- How to restore your USB back to original size or capacity.
When USB memory is partitioned the memory size decreases to a small amount. You won't be able to use the USB at full capacity unless the disk is restored. This happens when you download Windows 10 or 11 onto your USB stick. In this video, I show you how to restore your USB back to it's original capacity.

Very well explained and very informative video. I've watched many videos on this over the years. My brain didn't want to work so I searched how to restore ssd to original size and I saw this video and clicked on it. Very glad that I did bc instead of just saying open cmd and copy and paste blah blah blah u actually explained what I should do and the different file systems/types and what they do or are used for. I have a thumbdrive I tried to install Memtest on and now it is reading as two drives. It does not show up in the disk list when I run the command. I cannot format it using ImageUSB. Any suggestions? It is a 32GB thumbdrive and it is split into a 254MB and 511MB partition.

After clicking enter, after "create partition primary" "disk is uninitialized, initializing it to GPT" pops up then it succeeded in creating the specified partition. The drive all of a sudden disappears. How to fix this problem?

THANK YOU! I had a broken USB drive after I used Ventoy to turn it into a Boot USB. Ventoy split the stick into partitions and it was simply not functioning as a normal flash drive anymore. Until now haha!

I was feeling pretty silly for a moment there - I thought I got ripped off as I had bought a 512GB PNY Pro Elite V2 10Gbps drive and before checking the capacity I used it as a Windows Recovery drive... and thought, "That's strange - why is this thing only 32GB???" - Now I know! Already fixed it using your video, as I needed the full capacity to do some large file moves. Much appreciated!

Do you know why ut drops to 32gb after using it as a boot drive? The same thing happened to me
same here. good brand too. samsung. a 64 gb used as installer boot-usb | afterward dropped to 32gb when reformatted.| At least now I know the fix.

Thank you so much. I had this same happen to a 64 GB USB drive that I used to install Windows. Wonder why it does that.
The drive is partioned when you install Windows. That is why we complete wipe the drive and repartion it

is it only me that "bricked" my usb stick and could not even format it? (unallocated size)
I had to run windows disk management tool to re-establish the volume and then I was able to format it again. I followed the instructions out of curiosity to try this tool out which I was not familiar too. Thus, I prefer the Disk Management tool myself.
if you can? make a simple video, how to make a simple password lock on usb flash drive to add some security ? would be great !!
