EggLife Low Carb Wraps - 4 Flavors Reviewed!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 вер 2024
- Most store-bought "keto friendly" tortillas or wraps run a little high in net carbs at 5g-7g each, and many contain potentially inflammatory ingredients, such as soybean oil. In this video, I review the EggLife wraps, which are not only very clean in terms of ingredients, but each of them contain 1g of TOTAL carbs or less.

The plain ones make the best “noodle” layer for keto lasagna. I’ve tried everything: zucchini (wet), roasted zucchini, prosciutto, deli chicken, folios, cremini egg wraps…. This is the only one where my hubs didn’t go “what’s this” and pick the lasagna apart. It held up well to reheating also (which was one of the biggest issues with some of the other layer materials) and the wrap thinned out upon reheating (more lasagna noodly).
You are a genius! Very excited to try them as lasagna!
Great idea, i'll try this as well. Thanks for sharing!
I will need to try this. I just made a great lasagna using Mission Carb Balance Wheat wraps. It was really good. I used 2 cut into lasagna like strips, one on each layer. It did reheat well….lasagna is always better after day 1. I used a 9 by 13 inch pan.
I like to use frozen grilled eggplant slices. You just have to microwave/defrost them. Not exactly like noodles but my Italian husband doesn't complain.
Linda p.p. I’ll try this. I wonder if you can make dumplings with the mission wraps?
You can make them with just two egg whites and 1 tablespoon of egg white protein powder. I can't get them in Canada. Also thanks for doing the meat chips. I've been wanting to do it.
April, do you have a recipe?
@@patriciabeetschen1329 whip the two egg whites to stiff peaks. Add the egg white protein powder and salt for taste. Preheat your oven for 325. Baking sheet with parchment paper on top. Smooth your egg white mixture as thin as possible and bake for about 5 minutes.I have all kinds of recipes on my Instagram account. You can find me at suit ur self health
@@aprilcoombs78 thanks for sharing
Thank you @April Coombs. I’m in Canada as well… Do you use carton egg whites or from a whole egg? Also where do you get your egg white powder from?
Steve, this is what I did with the south west flavor one. Heat a fry pan on medium high heat with no oil. Fry the wrap 30 -60 seconds on each side. It browns a bit and has a bit of a crunch and was great as a “soft taco “ wrap. This same cooking prep did not have the same result with the plain wrap…..only the southwest flavored one. Those were the only 2 kinds I found at Target.
I truly appreciate these review videos, along with the different ideas on using the products you review. Thank you! Such a helpful channel 👍🏻😊
I agree Rachel! I enjoy Steve's channel!
I gotta give it to you Steve, you are the most thorough creator! I thank you for your attention to detail. Thank you for taking that taste-test hit all the time! Excellent video.
? His Italian version was nothing like anything that is Italtian. Good review though.
I just used a plain one for pizza crust. It was actually pretty great. Not soggy. Like a thin chewy crust pizza. I’ll be doing that again. Thanks!!
I do that, too! Love it! I use Everything Bagel though and fresh tomatoes. So good!
@@modelsupplies I originally bought the plain ones, like a lot of them. I still have four packs frozen remaining. Once I’m through those I’ll be excited to try the other flavors. Happy to see you’re doing it too!
I bought the plain flavor at Costco. Used them to make strawberry cream cheese “crepes”. Lightly fried after filling them. They were a very tasty dessert.
Great ideal
They now have a sweet cinnamon flavor and they are great for a crepe.
What kind of oil?
Tried the Everything Bagel today. I'm hooked! Loved them . So glad I have something easy and simple to use for wraps!!! Thanks!
I've been using egglife for the last 3 months, my husband, my 3 boys and myself really enjoy it special when I make lasagna. I use the egglife as a replacement for the lasagna pasta😁 Its delicious and the best substitute I've found so far, kid approved as well😁
Oh and use low moisture cheese, ricotta cheese otherwise it gets too wet.
Gee maybe my husband can get lasagna after all! He misses it... me, not so much but I will make it for him!
What sauce do you use?
@@gotmymindwright Rao's is one of the best keto options unless you're like me and make homemade sauce.
I've started making my own "EggLife wraps" because I try to avoid using nut flours very often. Egg whites, egg white powder, xanthan gum, salt garlic powder and onion powder.
What amounts of each ingredient did you use? Thanks
@@darleneroach2848 I actually don't do them this way any more. I do Indigo Nilli's egg white tortillas with egg white powder and gelatin powder. She has a channel on here.
I used the plain wraps and made enchiladas and Italian style stuffed cannelloni and pizza they were all good 😃 Indigo Nili has a great dupe 2 ingredient recipe 👍🏻
Oh I was so glad to hear this I’m going to try to make enchiladas
Love the outtakes at the beginning :D
Like some other viewers, I ordered directly and was very happy with delivery. These freeze well which is good since I ordered quite a few. After I ordered them, I did find the plain variety in my grocery store, so I am not disappointed that I ordered direct because I wanted to try different flavors. I brought them on vacation and they were great with my tuna fish & cheddar. I don't think the price is bad. I know there is a recipe for these to make at home, but the convenience of buying is preferrable in this case.
I spray one side of the egg life wraps with avocado oil and sprinkle with garlic salt then lightly brown one side..Let it cool and then I cover w/ plastic wrap until ready to assemble my taco lunch. The texture is more like a tortilla but don’t reheat it in microwave or it will become chewy.
They’re $6.49 a package here. I can make a lot of your Microwave Tortillas for that. BTW, my husband got into making them with me, although he’s not keto, he likes them. We made twelve, froze six. The thawed tortillas work very well for any purpose. Thank you for the recipe ~
Congrats on being featured on and winning Highfalutin Low Carb tortillas battle.
Thanks! 😊
I've always found EggLife wraps to be a bit eggy to my taste, but a decent wrap mechanism (as you found). However, I'm a fan of your 90 second tortilla - not as a wrap, but used as a tostada-like base for pizza, eggs, or even a sandwich (make them smaller). I make them ahead, refrigerate, and toast them in the toaster oven to get a nice firm shell-like consistency.
I have made a quesadilla with them, and they got nice and crispy in just a thin layer of oil on med heat.
I used to use the rye for making Rubens. But my local Woodmans stopped stocking them. They were great. But I just use the plain and flavor it up. Also they all freeze great.
Good info
I found them recently in Aldi. You may want to try that if you have one close by.
I really want to find those.
@@midtownbrownstyle321 I think they have a store locator on their website. But I have seen them in Jewel, Wal-Mart, Woodmans, Mariano's (Kroger's). And I hear 👆Aldi's. Plus I think you can order them online. If Steve has a code use it. If not Neisha Berry's UA-cam channel had a code. Not sure if it works still. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your comment about freezing them. That was my question. Now I can order them in bulk and have them on hand all the time.
There is a rye flavor! It's basically the original with fennel. Really good with corn beef! I love these wraps! Awesome video! .. Thanks for sharing!
I made a enchilada bake with the southwest wraps that was really good. The key is to not roll them, layer it and dont overlap them. You need a lot of sauce so they can absorb and if they are doubled up are kind of thick and tough. I count total carbs so it is hard to get this low enough so that I can have it as often as I want. Thank you for reviewing these
Awesome tip. So more like a lasagna layer. I def want to try to make enchiladas!
Naw, sorry. It's a whole lot of effort to put on my clean matching socks and my shoes today. Mostly on account of I have no interest in washing a tiny load of only socks. But, now, if I can get them delivered in my groceries...
Thank you for this review! It's nice to know there are real options, not just a lettuce leaf.
Rye as a grain has very little flavor! It’s the caraway that we associate with the distinctive flavor of rye bread, so a little sprinkle of caraway, added to the sauerkraut perhaps, really does the trick!
I usually make my own rye bread, but that is a good idea for these.
My son works at a meat market and the carry a white cheddar with caraway seeds.
Gives me that rye bread flavor.
I too found these to be great “delivery” wraps. Ordered directly from the company. Fast and extremely high quality packaging.
Not yet in stores in my neck of the woods.
I am having a heckuva time finding them in my zip code, even though they’re supposed to be in stock, two different places. When you order direct from the company, how do they come? Are they shipped with dry ice, or just as is? Any problems at all?
@@gregshock Hi, mine were mailed with lots of ice packs in a heavily insulated box. No problems but it was much cooler weather when I ordered.
@@terryross4436: Thanks for replying Terry. I was wondering if they just sent these things off in a box, or with dry ice or something. They make these in Indiana, I see and I live in a Ohio, so maybe the trip won’t be too long.
I like the Egglife wraps because I am type 1 diabetic and "low carb" tortillas raise my blood sugar pretty significantly. I've even made pizzas with them and they turnout pretty good. I usually just get the Southwest flavor.
HAHAHA! loved the beginning..... thanks for the review! Seems that I'll be trying them!
Perfect for quesadillas! Stuffed them with pulled pork and cheese, fried them in my cast iron. Turned out awesome. Also, makes a great breakfast burrito, again pan seared. I know some people are using them in enchilada recipes, too.
I use them this way too
I use these all the time! I made chicken enchiladas out of the southwest ones...yum yum!!!!!!!!!!
I tried the lasagna recipe from the egg life web site and it was amazing! I also put several Southwest wraps in a 250* oven for a long time until they were lightly browned (turning a couple of times) and crispy. They worked great for my tostadas.
Good info
@@SeriousKeto I find the wraps at the Grocery Outlet for 1.99, Safeway carries them for a higher price
Great ideal ..
These make excellent enchiladas! I’ve made Keto Chicken Enchiladas and created my own Italian Enchiladas that are so freaking delicious!
By the way, I have made your ketchup several times now and it’s the best Keto Ketchup recipe I’ve tried. It reminds me of my favorite ketchup ever. Whataburger ketchup. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe because I really missed my favorite condiment.
Glad you’re liking it. 🙂
I maje your ketchup also! My husband dislikes ketchup but loves your recipe! As do my adult children
@@debbies8476 Awesome!
Thanks for the Egglife review, Steve. I love your videos! I have been buying these Egglife wraps since they showed up in the supermarkets. I haven’t been able to find the rye wraps either. I wanted to make Rubens so I mixed caraway seeds with softened butter and spread that on the wrap before adding the corned beef, etc. It tasted just like rye. You may want to put the caraway seeds in a mini coffee grinder or a spice and nut grinder. Add the ground seeds to your butter to taste. Hope this is helpful.
The rye flavored ones are pretty much just the regular ones plus caraway seeds, so you’re not missing anything. 😉
You really described everything very well. Thank you for this review. I had never heard of these until my daughter jist told me about it and I had to check it out and found your review. And you did such a thorough review. Not to mention your voice held my interest because you sound like the guy that announces the Twilight Zone lol
Okay going to go back and see which ones you said was good to make pinwheels.
Great review! Based on your taste taste, I’ll pick up the Italian and Everything Bagel wraps. Thanks!
I just watched a video from a year ago from Neisha Berry where she fried the Egglife wrap in bacon grease and filled it with cooked chicken. I tried the Everything Egglife wrap her way and it was fantastic.
You could fry up cardboard in bacon grease and fill it with chicken (and ideally cheese) and it would taste amazing. That said, I really like Neisha. 😉
Steve, thanks 🙏 so much for this review! I love these wraps. The are so versatile, and have so little impact on my total macros. In my opinion this is the biggest win in Keto products I have seen in a long time 🤩
Glad it was helpful!
I made tortilla chips in the oven and slow baked them. I buttered the egglife and added seasoning. It worked well!!!
I have used these. Purchased at Sprouts in Northern California. I really like them then I didn't.
Better if you toast on skillet. The eggy taste got to me. Thanks Steve Jennifer 😅
I love these. The only one I found so far is the plain, at Wal-Mart.
I buy one package every time I shop, because of always the possibility of "here today, gone tomorrow" !! 🤗🌹
I’ve only seen original and southwest in my local store. I definitely need to try the other flavors especially rye with egg salad or the Reuben components.
I LOVE THESE! Especially when I traveled they help keep me on track easily in the hotel room!!!
Thanks for the review Steve. A friend of mine in Mexico used them to make enchiladas and said they worked really well. Unfortunately they are not available here in Guam.
Another useful content! Thank you! I bought the round silicones for the homemade ones, so, (1) I only make what I need and I don’t spoil the store bought in between consumptions which I have done, then, (2) tend to overeat, so I don’t spoil them!
I really enjoy the plain and Italian (I think that's what it's called). I make Keto pizza with the Italian. I thought I would like the Southwest flavor better than I do. It's just okay to me. I have the Rye and Everything Bagel flavors, but haven't yet tried them. I've seen recipes to make a similar item at home, but I'm just not going to go to all that trouble. I cook most everything else, but nope, these are more convenient, and probably better than I could do.
My Aldi's recently started carrying these (I think 4.49 per package), and my ketovore family is really enjoying them! They have the plain, and the everything bagel flavors (those are great for breakfast egg wraps).
curious to why so many people say '' aldi's'' and not just aldi? people dont say walmarts or taco bells or targets or krogers
Thank you I just bought these in Aldi.
@@PhaseSkater people around my area say Krogers a lot.
@@dealerauctionnightmare4689 that’s weird too
You can make your own and flavor them however you want. Egg white powder, beef gelatin, water and spices. Use ghee as your oil on crepe pan when creating them. Awesome!
They make great fajitas! And Neisha Berry fries them whole then breaks them up as chips for her taco in a bowl
If you heat the southwest flavor in a pan, it improves the texture as far as using it as a tortilla. Very good
Thank you! I’ve been wondering about these! I feel like I can make a more informed, more cost effective decision of how well they’ll work for me.
Am I the only one who was tricked by his shirt 🤣🤣🤣
I recently discovered these and have been really enjoying them! (I had a breakfast burrito this morning, actually!) I mostly use the plain ones, since I usually heavily spice and flavor my fillings. For chips I occasionally eat these… “Quevos Keto Low Carb Egg White Chips” (Variety Pack) from Amazon. Their ingredients aren’t quite as clean, but they don’t raise my BG and that’s why I eat low carb. I like them a lot and they have great flavors.
Love the shirt! Hahaha! Thanks for reviewing, I’m tired of trying stuff and not liking it. I respect your reviews. Now if you could make a key popover…………..🥴
*keto*
Thank you for telling us about soybean oil. I had no idea 🤷🏼♀️. What an eye opener.
I fry the original in lard, poking bubbles with a fork until they are slightly brown like a tortilla. At that point they take on the flavor of the lard and have a crispy but soft texture great for tacos! Careful not to over cook them, like you said they will taste eggy.
Sounds great!
Love the shirt! Lol. I have only tried the original and the everything bagel but I LOVE them! I would almost eat all my meals wrap style just for convenience and these make it quick and easy! Thank you for all you do for the keto community ❤
I use the rye for a Ruben, it has great flavor. When we make sandwiches, etc. we load one side and fold to eat it like a taco. The wrap is not quite big enough for a sandwich when rolled, but having two is too much. I find they keep their "stuffing" better when eaten like a taco. This video was hard to watch, I kept wanting to "click" on your shirt. Not that I thought you were an ad, but my brain is trained to click on that Skip Ads button. Love your videos, keep up the good work.
Great job Steve!😀👍 Thanks! 💜🙏✌🎶🌞
Love all of these, quick easy with some crisping / browning in a pan and surprised you didn't try them that way .. but I've seen lots of videos on how to make these at home so when I run out of the egglife that is what I will try.
YOUR VIDS ROCK!! Thanks for all your experimenting and trouble shooting for us!
That was very helpful. I mostly stay away from fake-bread products, but sometimes I really do need the portability of a sandwich. I'm definitely going to pick these up.
Excellent Review. Thank you kindly for taking us through your Egglife Eggwhite Wrap Journey. I thoroughly enjoyed the review and am giving you a very big Thumbs up 👍
I used these for burritos. I threw it in a pan & heated them for a minute like I would a flour tortilla. It made it better.
Steve, thank you for this review. God, Bless you.
Do you know those noodles that you made from the Asian keto food UA-camr? So here’s a question for you what about making these egg life by pouring it little thinner batter in that alginate water just make a flat one the size of a corn tortilla and then when the bottom congeals you can push it down a little bit to conceal the top and lay it on paper what about that?
I have a behind the scenes look at that process as a perk for my channel members. The texture comes out like jellyfish.
i love your content. can you read me my news. your voice dude
These work fantastic in Keto chicken noodle soup. I used the plain ones, cut in strips and they made a great noodle substitute.
Good info. Thanks.
I fried the everything one in butter, and made a lobsta roll with butter mayo out of it. DELICIOUS!!! This is coming from a New England girl, who grew up on the seacoast eating Maine lobster, and I am a purist when it comes to lobster!! I have it straight up with butter or in a lobster roll with mayo nothing else steamed in water only, and I’ll tell ya what, it passed the test!!! 😋
Yum

Great review, I use them for wrap a lot but never thought of cooking them. I like the cheese wraps for tacos
'tactical application'... that made me LOL. Great video. I do so appreciate the taste testing!!
I just put impossible burger and guacamole in these. I love it
They make a pretty good quesadilla. Also decent fried in bacon grease with a taco salad.
Maria Emmerich uses the plain ones cut into thin strips for noodles! Guess I'll have to try them now...
I love them! Tacos, fajitas, and quesadillas so far plus using them as crepes. So glad I found them!!
Great video. Thanks for the frying and dehydrating attempts so now I don’t have to! 😊. I just discovered the egg life wraps recently, and was just able to find them at our local sprouts grocery store. It allowed me to have a cheeseburger last night wrapped in the original flavor. It was wonderful!
I found the plain ones on the top shelf of the egg section at my local Ralph's - didn't know they made flavored ones. But I noticed they are getting popular now and hopefully they will add the others too. For me, cooking them (apart from a quick microwave) has not done much for them IMHO.
Loved this one. You had me at the outtakes at the outset. ;)
I don't mind them, the bottom one usually get's a little "slimy" sometimes. Also yes, the texture can sometime be a bit "rubbery" maybe?
I put a paper towel between them if I'm not hogging them down right away & that helps with the 'sweat'... some towels may stick to them but mine worked.
@@PinkLady54 Ooh, I'll try that! lol, *hogging them down*.
@@andrewthielmann5342 hahaha sounds like a great plan!! I'm headed to Safeway now to pick some up. gobble gobble ;-)
@@PinkLady54 Yep! I open all packages immediately and add paper towels. They last forever that way and no slime or mildew!

These are the best Keto tortilla I've tried.
I’m laughing out loud here! When you tasted the fried wrap “chip,” your face was great - and you said it tasted like an over cooked egg white. That grossed me out a bit. Thank you for the laugh! (And for this super review video!)
The rye is really good. Used it for rueben wraps just last week.
I love the bloopers!
I need to make a big blooper reel. Believe me, there’s no shortage.
@@SeriousKeto 🤣🤣 do! I'm a big nerd for behind-the-scenes footage!
@@SeriousKeto we have been asking for bloopers for a long time now lol please do!!
Woah, you could make some enchiladas with those!! Glad you didn't lose power during the review.
I love these. I often cut into thin strips, dry fry in a hot skillet and use as pasta. The texture holds up with chicken and Alfredo sauces. I also make scrambled egg wraps with these. I’m glad I have these available.
I need to try the pasta idea.
I have all of these in my refrigerator and was wondering what to do with them. I guess they are just going to be the delivery method for meat and cheese. Thanks for doing the testing!
I really like them. Butter in my cast iron skillet and a little seasoning fry them up... Perfect for tacos, lasgnana, sandwich wraps etc.
Right! Love to use it as lasagna noodles
Yes, I do the same!🤗🌹
@@debbieb4668 Great 👍🏻 idea, hadn’t thought of that one yet 🤩
From their website, the only one you didn't evaluate is the Cinnamon version. i could not find a rye version on their website. Thank you for doing all the hard work! It REALLY makes a difference when I am shopping on a budget!
I wonder if they discontinued the rye version then, as I have a packet in my freezer. I’ve not seen the cinnamon flavor.
Great review.
Love that you tested them so many different ways.
Woah i just got these for the first time yesterday! Perfect timing :)
I use Everything Bagel for just about everything - (bagel) lol SO GREAT~! I've lost almost 100 lbs so far. I've traded out all bread, buns or wraps for these. I make chicken wraps, hamburgers, etc. Today, I had 2 soft grass fed beef tacos with pico de gallo for Cinco de Mayo today~!! If you slice them like a pie, then nuke for 30-60 seconds, they make pretty good chips. I brushed with olive oil lightly
I like them! Affordable at Wal-Mart. If you watch Keto Dr. Ken Berry's wife @ NeishaLovesIt...she shows how she heats her's up in a pan and how to make your own, but I prefer the ready to eat product.
I would probably like them fried. When I was a little kiddo my great aunt would cook a "deep fried" egg using butter (I'm from the south), yeah it was delicious. Thank you so much for this review. You help me greatly. :)
Fried eggs with the crispy buttery edges? Yep, I love those! (No so far south as I'm from Virginia.)
@@tenerifecats6652 🤤 Mmmm crispy butter edges!
LOL I love the bloopers!
Rain? What is rain? #iowaisreallydry!!! Thanks for this video. My Hy-Vee started carrying these over Crepini wraps, which I loved, and I was worried that these would be eggy and rubbery. I will give them a try :)
First of all, love your shirt! Second, so glad you reviewed this, I had them and they were ok taste non existent…not great enough for me to justify the cost. Would rather make your 90 second tortilla. Thirdly, do your tortillas make decent chips? Haven’t tried the recipe yet but planning on it soon, saw the great review by high falutin and am anxious to try.
My carnivore tortilla recipe makes good chips. The 90 second tortilla, not so much.
I cut the wraps into triangles and lightly coat with avocado oil and airfry them for chips
Reviews are your best event! Well done!
dang. was hoping southwest one would be spicy
Thunder and rain ! Upping your background noise ! Loved the video. Willl have to try if Infind local. Thanks.
This exceeded my expectations for a review. Trying these in so many different applications was impressive! Thank you for making this! Trying to decide if these are worth a purchase, and this video really helped!
I also tried to bake them in the oven to make tortillas chips to eat at a Mexican restaurant. We were going out as a family and I wanted to try their queso . The egglife wrappers did crisp up and they didn’t taste overly eggy like yours did, but they became weirdly chewy and almost impossible to chew away. Not a win in my book, unfortunately. Thankfully I had an alternate prepared and brought that to the restaurant. Queso was amazing with them too. I LOVE the egglife wrapper, but only as you said, as a wrap. I do cut up the southwest wrapper and use it in my taco salad or taco bowl. Rye are amazing for Reubens too. ❤️
The price of these is ridiculous.
I have no problem paying a bit more for food, to be on the keto diet. It's just something that goes with the territory, and I accept that.
However, just on principle, I refuse to pay $7.00 for a few paper thin microwaved egg whites.
