Is your Mechanical Turbosmart BOV not venting properly?

- For those of you who are having BOV issues not venting properly, this could be the problem! It’s just simply not getting enough if any vacuum. Make sure your boost reference is after the throttle body. I have a throttle body spacer, and that’s as perfect as a place to get it from as any.
I’m assuming this could apply to any car with a supersonic smart port Turbosmart BOV, not just the f150s, correct me if I’m wrong.
Thank you so much for this! I have been having a horrible turbo surge issue since I installed this BOV. I have been emailing Turbosmart for the past 4 to 5 days and they kept telling me that I had a kink in my vacuum lines. There's no kinks whatsoever. I actually found this video through the f150 ecoboost forum. I sincerely appreciate your video and making that post. This has been a very stressful ordeal. Thanks again!!

Even after I did this in the video I still had some issues so Turbosmart let me swap for the Veeport (electronic version)
Do you live at higher elevation by chance?
@BoostKingMatt it's helped a ton. It still surges under low loads but it's seriously a million times better. Have you had any issues with the Vee port? I went with the supersonic because it was supposed to be the problem free one. But I guess I was wrong about that 😆
@BoostKingMatt I'm going to email them now and maybe they'll exchange it for me as well. I feel like it should be forced to be on one of those holes at all times. It's a really bad design IMO
@BoostKingMatt I'm in Massachusetts so I'm at sea level. But I'm upgrading to the CR Performance stage 3 turbos and I didn't trust the factory bov to hold that boost
@@aaronkowalewski659 I also had the same thought. I’ve had almost zero issues with it. Only one time I can think of, I was driving and I could tell there was no boost. So I went home and cleaned the piston and all was fine.
