j'adore ce film et les costumes sont vraiment très bien fait. superbe le XVIII ,ma passion. magnifique style et l'art de vivre à la Française de cette époque .
I can't stand the fact Glenn Close was robbed that year in the Academy Awards. She should have won at least two Oscar, one for this role in Dangerous Liaisons and the other in the previous year for Fatal Attraction. How can the Academy be so unfair and do silly acts like ignoring Glenn Close, in my opinion, the best living actress in the world.
Sadly the Academy Awards have been a popularity & financial trophy for decades. I've lost all interest in Hollywood show business award show's. Another highly annoying aspect of Hollywood award show's vapid virtue signaling from "celebrities" who are as transparent as cheap plastic. Millionaire narcissists attacking business & political narcissists....Oh what fun.
You are absolutely right! Its a farce. She is a powerful female actress with an unbelievable range of acting. No award. Hollywood needs to be smacked in the face for that. Paul Newman - 10 nominations, but 1 award. He was so disgusted with them that he never showed up. Marlon Brando - 8 nominations, but 2 awards only. One of the greatest actors. Glenn Close - 8 nominations, 0 awards. Hollywood has disgraced itself!
Isabelle de Merteuil ? Where did you find this name ? In Choderlos de Laclos's book, it's just Marquise de Merteuil. She has no name. However, it's a very beautiful video. Thank you !
The costumes are beautiful, but only the rich and nobility could afford such elegant costumes.Madame de Tourvel from the French Borgouise also wears some fine clothes ,but not so elegant like those of the nobility.
I'm sorry, but I really don't know. I had all my music and videos stored on an external disk that recently crashed and I lost everything, including this video, all images in it, and the music, so I really don´t knoiw-. I'm sorry.
I bought this movie on dvd at wal mart in a bin of movies for 5 dollars and it also had the painted veil, the affair of the diamond necklace, and silk..i would have paid more then 5 dollars just for dangerous liasons..i was obsessed with french history when i was a kid and watched this movie when i was like 11 and followed the story and wanted to read the book but i dont speak french so i couldnt... Most likely if ypu watch this movie you will have a lot of questions about why things were done certain ways and you will end up researching this period on your own..and you will find some fascinating history.
The costumes in this film were amazingly accurate, like they just walked out of the museum.
The yellow traveling dress is my favorite. What elegance!
It looks so 40s though
Where do you think Christian Dior received his inspiration for The New Look?

Ce film est d'un raffinement extrême ! !!!
Wonderful! The pics are very beautiful. The Soundtrack fits perfectly in the video. Nice job!
This costume collection belongs in a museum where it will be well cared for by experts.
James Acheson is the MAN!!!!! So deserved the Oscar he won for this!!!!

Agreed
Very nice costumes.James Acheson is a giftig fashion designer.
Fabulous. What happens to these clothes ?
My fave movie of all time, bar none.
With the yellow traveling gown you see where Dior got the "New Look" 200 years later.
Of all of the gowns it's my favorite.
✌️✌️✌️👍👍👍
J'ai lu ce roman a l'age de douze ans grace a ma grand-mere. Cela ne contient aucun mot vulgaire, c'est un vrai chef d'oeuvre.

I have also heard her first name called isabelle before and also am not sure where it comes from..what source material.
I don't normally like videos like these, but this one is outstanding!
I love this movie....
The costume budget must have been enormous.
LaBartoliLover--I'm also besotted with Bartoli. Thank you for your 1+.
palavaes, thank you.
The jewels were real borrowed for film
Beautiful costumes
Un applauso agli sceneggiatori e i costumisti .
Bildschoene Kostueme.
@country612002 it's Vivaldi Four Seasons. Spring I believe...
@JessKoeh88 i think thats the first song.
Pretty adaption 😊
the name of the song is qui sedes
The costumes must have been tight

the first song is vivaldi's spring and the second one is...idk.
I wonder how long it took them to get dress back then?
Lucky Mark it could take several hours. especially the nobility they had dressing ceremonies
DRESSED, not DRESS.

@destinytears Qui Sedes - Antonio Vivaldi
i would love to see this movie without down loading anything..... but thats not gonna happen

@@annasloan2349 I read the book in a wonderful modern translation. It takes the form of letters between the characters,
the white robe ..... the costume that Madonna wore at the 1990 MTV video music awards
@heliotrope34 3 hours, is a long time. It seems like it was a mission to get these blue blooded women into their fancy dresses.
Still the best part of this video is Vivaldi's music.
Surprisingly, it's part of a Vivaldi mass.
