Ever since Mazda split with Ford and became fully independent, Mazda seems to be getting better and better.
Ford = Hell
Toyota = Heaven
The same with jaguar after Ford sold to India company its make it 1000% better
IshouI ;_; Lol, i was just about to make the same comment
@@ronaldkregar7139 the funny things when TATA bought jaguar insulting Ford and make jaguar successful again 😆
@@ishoui_6519 wait.. Tata motors is in record loss because of Jaguar and Land Rover not selling.
The interior of the Mazda looks more luxurious than some of bmw interiors
Literally
Ahmad Abu Sneineh looks maybe but it’s def not probably ya know
@@chocolatewheelchair It most def is though; go look at an X1 interior, then sit in that Mazda 3... it is night and day win for the Mazda, not even close; the new 3 is on par with Audi easily, maybe above in some areas
You clearly haven't owned a BMW. #hater
Lol all i know I won't be seeing the dealer very often after buying the Mazda .. however I maybe on towards building a relationship with my BMW dealer when I go there once every month for repairs
@@danitimnev2102 yea. No. I'm not seeing that. From pictures alone, the X1 shits on the Mazda 3, as it should. My question is, why do non bmw owners keep bmw on their lips... Hmm hate much? Methinks so. 👌
Even in Korea the Elantra's sales numbers have dropped thanks to that shitty front.
YH KIM yeah they messed up
LMAO. It's VERY ugly. Ruined a good car.
Not surprised. Hopefully it's re-designed again for 2020. It seems as though one generation is really bold and the next is muted... Then REALLY bold.... Well.. I'm sure you get the point lol.
I literally made a funny face trying to imitate that front, it's just hideous! The old one was so good looking. Lexus LS400 treatment! If it's not broken, don't fix it!! Keep it for years!
I dont even like the rear. Seeing the afterthought backup camera so visible is not great . But the front is the worst, so ugly. I really like the 2018 Elantra much better.
In my opinion, Mazda has been way underrated.
Just got a Mazda and I overwhelmed. I wouldnt have even considered Mazda 5-10 years ago.
It's really nice though for real. I tried driving the Mazda3 yesterday cause of the new awd, and the interior was gorgeous. The steering was tight but nice, and even though it sat a bit lower than I'd like, it was a nice ride overall. Much better than the Subaru Impreza I had test driven just an hour before. The hatch has bad visibility, not gonna lie about that, but I think it is a great car.
@@victorl5402 I have a Mazda 3 2019 gs luxury sedan AWD love them so muh verry nice ride everyday
people say the mazdas are underpowered though. but i would agree if they didnt all look the same.
There’s this stigma that Mazdas are unreliable because they had a partnership with ford back in the day
I don’t usually feel that a cars “luxuriousness” shows well in video but man that Mazda interior looks rich and gorgeous.
JeremyTD it really hits you when you actually step inside one, I went to check out one and it was immediately like holy shit this is nice. But when I went to show some coworkers the interior it felt like pictures just couldn’t do it justice lol
Probably looks better in real life, good interiors usually do.
It's actually crazy how much better the Mazda looks. Totally agree that the Elantra looks like a Voltorb 🤣
...I appreciate them for increasing my knowledge (literally 100%) of Pokemon. I now know two names of the characters.
The design of the Elantra is in another level.... and it stands out. Mazda on the other hand looks "normal" boring car but the Elantra.... oh wow
@@rockefelleragent1357 my neighbour had an elantra by her and i laugh at it. The back is big, ugly and outtershape. The 2016 before this facelift is better
@2WIREG lol
@@MrPicky400 why you laugh at it... did she not get offended? You are a rude person.
Mazda 3 looks like it's in a different class compared to that hyundai . Cant even compare them anymore imo.
True but both brands are trying to push itself up and offering good value for the money. Elantra is not a bad car. Would you expect anything like "stinger" from kia? I think it is time to get rid of all prejudices. The chinese are coming into the business and everybody has to move up. They will move up or get crushed.
Yeah I definitely dont see it that way. I absolutely hate the interior of the Mazda 3. Especially compared to the elantra. Mazda looks classy but definitely very difficult to operate and very small screen with a freakin iPad sticking out the dash. Looks horrible.
Difference of tastes. I don't like the Mazda 3. 🤷
Mazda LOOKS better, but the engineering is awful. Google wind noise and road noise. Also android auto doesn't allow touchscreen use.
You're right. Especially in price. Elantra sport would've been a better comparison and still come out cheaper.
That Mazda interior is a work of art... just stunning
Mazda is WINNING. It even looks better than some luxury brands.
Floyd Dellon yeah ok calm down there buddy. Not sure what luxury vehicles you’ve seen lately. But Mazda is not even close to being one or looking better then one.
@@bacvain any Lexus with those horrible front ends. Have you even seen them lately. What the hell were they thinking?
In Europe all magazine consider the new Mazda 3 premium and compare it to Audi A3 or Bmw series 1.... btw I'm happy European brands are overrated in USA, so we can sold to you our cars overpriced and make money
Agree this looks much nicer than the Acura Tlx, Ilx. & The interior looks much classier than the Audi a3.
Stefano Voglino yea bud, I’m sure you’re getting rich off it.
Mazda are getting it right in so many ways. I looked at Toyota and just can't handle their styling. Mazda is doing wonderful interiors now - punching above the price level.
Really looking forward to seeing how the new Active X engine is going to behave.
I've driven Audis for years but as their prices go up, their options becoming far too expensive and numerous - (ie) you have to spend a fortune to get the car feeling it is well equipped. So Mazda may well be on my car shopping list and my partner's list too.
I feel you. I am the current Audi owner, and Im looking forward to get a Mazda as a commute car too.
I legitmately don't think the Audi A3 is worth the increased price versus a top-trim Mazda3. Sure, you get a bit more, but not an extra $10-15K worth.
This mazda3 interior, the upcoming sky-X engine, and the philosophy of making a mazda, guess how perfect the next miata is going to be.
Don’t even get started on Toyota. There cars are awful. Interior, exterior its all terrible. Recommend Mazda over Toyota any day. Even with used cars.
Yeah I hate what they did with Toyota's headlights
Previous gen Mazda 3 was amazing. This one is next level.
Mazda does it again. The new 3 looks so good.
i just bought a 2018 mazda, although its still made 2019. what can i say its everything plus more than i thought. It's one of those cars you just wake up and go look at outside for no reason at all.
Master Pack i know what you mean. I have an ‘18 Miata, and I sometimes just stop and look at it before I walk into the house. It’s just that gorgeous.
Lol
Just got mine on July 2020. Same reaction
@@juanp2k3 i got my mazda 3 hatch white and black interior and your right sometimes i walk to my car asnd bam i would stop it just takes my breath away i never had a car so comfortable so fast and so nice looking.. and for a damn good price seriosly my freaking mazda 3 was brand new off the showroom floow for literally only 21,000 this is way cheaper then the honda civic i bought with the cvt grabage transmission wrich by the way died on me after i hit around 42k miles and it cost me more then a 1 grand to fix and it just didnt run right ran like garbage it was incredibly loud . very slow , unbelievably sluggish ,.. the transmission is utter trash i reccomend people do the research before u buy ur car and do not get cvt u will regret it
Just bought and had a test-drive with the new mazda 3 hatchback two days ago, it's an amazing car and the exterior as well as the interior looks soooo good in real.
The opening was amazing. Great video.
Lol the intro had me rolling lol
There is nothing you can trust in a man who wears socks with his sandals.
The only blog i have come across which talks about steering design bless you guys
One of my favorite opening skits by far! That poor Elantra never stood a chance with how much Mazda brought to the table with this generation. Now all we need is a new Mazdaspeed!
Don't bet the farm on that, Nick. Mazda has consistently denied any plan to build a Mazdaspeed 3.
@@stephenhendricks103 Much to everyone's disappointment I agree. You won't catch me holding my breath for it, but I can still dream.
Domanic S probably get a Signature version of it at some point.
I work for mazda sales and rumors of a turbo 6spd mazda 3 is coming. Not labeled speed becuase mazda now breaching luxury are trying to dissociate with it being a Kiddish name
People (myself included) keep saying the car/sedan is dead and crossovers are king, but 2019 is quickly shaping up to be the year of the small car. New entries like this Mazda3, Kia Forte, & VW Jetta, along with facelifts like this Elantra are keeping sedans relevant in this world of SUV-like vehicles.
Well, designers are really pulling out all the stops to earn their market share in a dwindling segment. Same thing has been happening to midsize sedans, and the segment is MASSIVELY benefitting from it.
I test drove the recent Gen Mazda 3 6 speed manual and I loved it! I then drove my friends auto version of the same car and loved it too! This new Gen looks stunning. Mazda has been killing it with their designs. Always been a fan of Mazda, and I will continue to be!
I have a 2016 Mazda3 hatch, my previous car was a bland 2006 Ford SUV so I am absolutely in love with this sporty little red rocket. My next car will certainly be another new Mazda3 hatch.
@@mrheyfuckoff1 Its always good to hear from an owners perspective. If I don't buy another Holden I will be getting a Mazda3 or even a Mazda6 as my next car!
@@project_calais4977 Well lets be honest, Holden really doesn't have anything worth buying these days. Fleet sales is all they're really good for
@@mrheyfuckoff1 Thats true, but if I were to buy another it would be a VE or VF. Nothing in their current lineup is of interest buying new.
@@project_calais4977 Holden is just a rebadge company now
I like how this channel is so Canadian, we barely ever get recognized lol :)
One of the best comparisons I have seen! Funny, educational and more importantly, engaging! I have a 2017 Mazda 3 hatch and love it. This new generation is unbelievable and is definitely top of the class. Maybe calling it seductive is not so far fetched :)
I don’t get that Elantra front end even the rear tail lights looks more like the designers were playing with pikachu
Agree. Previous gen looks wayyy better
Previous elantra was gorgeous. The new one is looking like a cheap piece of plastic.
@@MercilessMrBrooks also Mazda 3 old it's to cheap, and new look expensive
The things I would do for for a new generation SPEED3 especially now that awd is in the picture.
Great review guys. You guys make really well-done videos with plenty of hard knowledge but with a good dose of humour too. Looking forward to picking up my 2019 Mazda3 in a few days!
Awesome! Which spec did you go for?
@@jamesengelsman9369 The identical one that you drove (GT FWD sedan) in Soul Red Crystal with the white interior.
@@Varekai0723 Excellent. That's the colour to get. Caution, if the paint is as thin as it is on the Miatas, definitely protect it with something like xpel or PPF from day one!
You guys are brilliant! the opening of this video was one of my favorite.
I love Mazda but I feel like not enough people know about the brand. Sure, the average enthusiast knows about their legendary history but Mazda should push for better marketing efforts, I mean they already have the most important part after all: amazing product(s).
whatEver ‘Legendary’ is pushing it a bit here. Sure, they have the storied rx7 and Miata, but that’s it. Just about every manufacturer in existence has had at least 2-3 times as many legendary sports cars (except Hyundai and Kia, which are new to the performance game).
Nowadays their performance ‘pedigree’ boils down to tight handling and a nice 6 speed manual. Both of which they got rid of this gen. Seriously, torsion beam? Fucking really????
Ask your father about Mazda, our read about the Japaneses car golden years
@@NashKetchum I'd say Mazda is one of thee most creative manufacturers to this day. There were prestiged in the raceworld with the 767b in the 90's, and in todays day and age they are one of the only, if not the only to say they aren't ditching gasoline motors in the next decade, they believe they can make them just as economical. They push the competition always, like this year making the Mazda3 AWD is truely 1 up on other sedans even some luxury brands. They may not be legendary status yet but 20 years this path they will be.
Jake AWD is a desperate gimmick imo. There are very few instances where AWD is noticeably better than FWD with equivalent tires.
All AWD does is add an expensive and complicated drivetrain to an unreliable brand, with a platform based on the old Ford Focus.
As far as this whole electric craze, it’s just for show and publicity. 99.78% sold in the US are gasoline, doesn’t look like anyone is walking away from that anytime soon.
@@NashKetchum I see your point for everyday driving, AWD is rather pointless. Unless you live in Canada or Northern states, AWD is a blessing for winter here. Also getting to the cottage in the summer on half grown over muddy roads makes AWD a blast compared to fWD :)
Mazda 3 AWD hatch vs Impreza hatch would be a nice comparison to see ;)
P.S. This 4th gen of Mazda 3 is stunning, planning to get one for myself soon.
Illia K what trim level?
@@whatevernevermind5960 Well, I would love to have that GT (top) trim hatch, with AWD, skyactive X, and manual, but there is no manual option for AWD with their G version, so I doubt that there will be one for X. Therefore, I'll have to go either with GT AWD Auto, or GS (mid) trim manual FWD.
P.S. Yeah I know I don't need that AWD 99% of the time and I will get worth gas mileage because of it . Tho I still want it, just for the sake of it.
You should never compare a cvt to a geared transmission. Cvt's are always $hit and designed for profit and early retirement. Probably the better comparison considering Honda and Nissan have all sold out, utilizing cvt's on nearly their entire lineup.
@@denttech2515 why so mad? I've mentioned impreza coz it's the only car that curretly sold with AWD in this segment.
@@EleisonUA sorry if it came across like that. I'm not mad. Just bothered by this throwaway society. Cvts simply are not built to last. When they go they're expensive to fix. Usually the car becomes a junkyard ornament. Then they expect you to repurchase another one. Not to mention they are sluggish and cheap while they are in service. I just strongly dislike this unsustainable society we live in. Everything is for profit. Being that I work in the auto business, I see many parts designed to wear out or break. Cvts are a strong example of that. For the record, If I had to buy a cvt, which I wouldn't, it would be a Toyota or subaru
You guys keep nailing it! Impressive.
Great video as always. Good to see the subs climbing. You guys deserve it.
Thanks Johnny!
Gotta agree with Thomas, the designers really messed up with the refresh look of the Elantra. I don't know how that design was considered an improvement over the last generation, or passed. It's great value for the safety features you get at the price point, just wish they had kept the old exterior styling, or at least less aggressive headlights.
I saw the unveiling; they were proud of how many millions they had spent on the redesign.
All wasted, in my opinion.
Dudes you deserve more subs keep doing your thing you'll get there.
I need more reviews as me and my family own a car rental business and seeing reviews like these helps us make decisions funny enough. 😂
can't believe that you guys aren't up to 500K subscribers yet. best reviews on youtube.
Don’t worry! We are just getting started.

Junk that Cruz. Lmao
Korey Mayo LoL my friend bought a Cruze and it was a 🍋 LEMON

Awesome channel! You guys are great at this and funny !
You guys are really hitting your stride. Great work!
Thanks Lars!
This makes me feel happy to be a Mazda owner. I drive a 2017 Mazda3 manual. If only this new 3 had a manual.
It will eventually. They didn't immediately heve the manual in high trims when they released the previous gen for the 2014 model year. Still won't be able to get manual AWD though.
After driving in the new Mazda I fell in love with it again. The interior looks better then some luxury cars
It’s an awesome car. Best car by far that I have owned.
Just bought a 19 Mazda 3 and people still can't believe its a Mazda with how different the interior and exterior looks with all its updates
Jessica Tarasan they should easily believe it’s a Mazda, they have always been a cut above their class.
Facts, the new Sonata even has a cheaper interior then this, and it's a full class size above the Mazda 3. In comparison to the Mazda 6 the Sonata looks like a waste of money. Mazda's really killing it.
The torsion beam was needed, the hatches in particular chew through rear strut mounts with the independent setup in the older gens. And once you see how much sheet metal they added on the hatch vs previous gens, you can see why torsion beam was needed.
Great video and I love it. Feels like I'm watching the old Top Gear; proper review with laugh but without over-editing.
The intro though!!!! brilliant!!!!
Mazda is doing something right. All their new designs look good.
Brilliant video guys. Pls make one for 2019 Accord 2.0 sport.. Love that car !
Great review guys. Mazda in the last decade has been utterly impressive and they have shown no signs of slowing down. Incredible considering the size of their company compared to a titan like Toyota. I will be rewarding this companies’ excellence with my wallet this spring. Me and my wife think you guys make a great review duo keep it up guys!

I just had a Mazda 3 as a rental 2 weeks ago... loved that car!!
Lmao! That intro is hilarious! This channel deserves more attention.
You guys are owesome keep going!!!
watched your video for the first time...subscribe right away...very entertaining...full of practical information..
What a damn shame. The pre-facelift Elantra was beautiful. I really thought they had something with that design. They took cues from Audi with the grille, headlights looked Jaguar inspired. Then they decided to facelift the thing 3 years after its debut... and now it looks like garbage.
I thought it looked alright before, not great but not bad. Definitely hideous now...don't know why Asian car (looking at Toyota/Honda mostly) manufacturers are making their compacts and even midsize cars have all these ugly jagged "futuristic/sporty" lines on their front fascias. Mazda definitely stands out as looking far more elegant and clean.
I like the front drooping nose of the old Elantra, metal sheet design around the headlight gave hint of Jaguar. 2019 iteration is designed by a korean i guess because it looks edgy!
Money. That's why. The front end is much simpler and cheaper to manufacture. Just like what VW did to the golf/gti a decade ago.
VW are the ones that started the big bold front grill trend. Back in 06. Every car has followed that trend until recent. Now most companies have been designing their own grill. Its about time. Hyundai is stuck with that stupid grill though.
Agreed. The Elantra from before was nice-looking.
Love the intro!
Awesome video guys .. so interesting and always engaging

Fantastic review guys. Looks like there’ll be a new Mazda3 in my life (here in Australia) some time soon. Release is in April, and, as a bonus, the Aussie spec cars handle even better than American and Euro spec cars, although we probably won’t get AWD as an option. We also get rear air vents, probably a concession to our unbelievably hot summers. Btw, the Elantra restyle looks like it was done by a five year old. What were they thinking?
The Mazda is gorgeous!!!🔥🔥🔥🤯🤯
Yeah interior looks better than a bmw
ThePariss333 hahahaha
ThePariss333 the 2020 Elantra’s interior looks good. But not this one, i mean it’s not bad it’s beautiful actually. It’s just Mazda 3 has a better interior. It’s classy and clean.
Good review n u guys work well together. Very a using. I am Liking the mazda, currently have a manual gti but would consider the mazda as i am tired of shifting the past three cars I’ve owned
I like all of the Mazda lineup. All of them! Idk much about cars, but their look just speaks to me. It's great to know that the looks are matched with rave reviews.
Mazda was still pretty good when they were with Ford, but now they’re even better
Oscar Awarded for that Intro. Continue with these hilarious intros. Great review guys!
It's great to have some amazing Canadian reviewers.
These guys should already have a million followers. They are really good at THIS.
The intro is pure gold lmao
Mazda looks so beautiful and perfect match of interior and exterior design. The work was really put into it and out of my appretiation to that, im getting one and am suv
I got the loaded 2018 Mazda 3 Hatch - I just love it!!!
Glad to see you talk about how the "so criticized over paper" suspension actually feels; I've seen some reviews which seem more spec-reading than actual review.
We ain't no dime store spec review!
As a current owner of a Mazda6 Signature and a previous owner of a Mazda3, Mazda is doing amazing things with their interior. The car is still super fun to drive, but sitting inside the car is just pure bliss. Especially the white interior, just so serene and holy hell is it comfortable. Also, you can steer the Mazda6 with like one, maybe 2 fingers, max when just cruising
The awd mazda 3 vs the Impreza?
that opening was hilarious, very creative
Just need the world to watch One Punch Man and then we can do an intro with that theme :)
Great review - where are you guys filming the driving scenes? Looks like Aurora or Richmond Hill area??
Love my 2020 Mazda 3, I enjoy this relaxing interior every day
Me too 😍 from Japan 🇯🇵
Bahahaha another epic intro! Beautiful work fellas! This video cn be summed up in one word, seductive. Still and get over how badly Hyundai messed up the front of the Elantra. They turned a great looking car into a hideous triangle. Yikes
Guys god review, but please add some interior space/trunk details in the future!
Ha, thanks for the conversion on MPG! I just picked up a 2019 3 Hatchback AWD for an around town and commuter car. It's a lot of comfort and car for the money. I love it.
6:24 "Artificial" steering weight: when was the last time you drove a manual steering car? (Not necessarily a rhetorical question, I'm new to the channel.)
I wish they would just make steering ratios adjustable to the driver's preference, but I guess that may not be feasible at this price point. Great review, love that you mix in some comedy!
They usually offer Sport, Eco and Comfort modes, which affect steering and throttle, on the upper trims, even in compacts now. The Kia Forte also has a "Smart" mode, which responds to your driving style.
Great video
@Thottle House,
The Elantra has a button for the trunk too! It's hidden in the top half of the "H" of the logo. (10:34 mark.)
mazda looks amazing inside out
Is this even a fair comparison? The new Mazda3 is going to walk all over the class for the next two years, especially Korean brands. I drove one, and have a 2018. The 2019 is on another level entirely.
Kia forte 5 gt comes with 201 hp and many standard features that only luxury cars have
Tout à fait daccord!
I have a 2018 Mazda 6, it was so tough deciding which one to get, but damn these new 2019 look like a new step up, and my 2018 is already amazing!
Hey could you please mention some of the differences between 2018 and 2019 models? Thanks.
No. A Kia Forte in 2014 literally tied the mazda 3 in all numbers (car and driver 2014) and had an automatic. Imagine what the next gen Forte will do.
Keep laughing.
I bought the new mazda hatchback a month ago and put about 600 miles on it and it's just gorgeous. I drove an Audi A3 before and you can't even compare it. The skyactive X engine that'll arrive in fall with AWD and almost 200HP for under 30k and all those features and quality is beyond everything you'll get from Mercedes, Audi, BMW or VW for this amount of money. An A-Class with similar tech-features will come at about 10-15k more!
switching my 2006 mazda 3 for a 2019 mazda GS with luxury package!!! can't wait!! :D
Next time you guy should take the Mazda 3's competition out back and put it out of it's misery with some dignity! The Hyundai Elantra was a sinking ship as soon as we seen the interiors! X )
I pissed myself laughing with the auto-porn bit. Another fantastic video, guys.

People think my 04' RX8 is a brand new car. Mazda's are timeless. Zoom Zoom all day ❤
I agree. As a former 04 RX8 owner, the design has aged well. And arguably, the 04 era Mazdas interior controls and overall design aesthetic was more interesting than the 19 Mazda 3 everyone seems to love.
Rob G 100% agreed I drive an 04 Mazda 3 and that interior has held up pretty well I wouldn’t say timeless but close for now
@@leonardotorres9388 I totally agree! I owned both the 2004 Mazda 3 (new) and later the 2004 Mazda RX8 (used) and at the time I thought especially the 3's interior and entertainment controls were best in-class. They still have a charm that I feel the more neutral 2019 Mazda 3 dash and controls lack. Not that the 2019 isn't nice! It's just more in the direction of BMW which is rather bland IMHO. (I've owned Mazda 3/RX8, BMW M Roadster, as well as Corvette, Camaro, Impala, Infiniti G37, and others, so I'd like to think I'm not a blind fan boy of any one brand). My last four cars were $55-72k range but I'd feel comfortable in a 19 Mazda 3 in all ways except probably the engine would be a little let down for me. I've always had Mazda in the back of my mind, if only they could step up on the horsepower.
The Facelift RX8s are definitely timeless. Idk about the prefacelifted ones like the 03-08... but definitely 09-11s
Mazda 3 all the way..
Thomas and James eh? Where’s Sir Toppem Hat?
Very entertaining review, especially the intro. All things being equal, I’d probably go with the Elantra due to the long warranty... or skip both and buy a Soul. 🤔
Still cannot get over this absolutely gorgeous interior of that 3. A new Mazdaspeed 3 would be so awesome. 250+ hp 2.5L skyactive motor, AWD, and a 6 speed would be the best little sedan.
I am a Hyundai Elantra and Sonata lover, but this new model is lacking the voluptuous line they used to have
4:13 But Mazda's SKYACTIV-G engines also operate with Atkinson/Miller cycle in the manner you describe. Hyundai's marketers harp on this point more than Mazda.
I have a 3 gen mazda 3 hatch love it. But the 4th gen interior, looks soooo Nice.
Love the steering feel of the 3
