  • In this video, I share my review of the Artist TC59, a versatile guitar that has been missing from your collection. As a guitarist, I understand the importance of finding the perfect instrument that meets all your needs, from pickups to body style and versatility. The TC59 is a T-style guitar with humbuckers, making it even more versatile than your traditional T-style guitar. Join me on this journey as I explore the features and sound of this beautiful guitar.
    Starting with the specs, the TC59 features an American ash body and a six-saddle bridge for enhanced intonation. The control layout is traditional, but the push-pull tone knob allows you to split the humbuckers, adding to the guitar's versatility. Speaking of pickups, the TC59 is equipped with Artist's famous bull bucker pickups, which are alnico 5 and quite hot in terms of winding. Moving up the neck, you'll find a traditional maple neck with a comfortable satin finish and a well-cut bone nut.
    When it comes to build quality, the TC59 impresses with its flawless finish, tight neck-body joint, and well-cut bone nut. The setup is impeccable, with low action, no fret buzz, and excellent tuning stability. The attention to detail is evident in features like the straight bridge, the equal distance between the strings and the neck, and the locking tuners.
    Now, let's talk about the sound. The bull bucker pickups offer a balanced and versatile tone, with a full humbucker sound that resembles a Les Paul. The split coil sounds are also impressive, delivering traditional single-coil tones without sacrificing output. The only downside to this guitar is its weight, which can be quite heavy. However, considering its sound, playability, and price, the TC59 is a fantastic option for players looking for a versatile guitar that doesn't break the bank.
    Overall, I highly recommend checking out the Artist TC59 if you're in the market for a quality, versatile guitar. With its solid build, great components, and affordable price, it's a true gem that can satisfy a wide range of playing styles. Subscribe to our channel for more reviews and guitar-related content. Let's keep the music playing and the guitars strumming. Peace out!

    Very Cool, Thankyou. Have been a very happy owner of an Artist Guitars TC59 for a few years now, such an awesome guitar, build quality is outstanding. I now own a few more Artist Guitars and they all have similarly outstanding Build Quality, Finish and playability. All the best. Cheers from Australia

    I just ordered mine but it's an AT92 , they come with upgraded wiring and have strat like contouring which makes them way lighter. Cost $349 Australian have a 100 day return and a 3 year warranty on the hardware...that's $400 cheaper than anything with the same materials and quality , I know what I'm getting and can't wait for it to get here.

      Hey buddy thank you so much for the wonderful comment! Seriously I'm sooo surprised by the Artist guitar! It's rock solid and just quality! Can't believe it's this inexpensive! I think some bigger brands really should learn a lesson! I really wanna try the LP style ! Maybe you can help, do you do you find the LP to be super heavy? Because I have to say that's literally the only issue I have with the Tele...it weighs a tone!

      @@SoulStringChannel So, I am an aged novice and beginner (covid guitar buyer) all rolled into one. I've had a teacher (and other proficient players) comment that while beefy the Artist guitar (LP59) I have is typical of the modern LP style in weight terms. I think its fine but am sitting mostly. Can't help but notice that Artist (at least in Australia) have released a new range of chambered products including the LPs and TCs (with some pickup variants as well). I'd love to see the LP's reviewed (there are a few online already) and think the LP59 is favoured over the others if specs mean anything. Because I'm on the hunt for another weapon to practice with (....my progress must be the guitar's fault) I'm looking at one of their cheaper products, an offset P90 Fender Mustang looking thing which appeals to me and may also interest you. In short, in a world of cheaper guitars that are available in Aust, these stood out and have not disappointed so far.

    I loved my TC59 but I like to play standing up (for a variety of reasons). I sold it and bought the Artist Solaris instead (same pickups, equal build quality, but 24 frets means you get a slightly different tone in the neck). Great review - makes me a little sad I don’t have the TC59 any longer!

    • @SoulStringChannel
      @SoulStringChannel  9 місяців тому

      Cheers for the comment mate. I totally get you, I really love the tone and quality of the TC it's just solid! I just can't really play it live because of the weight. Haven't tried the Solaris! Looks good on the website, is it slightly lighter weight? I'm generally not a massive fan of PRS style guitars but I must say this one looks good!

    • @DanDjurdjevicplus
      @DanDjurdjevicplus 9 місяців тому

      It is really not a PRS - it just has a PRS-like shape with 24 frets. Yes, the scale length is also 25” but somehow the net effect is a slightly brighter neck Bullbucker. Mine is about 3.6 kg, so substantially lighter. I prefer the TC59 tone and switching (the Solaris has a 5 way switch with 2 and 4 being split coil positions). But the build quality is excellent (like the TC59) and I happily accept the 24 fret tone, 10” radius and gloss neck in place of the 1.4 kg weight gain of the TC59!

    Yesh, bro I've got the TC59. Having a tech friend route out about 1.5 kg as the weight the TC59 is ridiculous. It's very versitile, though. Coupled with a slightly modded Tweedtone 20r 20w. I replaced the stock transformer with one having 2x the output. Makes a huge difference. The combination is an over all 9/10.

      Oh hey, thank you for your rs. Your video is spot on re the TC59. Have tried Artist LP, 335 and strat clones. ALL top notch for the money. Afa the weight issue I've contacted 3 techs and none will take on removing material. ☹ So, I'll get a wide strap and grit my teeth. lol
      The combination of the 59 and Tweedtone is exactly the right mix for classic blues and country. Primarily a vocalist I wanted a minimal 'fiddley bits' transition between rhythm/lead. Have settled on using the clean/master vol/guitar vol pot to get clean/dirty. The gtr tone pot is max trb and any eq is from the amp. The reverb is at about 9:30. I just work the vol pot for clean/overdrive. Tried the footswitch, but could never get a good, clean overdrive sound. When I overdrove the clean/master vol it was perfect. So, that's where I've settled.
      The Bullbuck pups have their limits, but at this point I'm good. Artist makes a tele thinline I may get, but that'll be in the future.
      My cost in NZD for the amp was 635 used/shipped, 30 for the pedal/shipped new and 235 for the 59 used. Both the amp and guitar were as new. The amp came w/a fitted cover, too. Got an Artist gigbag for 70/shipped. So, I'm all in at under 1000 for a high quality gig rig punching WAY above its weight. If I went Fender I'd be bumping 3000 for the same rig.
      This is all 60+ yo tech accessible to anyone w/a schematic, soldering gun, solder, tubes, etc. Artist has done a great job of cloning the right stuff and doing it very, very well. All of my students have purchased, tuners, guitars, basses, pedals, bags, amps, etc. and there hasn't been a clunker in the bunch.
      Really enjoyed your video. You got some great tones out of your 59. Just subscribed to your channel. Looking forward to more content. Cheers mate from New Zealand! 🇳🇿

      Decided to grit my teeth and live with the weight. All the players that have heard this rig says it sounds great. The amp/guitar combo is very versatile. The split-coil pups give plenty of options. Btw, I'm outside of Wellie near Porirua.

      @@MeneerHerculePoirot if you Google "Re-finishing an Artist TC59 Pitbull guitar forum" you can check what an Australian did to his TC. He removed the finishing, added some body contours and it turned amazing. He managed to relieve 500g from it, and it could be more if he had routed the wood under the pickguard. Anyway, if I ever buy it I will do it and post it here. Cheers from Torbay, AKL.

    I've had the TC59 for two years, if like me you live in the tropics and don't have AC it does go out of tune. Wood still moves with temp and humidity, nothing you can do about that. Otherwise, yeh - agree with everything else said here, especially the weight.

I don't live in a tropical climate (the UK 🤣) but it really doesn't surprise me. I tend to believe that if the guitar is soo heavy it's cause there is still a lot of moisture in it and therefore is going to move around! Guessing maybe that's where they cut the production costs!
