a new solenoid; after replacing it then it started working again properly. Another thing is it could be sticking...taking it apart and cleaning/grease it could potentially fix it IF that is the issue. I took mine apart cleaned/greased and the issue still persisted so for me it wasn't that.

    • @tracemiller1519
      @tracemiller1519 2 роки тому +1

      @@DrivenDistrict I have looked at many of the lines and didn’t notice a kink but at the same time I wasn’t looking for kinks specifically so maybe I missed something. And maybe that’s what is it the solenoids. I have the stock electric BOV that came with the car with the sport package I took one off and used some sensor cleaner but didn’t make a difference. I assume it’s my BOV because before I could hear them blow off and the iconic shwoosh noise from my CAI that I also can no longer hear. Thanks for the advice!
