Pro tip: if you have xtra empty pallets, and have a gap in between your load. You can use the empty pallets flip them side ways put them in between the gap. And use them as load stabilizer so your load won't move or shift.
Thats a great idea, I never thought of that! You know what else would help? How about a pallet jack that is easier to use, that uses a joystick instead, that handle contraption is absolutely useless in tight spaces.
Always amazing how PEPE's employees work together so well. I found this interesting, try something which doesn't work, try something else and it works. Good job guys and thanks to Josh.
Thank you! We def are an odd bunch in how we function together. My dad and I might be the bosses but it doesn't feel that way. We all hang out and are equals and carry that over when we work together
Good job Alex. You explained the issues very well. He actually loaded that box truck knowing the spring was broke? Jeez! I wonder why the side of the road has such a steep grade making any truck foolish enough to load there a teeter-totter?
Buenas noches, Alex , un buen video , y un gran trabajo, todo lo tienes bien pensado, tu compañero también hizo una buena labor, saludos.❤👍👏🖐️💪🇪🇦.Jesús.
He might be driving NON-CDL, so that explains his lack of pallet jack ability. Having said that, I gotta say that long handle is absolutely useless within tight spaces. I think those things would be far easier to use, using a joystick control instead.
Some persons just never get the mechanics of using a pallet jack.(and keep them away from a forklift) Some after 15 minutes , some take many hours (Some, never). (length of handle of pallet jack used here , is not a factor)
Not sure I understood why you felt the need to offset the hook height on the frame rails. Once you lift the chassis, the broken spring is take completely out of the equation and the load will be balanced between the lift hooks and the front suspension. It may have looked off while still parked just due to the crown of the road, but shouldn't have been an issue. If nothing else, I think I would have put a binder on the suspension (both sides) so that the rear axle didn't drag due to the broken spring. Moving to the front after blocking the rear axle made sense though, because of the load weight to stabilize the tow.
Yeah, what he said. Why worry about the spring or the unbalanced load if you are lifting with the wrecker from the rear of the frame (or does the wrecker lift rotate horizontally?)?
Our truckies in our country are taught this in Driving Schools Class 5 you need to find a firm (trucking) firm for the last class which (5) Driving schools don't do that thanks for this Alex interesting lesson for all. Cheers our police would ping the driver & the firm be ordered off the road until fixed.
You know he’s overloading the truck. The spring in the passenger side rear has recently been replaced. They probably load it to the max and it bottoms out then the tires rub on the box. It’s a way for a company to use 26k GVW trucks and not have to pay for the 35K GVW weight fee charged by the state. Also doesn’t require their drivers to have a CDL.
Is it possible this drive already knew the leaf spring on the driver side was broken and so compensated by placing the load on the passenger side hoping to be able to operate the truck still? He could practice a bit more on that pallet mover too. That was entertaining!
Those are 3/8" G7 chains with a Working Load Limit of 6,600 lbs. Both add up to 13,200 lbs. The front axle on that bobtail is approximately 9,000 lbs. California law requires that tow truck safety chains must be able to secure 150% of the towed vehicle's weight. This is a 26,000 lbs. vehicle and 1.5 times the weight is 39,000 lbs. Each chain's Breaking Strength is 4 times the WLL which is 26,400 lbs. Two chains add up to 52,800 lbs. , which is 13,800 over the 150% of the towed bobtail. Using a chain's breaking strength is only allowed by law on safety chain application in California. Hope I got this right. Lol !
❤❤❤❤as a retired box truck driver i have never had that sort of thing happen before. That's why I always strapped the load down to prevent that from happening. Good job guys.
Sure, we have trucks with lift gates. Not all trucks have them here just as not all trucks in the UK and EU have them. Those that are intended to load from the ground have them. Those that are intended to load from docks often don’t. If you are having a carrier pick up and deliver a shipment, you must specify if the pick up and delivery sites have docks so the right truck is used.
@@matthewgaines10 A taillift can be used in a dock quite easily. Those box trucks should all be fitted with tie down points to prevent the loads from shifting.
I had a load of Cat Engines on ny semi trailer. We went all the way the from Pick Up in MN to the drop yard in SC. NEVER in 22 yrs had a load shift. I heard a loud thud but didnt know what it was till i dropped the trailer and it was leaning to the right. I hurry and hooked back up to that bad baby and stayed attached. Company sent a wrecker service oit who said they could NOT do anything. So my company had me drive 50 miles at 40MPH to the yard so their shop could unload and reload and BLOCK each engine!
Maybe I'm an old cynic but it feels like they used the truck knowing it had a broken spring, and loaded everything right to avoid that. Hmm. Otherwise why tie the empty pallets and not the heavy stuff? Though those you rescue do often rely on friction (and prayer) a lot.
Ohhhh shift! Talk about rocking your load with a broken leaf spring on a drainage grade. Points at broken leaf spring and I say, "Well there's your problem." He gonna need more then a tow, he gonna need a truck repair.
When the guy was sitting on the back of his truck He was trying to ask Alex If he could just toe the truck Over to the warehouse He didn't understand that you cannot choe a truck fully loaded
It appears that there are plenty of "Steering Wheel Attendants" in the States as well. Piss poor drivers like this are giving the transport industry worldwide a big pain in the ass.

Great job as always Alex.
Ya, I know!
You are the ones who have the technology and knowledge to save the day.
It bugs me that he left those pallets on the side of the road. Great content, great work by Pepe's !!
Good Ream work with both wrecker drivers to get the truck level enough to tow!
You really know your stuff I’m very impressed with Pepe’s towing
Wow! Just wow! That was quite an ordeal but you guys handled it just like pro's😀
Next time you might suggest changing the airbags up love your videos be safe and have a great day Sam
Every inch of that truck stores something useful. Great Planning.

Boy, I hope he drives the truck better than that forklift😢
Obviously not, more than likely he was driving to fast for corners, and shifted the load, seems very inexperienced

Just back up another truck and transfer the load with the lift truck already there.
Go Go Gadget Alex ! 🤓🙋♂️👍❤
Nice job well done guys say hello to papi chulo 🌹 JOE ❤️ you guys are awesome 💯💯💯💯
Reasonably surprised those pallets managed to stay sitting on that curb the whole time you were there.
Something fishy here. Broken left spring with the whole load on the right? Maybe someone knew that spring was broken before they loaded it?
BE CAREFUL WITH THAT PROTECTED TREE BRO!!!!!!!! YOU CAN GET FINES OF 10s of thousands of dollars!!😂

OR: The spring just snapped. (don't overthink it )
@@hj8607no the original poster is correct. They are using this truck to haul loads it’s not rated to haul.
You’d be surprised how many companies do that i know one personally
Just casually walks away from the truck, leaving it running and unlocked. Amazed someone doesn't try to steal it.
If they would just listen to Alex, life would be better.

Go alex 😮
Alex is the man with the plan lol
Sherwood Park wind just stared, nothing nasty yet.
Wonder how long the pallets stayed there until someone picked them up

Every time Alex said “grade” I said “camber”. Great fun.
Cheaper to call road service and change the leaf spring on the spot
Sho is
Not with the load still in back.
As a 45 year truck mechanic finding trucks driving around with broken springs is common since it does not get inspected very often.
saw this in 70's tractor trailer had a left turn on a downhill in an industrial park company had ads for loading crew the next day
Those safety chains look so tiny to what we are used to with Hulk and Big Flipper.

awesome
Sucks he didn't have a lift gate that would've made everything a whole heck of a lot easier to unload.
Why would he unload in the street? He’s taking the truck AND load to his warehouse.
Should've put the pallets back in 😢
They left them for the homeless
The homeless will make good use of them, and appreciate the gift.
? You guys drop the driveline on those hinos?
So he loaded on one side knowing the other side was broken 😕 Now it's on a street leaning it became too much 😮
@Hitlo-fd2gy With the 5+ times you've repeated this, you'd think you'd have realized he isn't driving an articulated truck.
The spring was broke do he loaded it to the other side but moved too much
how come you did not drop the driveshaft he left the pallets on the sidewalk for the city to pick up wow
For the homeless people, they would of been gone within an hour.
No disconnect of the drive shaft?
Manual transmission, short trip?
Don't your delivery trucks have tail lifts like here in UK/ireland. Then can use use the pallet truck to unload
Depends on the truck model. Some box trucks have them, others do not.
If they are only hauling between loading docks, no need for a lift.
Yes, but looks like that company was to cheap to get 1

Mine was probably because I did a flip around in the drop yard
Ever considered getting Police to help close the sidewalk in these scenarios? Just in case it goes over?
Those pallets are 3t04 dollars here in ohio each
That little forklift is heavy lol
1,500 lbs.
Hope the homeless come get the pallets before Johnny Law stops by to give you $500 fine !
have you seen downtown Los Angeles?
That was lame not throwing the pallets back in the truck. I don't care where you're at, it's illegal dumping.

hahah total shitshow on this one
